Typhoon Bug?!?!

My issue is with Typhoon. I have his Body Avalanche and Tidal Wave moves equipped. Avalanche says I get to choose 6 Gems as heal Gems...Tidal Wave says it will make 7 Heal gems into Yellow. (I have Rock as a Trainer). So, unless my math is off, that means all 6 Heal gems I made with Avalanche should be turned to yellow...But, its not turning them all yellow, only about 3-4 of them...So, either Tidal Wave isnt performing as stated, or the trainer is improperly increasing Tidal Wave as it shows.
