IOW Macho Man Replaced by IOW Mick Foley?

Two questions, just out of curiosity:

1) Why the replacement?

2) For those of us who had previously recruited Macho Man, why was he not simply replaced with Mick Foley in our roster? Granted, this hasn't happened every time a Superstar has been replaced/reskinned in the game, but it has happened before.

The blog post on the change should explain the logistics. The first issue is a licensing issue, the second is the simplicity in making a new superstar available rather than trying to claw back old versions

All the blog stated was that it will change our current Macho Man Shards to Mick Foley Shards. No explanation if Macho is being reskinned or to Mick for us who have recruited him already. it seems like us players who have macho would have to grind to get foley again.

With his implementation, we will REPLACE the Randy Savage “Icons of WrestleMania” Shards in the Showdown Shop with the new Mick Foley Shards. Everyone with Randy Savage Shards will get the same amount of Mick Foley Shards in their Inventory.

He will have the same Move Effects and Promoter abilities as Randy Savage, but with different names and animations.

We plan to do the implementation and switch today, December 13th.

I have the same doubt, if we already have the Superstar and the change is required due to licensing issues, then we should simply receive the new character.

I believe it's also a class change for the IOW change, too.

You keep the iow macho man you already have on your roster and have the opportunity to earn foley if you want him in the shop, same as those who didn’t have iow macho man. You lose nothing and if you had shards already it’s a head start, his training ability is also exactly the same
