Sami, Rocker, and Naka NERFED?? BS.

That’s messed up… especially because you have your content creators promoting videos with these particular superstars with these moves and damages, and you never say nothing. People spend money to get these stars, now you’re saying oops it was a mistake? If anything forces me into retirement it’ll be this. This is some full on dictator shit. Hopefully this is a hoax other wise im legitimately done, with your subscriptions, your BS pulls we all know are rigged, your content creators and their videos. All of it….. matter fact fuck this game at that point….

i won’t write anything about the current posters, everyone else covered the issue…my point is simple…So, when does it end?
When you, can Scopely, guru’s, wake up, any given day, and decide, to nerf any poster you like, because you feel like it, and make any change in given characteristics, when does it end???
Which will be the next poster nerfed??? How will I know which poster to work, on, or invest on, since you have no issue, screwing it over, one sunny day, just because you though of it?
Ppl invest real money, resources, time and planning their whole game strategy, in given conditions…
How on earth do you change given game aspects, without prior notification…

I want to echo the sentiments in this comment and the many others. Sh*t happens and companies/people make mistakes, but I don't think the was the best way forward. If the mechanics were not intended to function as they had been, that was never communicated and there was no reason for players to assume there was any errors that needed correcting. It is extremely unsettling and disappointing to think that you knew there was a mistake in the mechanics and planned to fix it down the road but a) never communicated it, b) structured boss battles to benefit from these mechanics and c) released new characters (such as PH Sami) functioned this way and were promoted based on these mechanics.
Look, you are a business and your job it to make money. I get it. However, those pursuits to make money should not include being blatantly deceptive and taking advantage of your customers. Even if we put ethics aside (which we shouldn't), and focus on economics, myself, and many others it seems, are much more hesitant to put any money in this game knowing that you can and will change any character to make them worse without any communication.
The whole situation is really disappointing and I hope you realize that and either change it back or find a way to compensate the affected players.

You made a change that NOBODY asked for and was fine with it. Congrats.

so scopley is saying was intentional after careful consideration they decided this was opd. Guess theyve never seen the 20 better superstars than them. For this reason im out.

If a company offers a product or service, it should stand by the offer to build trust with its customers. It is getting hard to make purchases from Scopely in good faith because of a number of their recent decisions: rescinding offers, reclaiming digital purchases, altering the potency of Superstars they previously advertised, etc.
1 -
I do not agree with the decision. I think the only way to fix the issue is fixing the cards that were affected by the change. Especially when the cards affected are S tier. I would improve the moves of the card so they are still competitive before the change was made.

Once again this all about lack of communication. I am of the belief that this was fully intended and thats why no announcement has ever been made about a possible error or glitch that needed to rectified. Because if they announced it before hand, the reaction would have been exactly what it is now and potentially put a stop to the update. Therefore the plan was always to do it unannounced, face the backlash and buy themselves time to "review it" by which time people would have calmed down, the storm will have passed and they will carry on doing it their way with no regard of what the players say because people will continue to pour money into this game regardless.
Anyone from the DEV TEAM want to tell me I'm wrong?
We would prefer honesty and respect rather than trying to pull the wool over our eyes.

You guys need to give refunds or massive compensation to make up for this.
Some ppl built their whole rosters around these characters and how they were playing only for Scopely to change the entire dynamic WITHOUT NOTIFYING ANYONE OF THE UPCOMING CHANGE.

This is Bullshit. I want my money back.

Cancelled all my vip. Speaking with my wallet.

Can't really say much more than what has already been said. It's your game & you can change what you see fit, however, what was done here is not a very good look in the eyes of the player base, for multiple reasons, especially given how long these characters were allowed to be 'broken'.
If you don't intend on reverting the characters back to how they were, here's at least a suggestion to make it right with the player base:
-Create a victory tour for those superstars that were affected. Add all of the resources that would have been needed to upgrade that superstar from 3SB to 6SS in the individual nodes as compensation (TP, coins, tokens, shards etc).
or
-Send everyone who has these players on their rosters an "appreciation gift" in their inbox with the aforementioned resources as a reimbursement.
By doing this, the player base can at least recoup the resources spent on upgrading those affected superstars and use them elsewhere. Let's be honest, most wouldn't have upgraded as high as they did, had it been communicated properly that they weren't working as designed and would eventually be fixed.
You seem to always quote "to preserve fairness in the game" yet you took what many players used as pillars in their roster construction & completely altered their viability as those pillars. How exactly does that preserve fairness?
The player base didn't exploit something that can be categorized as "unintended" to gain an "unfair advantage", the character's gameplay was something that was promoted (multiple times) by the design team as well as the content creators and real money was spent in an effort to obtain them because of what was marketed. You then made the decision to change it after an absurd amount of time. While a monetary refund won't happen, the least you could do is acknowledge what occurred and then listen to the player base to make things right with them. Radio silence on this subject is definitely not a good look.

As this has been previously stated over and over the nerf in itself is troublesome in that these characters have acted this way for a long time and never in the dev notes or other means of communication has it been mentioned that it was wrong and that it would be fixed, if it had then it would have been completely on the player to risk their time, money, and resources on for the powerful gameplay knowing that it could be taken away at any time. Instead you doubled down by releasing more characters that interacted in the same way.
But above all of that the pure lack of communication on Scopely part is just ridiculous. You have a community manager and yet over the issue of the Ali prize wall and this we have heard absolutely nothing from them. What is the point of having a community manager who doesn't speak to the community?
We already have a dwindling player base, look at the last community event there was only about 24k participants, do you really want to alienate more players with something like this?

It's the fact that Sami was advertised that way promoted that way i want a refund for all resources and the hundreds of dollars spent acquiring him. Same for Naka and Shawn but especially drip sami.
1 -
I had spent hard earned money to get rocker, naka and Sami. Already spent resources in Rocker and Naka by taking them to 6sb. I feel cheated. Is this how player base is treated? I don't think so I will ever be spending again to recruit superstars and invest in them. No idea what nerf would be applied in next update. I know this grieviance means nothing to you but you are losing your loyal spending player base.
1 -
The obvious concern here is that you knowingly let people spend money on cards you apparently knew were broken (even promoted them as is with no warning!) and now are basically telling people they may as well have set their money on fire.
The more alarming concern is the fact that you think this is okay? Do you not understand what it is you're doing? Are you not hearing the voices of your PAYING customer base? If you can do it now, what is to stop you from doing it again and again? How can we ever trust to spend dollars again?
Im actually wondering if you even knew the cards were broken. My guess is you meant to release them as is and just never realized how unintentionally good you made them. And now you're trying to clean up your mess. And doing so in the most criminal way possible.
I was going to spend on this current event but I'm letting it pass by. I'll let them all pass by until I see what the final decision is on this.
3 -
So only good option here is to stop spending, stop chasing and stop building characters just in case you decide to alter them. OK cool got it.
2 -
Also canceling my subscriptions. Will not spend another dime unless this is reversed.
1 -
Very poor communication. People have invested their hard earned money on these characters. You scopely approved CC's have been demonstrating how good these were. After having your players invest so much, there should atleast be a dialog with the player community with different ways to address this rather than nerf them out of the blue.

I spent more than 200$ to get Powerhouse Sami Because I saw him as the best feuding option due to that bonus gem damage move and multiply Move build. So please fix the likes of Sami, Rocker Shawn and SB Naka as people have spent alot of money to get these superstars and they should work as intended. If it was not intended this way it should have been told earlier through the content creators but the content creators showed those movesets in those preview videos and lured people into buying these superstars. So its a humble request please fix it.

Hi Everyone,
The team is still reviewing this issue, We will let you know when we have more details available, Thanks for your feedback and continued patience during this process.
2 -
Not a fan that this was intended. How about you fix entourage abilities of the cards you sell opposed to completely changing how a card functions that you’ve already made countless money on? King Woods and Nakamura still don’t work as intended, Dexter Lumis does not work as it is described, but you decided that some cards are too powerful?
This has always been the problem with this game, communication. It’s really not fair to the player base to change how a card functions and then not give them an option to get all the rss put into said cards, at a minimum.
This player base is dwindling enough as it is with how everything is overpriced, hardly ever have an event that functions properly, even your blogs that promote events that you create give wrong information consistently. There needs to be a fix to this situation. I know I will reevaluate my spending because I apparently can’t trust anything you all put out. You promote broken abilites, change how a card functions on a whim, and consistently mess up with no accountability.

What's to review?People have spent hundreds if not thousands of dollars to get these characters because of how good they were...and many months later they just decide to nerf them? That's called theft.

This mechanic has been active at the very least since Hall of Fame Wendi Richter came out. You've had every content creator out there showcase this mechanic in all of the previews. If this wasn't intended, you've had years to communicate it so. Especially through your content creators during official previews. But you in fact doubled down on it. When Out of the Bloodline Sami Zayn came out, this feature was highlighted and you put up the Dominator Drip plate in the prize walls to entice people to spend and take advantage of it. At this point, it is no longer "fixing an uninteded bug". It is a delayed bait and switch screwing over your player base. What this essentially communicates to the player base is that they should not be spending money or resources on any of your newer characters. Who knows, down the line, in a few months, they will nerf the crap out of him by saying "Subject to Change
9 -
I would like to add also that if the change is final and Scopely say that the multiply gems are only on gem damage and not on the number of gems, there is no sense to have more that 3MP when you do a match with a multiply gem in it

So this deceitful tactic was intentional. Without notice you massively change 3 top characters right after a talent up. So I would like to get my resources I put into these characters returned to me so I can use them on a relevant character. Terrible way of conducting business. I feel there’s refund city in your future scopely

I will Stop spending til they fix it

Yeah this is ridiculous. We spent hard earned money that would not have been spent if we knew they’d be nerfed. It’s just wrong.
