Dev Diary: We Know You Expected 7-Star…

Champions,

Many of you have been expecting a ceiling raise. We’ve seen the speculation, the requests, and the theory-crafting, and we want to be straight with you: 7-Star isn’t coming right now.

Instead, we’re doing something we think is better. Why? Because star raises don’t solve real problems. They inflate numbers without evolving the fight.

Hype, our new system, will be different.

It gives control. Stat impact. Roster flexibility.

Hype will reward players who think about more than raw damage.

What Hype Will Really Do

Hype is a stat-based power system that rewards control, strategy, and roster investment.

You’ll start with:

  • New stats ON YOUR SUPERSTAR that influence starting turn, total damage, defense, and kickout efficiency
  • Two unlockable tiers (for now)
  • Collectible Hype Points for each Superstar PLUS Wildcard Hype Points
  • Extra boosts on these stats based on the Class Wheel
  • A Feud Warscore reward when your Hyped Up Superstar loses on defense
  • And yes, stat boosts that matter

Not just +5% damage. We’re talking turn order, match control, survivability, and build diversity.

Why This Is a Foundation

We know this might not be the fireworks moment some of you were hoping for — and we get that.

But Hype is just the start; we can build new systems, modes, and reward paths on top of it.

We’re already working on:

  • A Wildcard system for more control over who you upgrade
  • A new Tour challenge that will actually test your choices and skills
  • Continuation of tiers and the ability to customize your Superstar

But evolving how you power up doesn’t stop with Hype alone.

We’re also clearing the path to smarter, smoother progression.

Hall of Fame Superstars will soon use regular tokens!

There will be no more token clutter, and yes, we’re reimbursing your old ones.

The Skill Plate Filter lives!

Still on our roadmap, still in the works, and still loved.

This is just the beginning. Get hype.

What is the rational for providing rewards for LOSING on defense in feuds?

Hey Team, thanks for sharing the new Hype System details — it definitely sounds like an interesting direction. But I’d like to raise a few important points, especially from a Free-to-Play (FTP) or limited spender’s perspective.

    🔹 1. Keep it FTP-Friendly:
Please make sure the Hype system doesn’t become another feature where spenders dominate and FTP players are left behind. There should be a clear path for FTP players to unlock and upgrade Hype tiers gradually — not something locked behind heavy grinding or exclusive resources.

🔹 2. Release a Full Official Guide Before Launch:
We need a proper, detailed guide on the official portal before the system goes live. This includes how to earn Hype points, best usage tips, and class-based bonuses. FTP players plan every move carefully — so clear guidance is crucial.

🔹 3. No Bugs That Favour Spenders:
Let’s be honest — many feud-related bugs still exist and often seem to benefit big factions or top spenders who know workarounds (sometimes via content creators). Hype should launch bug-free and be equally accessible to all, without hidden advantages.

    🔹 4. Responsible Content Creation:
Content creators will surely make videos on Hype setups, which is great — but please keep in mind that 70%+ of the community is FTP or low-spending.

    ✅ Final Thought:
Hype has potential to bring depth to the game — but only if it’s balanced, transparent, and inclusive. Please consider the silent majority of casual and FTP players who truly keep this game alive.

    Thanks! 💬

Hey team! I just read through the new Dev Diary and honestly, I’m pretty excited about where things are headed.

    What I loved:

The Wildcard System gives so much freedom to upgrade the Superstars we actually care about.

The New Tour Challenge sounds amazing finally something that’ll truly test our skill and decisions.

Tier continuation and Superstar customization is a great long-term idea.

The new stat boosts like turn order, defense, survivability etc. make the game feel more strategic, not just about raw damage.

Hype Points and Wildcard Hype Points sound like they’ll add depth to progression without being confusing.

Extra stat boosts based on the Class Wheel and Feud Warscore rewards are the cherry on top.

This really feels like a smart foundation for the future. Big respect to the devs for thinking beyond just short-term buffs. Looking forward to the AMA I’ve got a few questions ready! 😄

hype sounds like just the thing I needed to push me to finally quit the game. Thanks for making things more complicated. I just wanted to play my favorite stars. I finally get King Kong bundy in the game but not before 500 versions of Seth Rollins. Where’s hawk and animal, demolition, coco b ware, hands of stone Ronny garvin, don the rock Morocco, rock and roll express, hillbilly Jim? Thanks a lot scopes

Adding another point system, currency, and/or stat evolution process on top of the levels, move levels, star level, entourage, skill plates, perks, and moments seems like an incredibly stupid idea.

You've already "fixed" showdown by creating a problem that did not previously exist and then selling us the solution to that problem. You completely neutered the showdown coins promotors by paying out ridiculously small amounts of tokens after matches.

You've "fixed" stipulation tours by making them boringly unplayable and paying out a useless amount of currency for what you priced the prizewall at.

You've proven unable or unwilling to fix the lags, delays, disconnects, and generally poor performance of boss battles.

Every few months you radically redefine the MLC so that now talent ups are worthless, hugely wasteful of resources unless you happen to spend a lot of tokens in the evolution. So its not "talent up" it just "tokens spend", but the rate that you've given out 6 star golds means we don't need to spend tokens.

We can't get a remove option in brawl squads, we can't sort our rosters or our entourage like we can the titles. Things we've asked for for years.

If this is what has been passing for "fixing" the game...I have no faith for what this hype system is going to bring. I will try it, of course. But this seems like a really convenient jumping off point if its not immediately life enhancing.
