How to tell which gears are which?

As were talking 2025 roadmaps and beyond for WWEC, I'd love to see the Devs redesign all things gears, as their usage can even be hampered by confusing layouts in the game that are not well explained IMO.

Take a card with multiple gears like Acro AJ for example. If I wanted to unlock his gear to start with more blue MP, it's not easy to tell which is which. Clicking each gear should highlight what it does on the Boosts list but it doesn't so how can I tell which gears are which?

At first I thought it corresponded to the Boosts menu by what you unlocked vs what you didn't unlock, from left to right, as per the diagram below:

…but that can't be right because then I'd have gears 3 & 4 instead of gears 2 & 3.

Can anyone explain the order here, and how to easily tell which gears are for which? Thanks for the help!

    It's not the gear that provides the a specific boost. It's the number of gears you have. For AJ if you have his 5th and 4th gear you would still have color turn gems do 15% more damage and color turn gems do 20% more damage. Another example would be hall of fame Ron Simmons if you have his gold gear only you get +4 mp. If you also have his silver gear you get the 200% power gem damage as well as the 4 mp.
