Showdown refresh needs immediate attention.

To add to this past weekends disaster showdown.

The refresh was NOT working properly.

For example.

If I did not like the line up I would refresh to get new opponents, but it did not give new opponents. If "firpo" was in my first line and I refreshed he was in my second line up, refreshed again he was in my third line up.

I personally did this up to 112,000 coins ans the same player was there ever time except once.

The point of the refresh button is to get a new set of opponents? Right ?

This was a massive waste of coins, time and coins.

This should be fixed immediately so when we hit refresh we actually get a refresh, not the same player over and over.

This was brought to me by a faction mate. I duplicated the problem. And seen at least 50 other cases of the same problem between Facebook and discord.

Please fix

    Yeah, this is a big issue. The free refresh system was a great change, but whatever change that caused this needs to be addressed.

    This, combined with the 1,000 notoriety league has ruined Showdown for a lot of players.

    Some lucky players are getting hundreds and hundreds of defensive wins as a result of this, too. Players have no choice of teams to attack so they are 'suiciding' against these teams that show up repeatedly.

    I also kept getting 2 of the same people every refresh... it was a waste of coins. Clearly, if I am refreshing I would like new people to choose from, not the same options

    Obviously not a dev or mod, so take this with a grain of salt. That being said, my understanding of the SD system is that if you are actively searching for opponents, then you are in a "pool" of available players that can be attacked. You stay in this pool until you are attacked, and if you are not longer active then you are removed from the pool until you become active again. The only exception is if you are attacked via the "revenge" function from a defense log.

    In theory, this sounds great. No logging off and coming back to a massive notoriety loss. However, this also makes it so that the toughest opponents, that no one wants to face, are almost always in the pool. If they are also actively playing, they may be placed right back in the pool even in the rare occurrence that they are attacked. Based on the exact specifics of the matchmaking system, which no one really knows, it seems like this means that at times there may be a pool of only a very small number of players that all have maxed 5ss defenses. Since the refresh function is only pulling from this same very limited pool, the same opponents keep showing up.

    Now, as to whether this is Scopely's intent, I have no idea. However, I agree with the issue of spending coins for basically no change in available opponents. However, aside from re-tooling the entire matchmaking system to pull offline players, I'm not really sure what a fair fix may be.

    This has been happening to me for months both in the showdown events and in the continuous showdown.

    Its hard to believe there are 1000s of people playing the game when the same 10-12 are constantly showing up in my hopper.

    This hasn't been the case in awhile. Massive notoriety loss also isn't possible. You can only lose notoriety from one attack while you're inactive until your shield timer expires.
