I really enjoyed the steel cage game mode!

    Likes

-The challenge of overcoming the restrictions.

-The variation of strengths and weaknesses.

-Having to strategize, using the best set up to win.

-The prize wall is cool. 😎 We just need more earnable medallions.

    Opportunities

-Moves that are 4 mp and lower should be restricted to even things up more.

-Add the rendering of a real cage in the background during the match.

-Add features to one of the moves for easy character that allows them to activate one Coach or trainer at random to simulate cage interference.

-Add a bleed move bonus since blood is a part of most cage matches.

-Allow skill plates always since they are like weapons in a cage match and weapons are generally allowed.

Great game mode overall! Looking forward to how it evolves. Thanks for continuing to make the game fun.

I’d love to have Leo as my choice TMNT character. 😊

    What I liked:
    - PRESENTATION: The overall presentation of the contest was cool. The character designs, animations, and overall theme were fun.
    - FREE CHARACTERS: The ability to unlock Kofi early in the contest was great. Xavier was also essentially a free character if you engaged in the contest. Both are reasonably solid free characters.
    - WEEK 1 PRIZEWALL: Some good resources were available for players who wanted to take that route with their medallions.
    - NEW SKILL PLATES: Although most players didn't have much 'pizza' currency unless they had amazing RNG luck, the selection of new plates entering the game is great. Opening new combinations and movesets for characters is always interesting.

Mixed Bag / Could be Improved:
    - COMMUNICATION: With previous 'crossover' type events having characters or content that has since disappeared, it would have been nice to have some communication about whether TNMT will return for another contest or shard availability, etc down the road. There was also a lot of confusion about currency and prizewalls. A full 2-week blog at the beginning of week 1 could've helped players better understand the contest and set their goals.
    - CONTEST TIMING: Daily showdown contests were a nice way to make some extra progress in the contest. The timing for me personally is rough with reset coming at 4 am. It would be nice to see variation in this start/end time, especially when the contest resets daily.
    - NO SHARD AVAILABILITY: Having 0 shards for characters after any contest is always a disappointment because players are starting from scratch in any future contest, loot, or prizewall. Even a token amount of shards of these characters would've been
    - PRIZEWALL BALANCE: The balance of the items on each prizewall was off. Rey and the new moment should have been available on both prizewalls. I finished with quite a lot of currency for the Week 1 wall and nothing really exciting to choose from, while Week 2 had many good items but very little prizewall currency.

    What I Disliked:
    - PAYWALL: Most of the community compared this event to the Rocky contest we had. Players were generally okay with being priced out of getting Seth (Tech Rocky), but most expected to be able to recruit Rey (Apollo) without having to spend a huge amount. Requiring a $100 starter pack just to see Seth on the prizewall also seems unnecessary.
    - BLOG INFO: Incorrect information on the blog for week 2. It was very disappointing to be left over 3 million points short of what was promised from the tours.
    - WEEK 2 PRIZEWALL: The cost of Rey on the prizewall and the structure of the spend contest was laughable. From what I remember, the Rocky contest was very well received but unfortunately, the changes made this year were unfavorable for the players.

  • I like the steel cage, however it should be only one event not every event. Regular tours we have extreme rules. So maybe just a week a month in showdown would be fine.

  • hello!!

Here are my thoughts on the steel cage rules:

good concept but needs to be a finished product before it’s official release. Could be a mainstay in tours and showdowns.

In my opinion it needs to stay away from feuds and boss battle. Boss is already limited by most as it is and adding this feature would make it unenjoyable and ruin this mode. As for feuds I don’t particularly dont want it as an option because if you don’t have the luxury of having 99MP characters it’s going to be a hard pass for most. I’m not looking forward to this weekends flash feud because this is going to add another layer of issues that occur during flash feuds. It should have been a finished product before testing it out during a feud weekend.

  • I think there should be some compensate for an individual who fail to complete any milestone (by some points) and that has to be proportional to the points he scored.

Secondly, there should be some mechanism to exchange one currency into another at price wall. (Blitz tickets)

Thirdly, limited tour battles are fewer if compared to max milestone, there can be some minimum rewards at every time we repeat a match.

Fourthly, deadmen daily rewards are too less if compared to higher league. They should be proportionate to league level.

Steel Cage Rules provides a solid alternative way to play. Our rosters have a lot of people on them and any chance to use posters I wouldn't normally use can only be a positive. In the future, I would like to see the mode expanded. For example, restrict damage to only certain color moves and gems. You could also present a time limit for the match. A steel cage is supposed to restrict and challenge, so I would like to see it go further. Just please remember that it should also be able to be completed. Don't just crank up the difficulty and wish us luck. A path to victory should always be available.

This is a positive step forward. I am always excited to try new modes and ways to play.

  • I think it's a good idea 💡 but i think it should only add more Abilities, not take away some abilities an only let you use certain things if anything we should be Allow to use more things

After playing the entire event I can note the following:

    Good:

    1. Overall a good new mode (Steel Cage Rules). (I wrote my review about it in the appropriate section. Therefore, I’ll classify it as good rather than bad).
    2. Good character (good coaching ability, don't know the rest).
    3. SD mode (this time, in general, it was not even necessary to spend a large amount of time to close the event. And the characters required in general were very accessible.)
    4. Tours (interesting thanks to the new mode. With good prizes.)

    Bad:

    1. "Faction event" (the most disgusting donation event with disgusting offers.)
    2. Second week prize wall (actually take nothing without having at least 200 slices of pizza)

Let's sum it up: Overall a good week and the TMNT event was great. The second week was bad only because of the faction event. I hope there won’t be any stupid donation events in the future (although who am I kidding? There will be even more.) The new mode also needs improvement, even more so in the balance of the choice of disabled and improved techniques and abilities. I give the second week 7/10, the event as a whole 10/10

  • I like the concept of steel cage, but like a lot of comments on here feel that it should only be for tours much like how extreme rules is. I feel like the tours in the week pitting everyone against 99mp TMMT posters will have rubbed the community the wrong way as everyone's first experience with steel cage rules felt like an unfair mismatch.

Why not include it in showdown? Showdown has energy restrictions and gives players less opportunity to play around and test how a character would perform with steel cage rules - that combined with +99 mp perk posters can make the mode very difficult and more challenging that fun for a lot of players.

Why not include it in feud?

Likewise feud can be a very time consuming game mode, and as it's only on the weekend, when players want to finish as fast as possible and maybe enjoy the rest of their weekend doing other things, these restrictions effectively restrict players from using who they want and already after the 1st feud all of my encounters were against 99mp people. The only restriction I think I'd like to see in feud is the 99mp, as it always feels like the same posters over and over in feud.

So whilst I'm.not against steel cage staying, I don't want to see it in showdown and feud - the only exception would be if it removed the 99mp perk - which I'm starting to hate now as every feud/showdown feels like the same matches over and over.

Not a fan at all, why would I want to spend my hard earned money on this game to suddenly not be able to use what I paid for. Nobody asked for it and it makes zero sense. I would rather the developers work on the things that make every day better like eliminating the daily stars, they are so outdated and obsolete. How about updating the daily bags to the 19th century instead of giving out 3 star tokens…or have the Sunday daily bag give relevant rewards instead of garbage…just sayin

  • Already gave a detailed feedback about steel cage in main event but my 2 cents here too

Steel Cage Tours: While I like the premise of getting creative and using different characters the tours weren’t the best use of it, especially since it blocked entourage and didn’t offer any boosts. It was very frustrating, especially since the opponents are not bound by the same steel cage rules as the player. I think either specific CSS boosts should be provided or opponents should be bound by same limitations as players

Steel Cage SD: Contrary to the steel cage tours steel cage SD was really enjoyable specially with the boosts helping players to use different posters in new and effective way

I am not a fan of the steel cage mode. It eliminates entourages and skill plates with a lot of people have spent a lot of time and money on. It defeats the whole purpose of building up certain characters to use especially has trainers and coaches if all of a sudden now I can't use them.

  • After having tried all three modes with steel cage rules this week (tour, showdown, feud), I think I have organized a few thoughts from the perspective of someone who's played for a long time and spent quite a bit on the game. Full disclosure straight up, I did not enjoy steel cage as-is, but I am going to try to present both positive and negative points here.

    The Good:

The mode does require you to think more about your roster and experiment with cards and movesets you otherwise may not use. Buffing certain gems is a smart way to encourage playstyles and get people to think outside the box.

For people who don't spend a lot of time, money, or both, this does represent a more fair fight. It does bring the gameplay more into focus rather than who has the best auxiliary pieces to boost their wrestler.

    The Bad:

On the flipside of that point, it does not feel good to have worked and spent to get all those things and then be told you can't use them. Particularly with how harsh the implementation was in this trial run. We were banned from using titles, entourage, props, AND moments, which felt very restrictive. It may be more back to basics, but I think you could still retain some of the strategic challenge only restricting certain elements instead of absolutely everything.

We have to talk about that tour. Turtle Seth was not a fair challenge at all. He was allowed MP trainers when we weren't, and there was absolutely no way to stop him. His green sub started loaded, which he used to make blue, which charged the finisher, which made green, which charged the sub, all while keeping our MP down and there was nothing we could do about it. Can't use props to fill our moves or reduce his, can't use submissions because he had a sub reversal equipped. I know I gave up on using a CSS there and just resorted to Ozzy to brute force it, and I have to imagine I'm not even close to alone.

Speaking of Ozzy, he is absolutely TOXIC in this game mode. The 1MP red trap moves fill the entire board, he does massive damage, and showdown and feud were just a sea of Ozzy everywhere you look. I had to refresh showdown sometimes eight times just to find one opponent who wasn't running Ozzy defense, and I did not have a single feud opponent to this point who didn't have him in the lineup. I'm not sure if these two things are bugs, but there's a couple other things I noticed: Ozzy's trap gems can't be overwritten, and I saw him on multiple occasions get four or five extra turns when I used TMNT Kofi to counter his traps. This made fighting an already extremely annoying opponent so unbearable that I stopped wanting to play entirely. I'm leadership in my faction and I am seriously considering pitching a waiver on scoring requirements if steel cage rules are in effect because it just is not fun in a PVP setting.

    My Conclusion:

There are the bones of a really good idea here. Forcing players to deviate from their usual tactics and look deeper at their roster can lead to some fun times and some use for cards that have gathered dust for a little bit. I do think that if you're going to use it again, the playing field has to ACTUALLY be level in single player, and I personally hope it does not come back for PVP modes.

First. All MLC All crossovers must have 1 female. September felt very sexist. Bloodline maybe Queen Nia. Turtles Becky Lynch as April. Crossovers seem to be very male focused. Easily can find a woman in game. Back in Rocky could have had Adriene. In Ghostbusters the secretary both could be special coach or trainers. So maybe all starting move points plus 4. As special then as coach all gems 100% make the entourage so OP people s ok end as that roster changing.

WWe Could use a pure women crossover. Example WWE heroes. So akexa dressed as Bray. Bayley as Eddie. Charlotte as Trish. So on so forth. License ing wont be an issue. So they do 1 or 2 tribute moves. Plus it celebrates 2 superstars ar once.

Lastly 2 superstars who we have several of but they all very poor in current era. Asuka and AJ Styles. 2 of the best in ring superstars. We need a top notch of both superstars.

  • The steel cage rules is a great addition to the game, leveling the playing field much more and allowing for usage of a ton of characters that otherwise would never be used. My only issue with week 2 was the p2w faction contest, while it wouldn't be bad normally, the amount of spending needed was ridiculous.

  • I liked the thought of steel cage rules but the roll out wasn't great feuds and showdown without entourage was a little rough and we grind for plates and belts but then they are nullified

  • Need a non spend way to try and get guys like Seth. Sucks you have to spend just for a chance to get him.

  • While I appreciate the idea of new match requirements, overall I feel the steel cage rules were a negative to the game.

First, it’s been said multiple times…….this is largely a pay-to-win game. Players spend a lot of money to be able to get the best entourage, straps, plates, etc to boost their roster. To then not allow these expensive items to be used is misplaced.

Second, while I do like that the steel cage requirements promote the use of more dated or lower tiered superstars, the notice was fairly short. Meaning, in order to make these posters actually useful, you would’ve had to use up quite a bit of resources that you never intended to use on B-tier stars. Of course, this just means more revenue for Scopely, but in a month that was already overly expensive is a bit greedy on your part.

I do believe the mode can be tweaked, but for now it should stay within tours……not SD or Feuds.

  • Again week 2 of the TNMNT event was great. I would of however liked there to have been more opportunity to get the pizza slices. Other than that I felt like it was a good event.

The general idea of this collaboration was amazing, I enjoyed week 1 and bits of week 2. I liked the integration of the steel cage match it was a fun twist and reminded me of the game before all was added it brought a nice little throwback feeling. But it also made the game feel plain and boring and made it more difficult and tedious. I think that if you're going to remove entourages you should should also take out the facts of + 99 mp characters who will just obliterate you turn 1 if you arent able to set up. Steel cage rules should be strictly a tour like extreme rules is, the whole community spends lots of time and money to have characters specially built for faction fueds and showdowns all for nothing if everyone and anyone get get + 1000% immobile gem boost and deal stupid amounts of damage anyway. Thats why I think it should be left to tours and made like extreme rules.

Although this whole MLC was great in a whole, this may have been the weakest week. Why? Cause Reyphael and Sethenardo were unreachable unless you reached wàaaaay down deep in ur pockets. Broke my heart I couldn't accumulate enough medallions to recruit Reyphael, and the funny things is, I spent three times my normal amount this month, just to get him, and still fell short.

Initial thoughts: "Turtles, have they completely lost their minds"? But after getting into it, and seeing the characters, I was sold on it.

This was actually one of the better themes for a crossover in a long long time. Also love the fact that we get more New Gen characters.

The actual event felt a lot like a reskin of "Rocky". I loved the Rocky event, so this is not to be taken as a complaint. Au contraire.

This 2 week contest should really be divided by 2 reviews:

Week 1 - aka the FTP week.

    • Tours were really good… Actually really really good, not just "fine enough".
    • Lots of options for CSS to use. When I didnt have some of the better, more rare ones, I had other older options, leaving me able to have a chance. This is a textbook example of a good setup.

Boss Battle - 1 day event

    • This had some rough CSS for sure.
    • despite not being a top 100 faction, we managed to get all points from the milestones, so hope of maxing was still alive.

    Blitz Contest:

    • With all the other stuff going on at the same time, (Rosey Showdowns, MLC Blitzes, Bloodline tours 50 x Jimmy Uso ect.), it was nice that the Blitz contest could be completed, relatively easy with leveling up 6 star characters. I actually found myself doing the tasks, even after maxing the contest. That say alot about the contest design!

Every milestone in the Cowabunga Contest had increasing amounts of Pricewall medallions. Really felt like I was getting somewhere. And a free Donatello at gold chest was enticing.

Contemplating whether to buy Michelangelo early for 25k or not… or holding out for Donatello.

This abundance of Prizewall currency, had the same feel to it, as during Rocky or Z Gunther events. (Halloween Havoc Weeklong).

6 Star Gold Token bundle and TP was also at a reasonable price.

TMNT Ressource Loot from the Michelangelo tour was an utter miss for me. 1.2% drop chance is ok I suppose, but felt a bit anti-climatic to do 40 pull, and get just econ™. (Trademark Goldie). Luckily this was just a tiny side part of the contest.

    Week 2

Showdown galore! Yet another super busy week.

    • Love that it felt like getting rewarded for doing the grinds in the SD.
    • Maxing the SD Contest was achievable by FTP, if you had enough of the contest characters. huge plus!

Really REALLY disliked the Premium 6th milestone having 1.000.000 points for the Cowabunga Contest. Felt super "money grabbing" that the Premium week 2 influenced placement in the FTP week 1. Im sure you would have made the same amount of $ without having those points in there.

Would have liked to see some pizza slices in the top milestones of the SD contest, but can understand the desire to make them strictly Premium.

    Steelcage rules:

I can see this being a feature to stay. Im ok with the feature.

It should be an occasional thing, and definitely not as often as crammed into last week.

I dont mind stuff getting disabled for an event. Part of the game, is figuring out how to overcome new challenges, and this is just another day at the office. We adapt for Boss Battles and Stipulation tours as it is, so no game-breaking mechanic in this.

  • Week 1 was ok

Then week 2 hit and realization set

Rey was pretty much unattainable to majority of players

Seth neither so it took away the momentum of the event

Now I enjoy these events collaboration with other themes the problem is just like Rocky and Ghostbusters that we can't get those characters again or shards to level moments

Are you guys going keep tmnt in loop give chances to get rey Seth moment in future events or is it going get put in corner and forgotten like past 2 Ghostbusters and Rocky

Thats really the issue with these events

Maybe one month a year you can do month long of event for all these special characters and maybe add new one but as currently going on it's almost a waste of are time if don't get chances at them again

Example most people only got Cena from Ghostbusters never got a 2nd character to unlock moment these are issues need get addressed

This was actually one of my favorite events of the year we definitely need to have more crossover events like this the only thing I would change is when it came to collecting slices of pizza we should have had a TMNT tour with them in it because it was extremely hard to get the last two turtles.

  • Adoro o conceito das regras da Steel Cage. No entanto, 99mp torna tudo menos inútil.

Rey and woods feel broken the way the moves are written they should dodge all moves if performed right or against the specific class, but they do not prevent subs or finishers. I understand that is how the old dodge mechanic worked but this from what i understood was supposed to be different. Also rey needs a rework he is terrible.

  • I enjoyed the implementation of Steel Cage rules. Made gameplay more interesting and certain characters more viable who normally I would never use . I was very happy with the amount of prize wall coins that were able to be earned , got several very useful tokens and characters. I also like the addition of all the new skill plates. I would hope these plates return in the future as they are a great addition to many straps! The only real critique I have is that 99MP people generally make the steel cage rules less of a restriction since they’re ready to go regardless of nerfs. All in all I really enjoyed the event! Hope to see more turtles in the future. I grabbed the turtle moment because I saw there were two greyed out characters. Praying for Cody!

If my review is selected, I would love to have Turtle Seth Rollins, as he would have the greatest impact on my roster! Thanks

  • missed week two but still loved the theme

  • Nice prizewall to get gains from, but still too many stuff to clear with back to back showdown. Otherwise a cool event.

Enjoyed the TMNT IP and the associated contests. I wish the spend events wouldnt be isolated to just that event, make it for the totality and off of one loot, not multiple loots. That way players dont spend only for a spend event to surprise them later on. Other than that I think this week was a success.
