Sami, Rocker, and Naka NERFED?? BS.

Things had been going so well things have improved so much this year and boom you've just undone all your hard work. I get most posters on their weekend and now I don't know whether I want to. Because without warning without notice " you have defo changed the way we play" you weren't wrong. Well my spending is now subject to change until this matter is resolved because you can advertise a poster and then just change the way it plays. Over a year later

Why now!!?? So KO is intended??? What about the chain of colossus, Will that be fixed? While your at it, remove all the stun loop guys as well. That can’t be right, Keep your opponent stuck till defeat. That has to be a mistake as well.
You must want this game to come to an end, that is my only guess as to why you would pull this type of move.
with having all naka and Sami at 6b, and rocker at 6ss. I better be over compensated!!!! Oh wait, maybe it was a glitch that I took advantage of for the past year and they will take all my items away from the past year.
back to my corner.

I agree with what others have stated.

Can I get a refund ? I didn’t just waste in game resources / money to get a top card just for you guys pull the rug under me and make them useless . This is total BS

Alot of players have invested alot of money and resources into these superstars including myself . You will need to offer everyone a refund ,as basically what was bought ,has now been changed . You can't do this and even worse , No notification to all you're gamers on these changes that have occurred. By law ,if you buy what's advertised, you get what's advertised. You can't then down the line ,take things away from that purchased item . It's basically theft in my eyes . Refund or revert these superstars back

By the way, just to keep this thread bumped and keep the community momentum going to also make sure our voices are heard, I want to point out another reason this "fix" makes no sense, at least not without an announcement/larger community discussion first:
There have been at least two, but I believe 3, Faction Boss battles all pretty explicitly revolving around this mechanic working the way it has for over a year. They would have been literally impossible without it. Scopely knew how it was working. If they wanted to rebalance this, in theory that might be fine, but you'd need to change a LOT and literally rebalance it, not just nuke an entire mechanic like this. This is a really really terrible look and I pray it's a mistake, or if it's not, Scopely reconsiders.

Absolutely disgusted with this behaviour. Altering a character is one thing after release cause it was wrong, but these characters have been about for a while and this gem damage off multipliers has been around for a while. Built and showcasing these characters around this moves. Investing hard time, resources and money to get and level up.
No communication around what you are doing, except frustrating and annoying your player base, is not a good move by a company.
To resolve this it needs to be rolled back and fixed to how it was.
Everything you do, that makes things better for the players never is that way. And just annoys and frustrates the players. Listen to the people.

You go and fix a mechanic that was working totally fine and didn't require rebalancing. There are other characters that can hit just as hard or harder, there are characters that can stun lock, there are characters that can put you into infinite subs, there are equally as strong mechanics out there - I don't believe this is a re-balance, it's just a way to pull the rug from underneath your players. (Heck - why go fixing mechanics that work when you haven't even fixed Naka's trainer ability???)
Usually with a rebalancing, overpowered mechanics get toned down and weaker mechanics get a toned up (buffed). I don't see any balancing here, did something get better that we didn't know about?
Now we've invested all these resources into these characters, there is no way to "re-roll". Many games with re-balancing mechanics gives the player the ability to re-roll. In this case, I would like my resources back and then I can re-think about investing in the character. I feel like I've wasted a YEAR of boss breaker coins on his character (Yes, an entire year... I don't purchase boss breaker currency, I just attain it from the faction shop. Buying it daily, I've got enough to max ONE Boss breaker ability)
Allow us to re-roll our characters (refund resources: coin, TP, Boss breaker currency, Strap parts and skill plate removal coins) or return the mechanic back to the way it was before.
I really do enjoy this game and thought it was going in the right direction. I didn't mind investing in the game every now and then, but changes like this make me wonder the direction the game is going and does it deserve my time.

Spot on. This isn't a re-balance, it's just a straight up nerf to three of the previously strongest characters in the game, one of whom was an extremely financially successful chase less than a few months ago for Scopely with absolutely nothing to compensate for it, AND the characters in question weren't even excessively powerful! They were basically in keeping with the other top-level characters in the game, which MAKES SENSE. They were/are rare, and thus are meant to be powerful. Heck, I feel like even the fact that Nakamura and Shawn don't recycle super easily was designed to be something of a balance, and that's fine. It worked. There was no need to change it other than people being obsessed about semantics.

I echo everyone else's reasoning and disgust at these un-notified and un-necessary changes. Imagine buying a new Tesla, advertised with a top speed of 150mph. Then a year later Tesla randomly releases a software update that limits the top speed to 30 mph. That's effectively what's happened here.
I see three ways of correcting this, in my order of preference:
1. Change it back. Easy to do, just reverse whatever code change you made.
2. Refund any real money spent on obtaining these characters. Not just on initial release loot, but subsequent loots for shards or to get milestones for prizewall currency. Not sure how this works in practice, maybe really difficult to do.
3. Tours for each of these characters to recoup resources spent on levelling, at least the bog three of Sami, Nakamura and Rocker. Easy mode 3 matches. One to give the coin cost back of maxing levels to 4 star gold. One for TP. One for an ultimate belt of your choice. Hard, the same for coin and TP to 5 gold but with a plate of your choice. Hell, coin and TP to 6 silver with your choice of replacement character. This way anyone can have an equivalently good replacement with resources to take them up.
I know which option I would take if I was Scopely. Anything less than one of the options above and Scopely will not be seeing a single more penny from me

Y'know, Nakamura is the only one of these three posters I have, but I thought about it. Not even considering in game resources to level him up, I spent something like $80 in REAL WORLD MONEY a few months ago to finally get him, understanding how he played to that point. Now he's utterly useless. And I KNOW I'm not the only one.
Scopely, I'm being totally calm when I say this. All you have to do is switch it back. That's all anyone wants. It's not that hard.

Hey everyone,
The change to the per percentage multiply gems is currently being reviewed by the team. When we have more information on the decision we will reach out with the update. Thank you to those who left Constructive feedback and we appreciate your patience.
1 -
I'm sorry. No review should take place ,as it should not have happened in the first place . No notification whatsoever and alot of money etc put into these superstars . The only thing that should be done is putting these superstars back to what they were or refunding everyone that has invested in them.

Wow, this has blown up hasn't! Moderators - with everything going on you must be on a pretty sweet deal with Scopely, because seriously how much more can you take? You are also players and as such are also affected so it's in your best interests as well to push Scopely for the right decision to be made. Promoting these new cards/posters whatever the correct label is these days, in the way that it was gave people a desire to go after those cards. I personally don't have the main 3 mentioned in this blog, but I do keep my eye out on Loot and Store to see if any deals come about to recruit them giving what I have seen from CC's (who are there to promote and preview and help players with a little guidance). In game Cards should only be improved as the game expands and grows. There are plenty of cards in the game which are almost useless in the current day which should be improved before you even think about Nerfing cards. Scopely have gone completely the wrong way on this one.

First I want to say thank you for actually having the courage and the common courtesy to communicate. I genuinely appreciate that. Secondly though, what I'm going to say is, in my opinion, the only thing that makes sense is to just put it back. No players I know raged about how the mechanic worked. We just accepted that those characters, being rare as they are and having other weaknesses (primarily move MP charge and/or issues recycling) are totally reasonable examples of a rare, top-end superstar. Those can exist in the game. It's fine.
Furthermore, that mechanic working how it did added another interesting strategy to consider, both with the superstar or against them. Having diversity in mechanics is a good thing. In my humble opinion, why go out of your way to make the game more same-y and boring?
But again, thanks for at least saying something. I hope things come to a good resolution and we can all continue enjoying Champions. Other than Kama being pretty disappointing, y'all have really been on a pretty great roll overall for months and months. Keep THAT energy, not this.

Wow that’s nice, scopely… three of my top 5 characters are now completely worthless. So should I level up Nia Jax now to add bad company ? That’s hands down the most annoying, offensive, player disrespecting move ever done by you.
The ONLY way to fix this, is to cancel the nerf and let it be the way it was before. This is not negotiable.

Managed to recruit Naka from shards within the last 6 weeks, took him to 6ss on Tuesday only to have the rug pulled from under me on Wednesday. As other have said real life money, coins, TP, boss battle currency all wasted if this isn’t changed back.
Everyone here knows what to do…. ZERO spend in game going forward until this is resolved. No matter what offers they throw at us.
2 -
Completely agree with the above, payed and upgraded ph Sami all the way to 6ss now you render him useless start rolling out the refunds!!!!

Just adding my name to the long list of players who feel that they have had something else taken away that's been paid for.

As a long-time player of WWE Champions, I must express my disappointment and frustration with the recent meta change in the game. The shift has significantly disrupted the balance and enjoyment that many of us have come to appreciate.
The beauty of the game was in its diverse strategies and team compositions. This sudden alteration to the meta not only invalidates the time and effort we've invested in building NAKA, Shawn but it also feels like a disservice to the dedicated community that has supported the game.
It's disheartening to see a move that appears to prioritize short-term profit over the satisfaction of the player base. Many of us have spent hours honing our skills and strategies within the established meta, and this abrupt change feels like a slap in the face.
We understand that games evolve, but sudden shifts can leave players frustrated and disengaged. I hope the developers take our feedback into account and find a way to restore a more balanced and enjoyable experience for all players.
It's important for the developers to consider the impact of these changes on the player community and work towards maintaining the trust and loyalty that we've shown to WWE Champions over the years.

There are few things I would like to address to scopely regarding issues happened in recent weeks.
- Lack of communication, transparency and accountability. Scopely you have at least 3 major ways to communicate with players: in game message(which all players have access to), blog (Dev's reports of what is going on and what issues are planned to fix, there was no mentioned of this game mechanic as an issue anywhere in the past)and social media platforms. If there was an issue/problems/un-intended complications, address and communicate to the players as soon as you realise it exist. That way players will be aware of them and you can fix them properly.
- For current changes of game mechanics, scopely could have address it as an unintended long time ago if it really was. But there wasn't. So players take it as intended and it had been for a very long time and it's not players' fault.
- Easiest way to fix this in my opinion (and most the players') is to revert the mechanic to what it was before. If that's clashing with whatever scopely is planning to release future posters/updates, buff the affected damage of each poster. For example sb nakamura create 3 bottom rows to 10x multiply gems at 6sb. Buff the landslide move yellow gem damage to 10x of what's currently at can negate the nerf which happened currently. Do the change for buff gem damage of each move for all affected posters and you can have your game mechanic changed but players will not be affected negatively as well as those 3 posters will remain as much sought after posters. Otherwise lack of trust in scopely from players will grow more and more and reputation of the company will go down as time goes by.
- I was happy to see search function and strap inventory changes in the new update but such game mechanic change of postes which players spent their hard earned money shouldn't have happened without notifying/discussing with players well in advance. This issue not only negate the positive changes this update brought in but seemingly creating unnecessary issue to make players leaving the game in anger. Please communicate with players and do better scopely.

Sami was fully intended to be played that way you fully knew this mechanic was there way before the release of Sami and if you thought it was broken and needed sorted why release sami with that bonus gem damage move and the drip plate on his prize wall

This is totally unfair as they carry many different types of players rosters nerfing them is gonna just widen the gaps between players and what's the guarantee that scopely won't nerf current released superstars when the new meta arrives next year

many have spnd so much money and time and sudnly u nerfd the ss on whch many tokns spcly 6ss tokn have been used this is realy not done make them as they were before this is not right with players

This is garbage. You market characters and get people to spend money because the way they are played, then change them. All of sudden this was not the intent of how they were ment to be played years later pure bullshit. It was never stated ever that this was broke. It is false advertising if this change stays. That is Crooked business.

I just want to know why should they be nerfed now, while when they were released the content creators previewed them and said that they were the best cards in the game.
I mean if there were to be nerfed then it should have been done the same week of their release not after 6 months or a year...
This is not fair what you guys are doing to this player base, some people have actually spent a lot getting these premium characters!
My advice would be next time when you make a character make sure they don't blow other characters off the board!
P.S. There was no "Subject to change" when the character moves were stated so this nerfing should not be applied!
