Gear notification won't go away

I bought and redeemed a gear loot pull. I got gear for a character I don't have. The little red "1" won't go away from my roster menu/home screen no matter what I do.

    @GreatestScott there are two potential ways to resolve this. Its hit or miss but you can try both and hopefully one works for you.

    1) open the superstar in the in loot/not in loot section depending on who it is. Click their gear icon and select the one you acquired. If this doesn't work try step 2.

    2) uninstall and reinstall the game.
