It feels pointless sometimes playing this game especially when you're mainly free to play and information that is spread and bet upon by players is changed with no notice. On top of that, there's no way for people to make up whatever is changed usually without spending exponential amounts of money. Accountability comes with handling people's money, so start firing some people and fixing issues around subject to change blogs, spend events, and incorrect purchase offers. The longer you take, the more people get annoyed and leave the game period. Wish I was talking out of my butt on half of this stuff, smh Scopely

Scopely hit us with a real rope a dope. At least foreman got to fight Ali.
Subject to change should never be the standard/save scopely.
The drastic change is absolutely mind blowing. Upwards of 20k to max the event for gear.
Alrdy planned to help my faction with the contest and didn't spend on the solo at all.
These kind of changes really make me think why I still play. Time to really reflect.
Having one good compensation all the years playing is not enough to come through with even a 1 star customer service rating.
All the recent changes,.fued scores raising, MLC market changes etc. Have really reflected how little scopely cares about their player base.

Been playing this game for almost 5 years. I appreciate you need to freshen things up but you have to think of your audience. Why not do a poll asking what we want more? Not a fan of this new summer slam event
.T-shirts need to come back. So hard to get top tier characters . Give us some more free pulls scopely

I’m in one of the top factions in the game. We planned accordingly. 20 pulls per member is still a $50 commitment per guy. That’s substantial. Now you’re asking for a $220 commitment? Come on.
We were really stoked for this, but this is outrageous.

This is not a mistake. This is intentional. Mistake would have missing a zero (making it 20 million instead of 2 million) or putting a comma in a wrong place.
The blog said 2 million points to max the faction contest. The change was intentional and sly. Deliberate. Why? When the blog post went live, it showed 2 million. Then it changed to 25 million. Every blog post when edited shows the date it has been updated. Why does this blog post does not show when it was edited? The effort to hide and change the blog clearly suggests that changing the max milestone was an after-thought. A by-product of the company's unchecked greed. A by-product of getting away with things under the protection of "subject to change".
It does nothing more than bring bad name to the CCs that work hard trying to get all this info to the player base. What it does for the company? Well, what can you do to a company whose player base expect a goof up everyday at reset

I’m all for adhering by the subject to change line in the blog all the time. But this is at best blatant disrespect, I have no idea how y’all saw the good feedback from the Rocky event and pull stuff like this.

Just so I won't be accused of not providing something "fruitful" to this conversation, I will say this:
Exactly a month ago, we had this very same conversation in my faction. Not just about blogs being wrong, but with the rate there are consistently errors within all aspects of the game. Some said glitches are expected to happen from time to time and they are right. However, that should be the exception, not the norm in any circumstance.
There's a serious lack of quality assurance protocols in place and while some areas have gotten better (customer service for help issues being one) others continue to slide the other way.
My opinion (and my opinion only) is that there's no standards in place for quality assurance that holds anyone on payroll accountable. Which as someone who basically spends their work day (and as part of their job duties) trying to find faults with software updates in our test region before they ever go live to the consumer...I just find it mind-numbingly astounding the lack or details, attention, care or just plain common sense to these things is just missing.
The excuse (used and given to me) that Scopely is a fast pace work environment and things change all the time can't be used as an excuse for incompetence. They aren't the only company, group, individual that has to work at breakneck speed to get things done while ensuring simultaneously a quality product is delivered each and every time.
How thoroughly is anything reviewed/validated in their test environment?
Is there a test environment?
How many rounds of testing does something go through before the final "OK" is given from a superior?
Just based on the issues we had in the past 30 days (which has already been listed in previous posts) are the three questions I ask immediately as it feels like they need to be asked because the perception from the other side is that nothing is ever getting done other than cutting and pasting the same things over and over and crossing their fingers that everything works decent enough it seems.
Being as profitable of a company as this one...there is no reason, excuse or justification that can be made to quantify the number of errors, bloopers, mistakes, gaffes, or whatever you want to call them that this company makes on regular basis, constantly. This latest one being a big knuckle sandwich to the face of everyone that plays this game no matter if you're free to play, spend $5 a month or $50K+ a year. We all as players deserve better. You as a company deserve better because when your player base is happy...we spend and your bottom line is a whole lot happier as well.
The crazy thing is that we still have this major update that's supposed to come out the 3rd quarter of this year. Instead of people being excited and looking forward to it, they are fretting what this new update will break and how it will change their gaming experience for the worse.
Get it together...regroup and refocus. Start holding your employees accountable the same way you have started holding us accountable as a community anytime someone takes advantage of a Scopely mistake. If they aren't doing their jobs right or can't rise to a simple standard or not engaged in their jobs as their should to make sure most of these mistakes can (and should) be avoided...find someone (or someones) that will. We as a community love this game just want to see it grow and be at it's best.
It's all we really want and what we deserve.

Lots of great points made above but every event has a spend component. There's no care in the world for the new players, or the non spenders. The atrocious amounts requested of the spend events is crazy too. Why cant it be a 10 dollar or 20 dollar per person spend if its a spend event not hundreds. Unreal.
Morale is at an all time low because scopely is not listening to the player base. Most have left or checked out emotionally.
As much as we spend on this game the amount of launch issues, incorrect offers posted with little to no compensation for the mess ups, there is 0 accountability for the problems that have plagued the game and community.
I was even in the townhall at one point, and even there it was a joke getting answers. They'd take no responsibility and they'd tell us as leaders to make a blog post and get traction from the community. The spend is unreal, care is non existent. Copy paste events. Nothing new or exciting.
My constructive point would be to listen to your player base a little more, make it easier for free to play and new players to compete and get new superstars, and maybe lay off everyone's pocketbook a little bit. Give us a reason to spend and we will.

I’m going to come at this at a different angle and say “shame on you” for not taking the time to watch any of your content creators streams. The time the official and not-so official streamers took to hype this event and discuss the importance of being in top factions for just these events was impressive. To turn around and Jack up the final milestone is disrespectful…furthermore if you did watch any then I have some other not-so “PG Era” words to say to you.

There is a point where all these mistakes have to stop, we as your customers/supporters of your company are constantly getting shafted.
I agree with everyone who has posted here how can we expect whatever you guys post or say to hold true because it constantly falls short of expectations.

The end result will be the same, and that is if it doesn't move the bottom line, Scopley will not concern themselves with whatever is in their customers' best interest. That may seem like an obviou statement, but it's a short term play (screwing up with no reconciliation because, why would they) vs a long term strategy of continuous player engagement.
Example, their screw up with the prize wall tokens. I took advantage and eventually evolved Goldberg and Santa Hogan. They took these back (removed Goldberg and de-volved my Hogan) as they said they would, but then I've had to open three tickets to get the coin, tp, and tokens (in Goldberg's case) reimbursed. Again, short term thinking ("let's spend as little developer effort as necessary to create a script and reclaim what we gave out from our screw up") vs long term ("we know you're disappointed and will do everything possible to make you whole with no effort on your part").

Sadly this is another ‘expected’ pulling the rug out moment from Scopely. Please quality check this game before anything goes live as the errors and mistakes are far too frequent.
This is another example of moving the goal posts and again results in the common feeling us as players have, resentment and a lack of enjoyment.

This company has become a joke. Nothing but pure incompetence and greed. This is why I am no longer spending money on this game. Maybe if enough people stop spending scopely will remove it's head from it's ........

Wow. I’m a new player but this is ridiculous. Seems like you have to pay thousand of dollars when originally it might have been a lot less from the blog post. Maybe demote the person who writes the blog or fix the contest to how they wrote it. This is not subject to change he. It’s subject to inflate.

I would echo most everything said above.
From my perspective I was open to spending $100-$200 for the faction event to help boost and cover some in faction that may not be in a situation to contribute. However with the change and no possible chance to reward the faction with gear without every member spend $200+ it seems fruitless to spend anything and at this point I havnt. I will probably spend a bit but not even close to what would have. And this is a perspective from being in a top faction that would have maxed.
Now multiply that by all the others that feel the same. Especially including all of the factions that may not spend as much as a group that would have maybe opened their wallets and spend a bit more for this one.
Seems Scopely has done a disservice to themselves just as much as the players with players losing out on obtaining a great reward for a mid spend and Scopley missing out on 100s-1000s of people spending more.
Rather than the community being uplifted with a good character and gear, This will go down on a list of one of the biggest disappointments in the game. And every time we use Ali we will be reminded of this disappointment rather than a Scopley Solid. Thats if Ali is actually obtainable, we shall see.

This has to be a prank right? I know Scopely was bought recently but did you guys also remove the coders and those who know what rationality is? Whales are gonna be the only thing left on the game at this rate of straight up disrespect and the even they will have enough and leave. Your becoming to greedy, new players have “no chance in hell” of doing most of the requirements as it is. I’m a veteran player who’s been here since the start and see every change the game has had but the last 6 months to a year you guys have completely paywalled anything worth chasing to the point that even “dolphins” like me are saying fuck it. I play in Haven and can tell you that I/we are not the only ones getting fed up with the CONSTANT need for money like a homeless person on a street corner holding a bucket and squeegee at the red lights……I digress…..retirement from this game is becoming an easier and easier decision every week/month like we’ve been getting from “new owners” of Scopely. I’d love to see what you would do if every player went on a boycott banding together as a community and just stopped buying…..more and more players like me are already at the breaking point where there’s just no point anymore. Dozens of new Top Tier cards every single month, 90% pay walled events, basically needed the fun events like ANY GRIND EVENT other than kickoff….those grinding events were what made the game fun just like feud does. Stop being Vince and become Triple H. It’s not ONLY about money, you need normal players as well or who the hell are the whales gonna feud with? They already only have a small handful of factions that give a run for top 3 during events….remember when it was a real battle…..when the game was a “come play with your buddies” kinda place….now…..not even close…..if you ain’t paying you ain’t playing….shitty motto….I doubt anyone with any power will read this if anyone at all is still following along but those are my thoughts on the game. Tone it back and make it fun again. Keep your whales with something to eat if they become Megladons…..die of starvation. Jason X Hale

This is a huge slap in the face and kick in the junk. Glad I didn't spend the 1st two days. I was all in to drop $$ today. Thanks to my faction leaders for the quick announcement when it was caught. This is Scopley’s payback for their multiple major screwups this mlc that they had to make good on “in the interest of fairness”

I spent to get Ali thinking the event to get his gear was only gonna be to spend 200 pulls per faction to get the gear as what was posted in your “blog” you need to stop running the subject to change line because it’s getting old already. A tweak or a minor change is one thing but to completely change the cost of the milestone to reach the final reward is unacceptable. People didn’t spent on Monday and Tuesday just to help there faction today to get the gear. Not cool at all from you guys and I’m sure the spenders (your bread and butter) are not happy either.

The lack of proofreading and general qc in this game is ridiculous. One offs happen from time to time but this month has been one mistake after another. Stop blaming us for “exploiting” your mistakes and clean your own house. I would start with simply proofreading the blogs tbh. Whoever writes them obviously needs assistance to make sure what’s stated in them is actually what is going to happen. I know that this used to take place to some extent in the past but it seams as if that doesn’t happen anymore. If I made as many mistakes at my job as what has happened in this game in the last 30 days I’d be fired.

Wow guys, just wow! I know the past month has been full of issues but this one is by far the worst one! I read a fair few posts and have recently started giving feedback as I am a huge fan of this game and have been playing for years, but in recent times it's been the worst it ever been for mistakes, issues all of which benefit you and not the players/customers. You know it's bad when even the content creators show their disbelief @Mherex shout out to you here! It's good to see CC get involved as maybe now that might have a bit more clout when it comes to Scopely listening!! I would very interested to hear what the reasoning behind this astronomical change from 2 million to 25 million is! Even the top spending factions have taken a step back on this one because it's not realistically achievable and certainly not worth the rewards if by some miracle some factions wanted to Max it out! 12,500 pulls is insane!! Claiming "Subject to Change" is not going to be enough to cover you on this one so the best course of action now would be to admit the mistake, cancel the spend event and look to smooth things over with every single active player. I work in Sales and if I make mistake when quoting my customers, I have to stand by that mistake and learn from it. Same thing applies with your business!! Players would respect you a lot more if you owned up to errors and dealt swiftly and fairly rather than the usual approach of bypassing it hoping it blows over and leaving us all in the dark with no communication! Things have to improve otherwise the point will come where all players & factions will stand together and stop spending until things are changed for the better!
If you don't want to lose that custom..... then fix it and learn from it so it does not happen time after time.
Every single person that has commented on this post it right and you can have no argument with their frustrations.

This is just ridiculous. Every time same thing happen and we have to suffer like nothing..

At this point, it's just a waste of time and energy asking for things to be checked properly. We're clearly expected to be grateful for any kind of thrown-together blog even if it's completely wrong.
Rather than continue to bang my head against a wall, I'll try to be constructive and suggest a way to avoid these constant issues.
How about loading these contests into the game 24-48 hours early without having the point methods active? Highlight the contest in red with a countdown timer to show that it's not yet live but allow us to check the point methods, milestones, CSS, etc. This way we don't need to rely so heavily on a shoddy blog post, and it gives you time to fix mistakes before the contest actually starts.
I'd also like to add how disappointed I am to find out that nobody at Scopely bothers to watch (or even just listen in the background) the CC streams or previews. If anyone at all was watching, this error would have been picked up since this event and the scoring was mentioned multiple times on the official channel this week. We're often told how feedback is important but one of the best sources of feedback is the discussion on these streams. Furthermore, it's really unfair to screw up like this time and time again before throwing your CCs under the bus to take the backlash from the community when it's not their fault at all.

I’ve spent my last bit of money on this game. I’ve lost all faith. You could have communicated earlier that the amount was wrong, but no you did not. Still haven’t had any communication from a Mod in this thread, no in game mail explaining the mistake, not a word. You have irritated many top players/streamers that care about your game. When the thing went live today you still hadn’t even so much updated the blog at that point. As much money as just myself pours into this game, this is unacceptable and cannot be overlooked. I hope others will join me in a no spend August to push our point.

This type of unacceptable issue will be yet again swept under the rug without someone being held accountable for the mistakes. These issues are what makes this game not enjoyable for many gamers. For a company making a fortune off loyal gamers, you guys have yet again missed the mark on this event not to mention several other issues throughout this monthly event. I am pro-blog for the fact it allows factions and gamers to establish expectations for each event but changing an event last minute when people are already spending money is absolutely distasteful and borderline criminal. You as a business need to be held accountable and have your team members be held accountable for the mistakes.

Thank you for messing up the blog. The sheer ineptitude and volume of mistakes in all facets has been the most entertaining aspect of the game this month. My sincerest appreciation and looking forward to seeing where the error is at in this weekend's event.

Dear Scopely (aka people that won't give a crap about their fanbase)
I, for one, am glad that you as a company chose to make such a drastic switch in terms of this contest requirements. For all the people that have considered this game to be reasonable in terms of payable content, now they get to see the illegitimate Muppet spit balling that happens when your event planning team comes together. Ridiculous.
Whomever considered this choice should be demoted. This isn't just a bad choice, this is management that's out of touch with reality. And, unfortunately, this has been the narrative with this game for the last couple years. I've never seen a game company charge so much for so little innovation. No matter how many cards you add, or how many Player Appreciation Boxes you send out, it doesn't compare to the weekly disassociations this company has. Period. And the problem is....it's such a good core game absolutely ruined by a poor vision and crap quality control.
All these people that spent $500 towards Ali, with the expectation that they could swing the gear for cheap, yall seriously just lied to them. That "subject to change" crap doesn't cut it. Someone decided the profit margin didn't make sense in the last few minutes and .....tough crap, should have asked Bob in accounting to look at it first. There's no faith in believing anything this company says anymore.
My condolences to all you that spent 5 bills for a card that needs gear. I hope you all can get refunds.

If blog is subject to change every time then why are you guys even creating blogs and asking content creators to read the blog on live stream such a waste of time.
Minor changes should be ok but but here the complete course got changed.
0 -
This change in faction total completely ruined the way I and everyone in my faction planned for this event. Which will now keep us from getting the gear. “Subject to change” has been abused way to often. This latest one might be the worse. Confidence in Scopley putting out a reliable honest product is almost non existent. I not sure how or if you will make this right. But we as a whole are not happy.
