Can't set showdown defense

I can’t set a defense in showdown. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app. I am on the latest version. My phone is in the latest version of IOS. I have checked my internet connection multiple times. This has been going on for over a month. Customer service can’t figure it out. Does anyone else have a suggestion?
