A Brand New Showdown Experience

So me saying in my previous post it was the "Community Manager" and there's only one of those? Kinda obvious who that was directed at, considering several other people in this thread have called him out for it as well.

So I'm at league 4 and to get to league 5 I need to win 4 PvP matches. I only have 1 superstar who matches the PvP requirements, but it looks like it needs 4 in order to even get in to compete. At this stage in the game I'm stuck at league 4 until something changes with the PvP mode. Is this intended? I did buy some tokens to try and get some superstars that would help, but after spending $80 or so I still don't have 4 of any superstar type, and even if I do get in to the PvP system it looks like I won't be winning 4 matches any time soon. Is there a way that PvP can be decoupled from the League system? At least until it's fixed?

Showdown use to be my favorite mode but many of the recent changes have changed that.

Being forced to use a certain class:

On one hand, I actually like this idea as it prevents everyone from using the same person all the time. I certainly got tired of playing nothing but King Booker and KO all the time. On the other hand, it really hurts people who may not have a great all around roster and those are the people who need the SD coins the most so they can buy upgrades and potentially new characters.

Energy system:

To me, this one feels like a money grab. In fairness, I haven't done the math but I don't think the timer system is allowing me to gain more than the 1600 coins per day I could get under the old system. However, for those willing to spend money, they can definitely gain an advantage by purchasing more energy. I will add that although I don't like this idea, it's actually the change that bothers me the least.

Defense:

Ok, this is where I'm going to be a bit more negative. Forget about the class requirements as covered above. My biggest issue is that losing on defense hurts us but we get absolutely nothing for winning. No reputation points, no win streak, no coins, literally nothing. On the other hand, if you lose it breaks your streak and you lose reputation points. Let's not even get into the fact that our AI counterparts often play horribly. Personally, simply eliminating defense from Showdown and making it 100% offensive would be a massive improvement.

While I'm leaving out several issues I have here, I'm going to finish with my complaint about the ranking system in the new weekend events. Previously, getting to 1500 points was a grind and there was always that concern that I might get knocked below after going to bed but at least I knew that I just had to make it to Midnight PST and I'd get all of my coins.

With the new setup, it's nice that we can earn way more coins but I hate the fact that the expectation is that we have to spend an entire weekend playing non-stop. I went to bed ranked around 700 and woke up ranked around 3000. I only lost a single match on defense (I also won a match but of course that means nothing). In the past, that single loss would have had minimal impact but now it's about how many people are playing while I'm sleeping.

Some people may be ok with playing all the time, but personally, I didn't sign up for a job. I'd rather spend an hour or two on a Saturday night and then enjoy some family time.
