This is literally and I do mean literally the furthest thing possible from "communist" by the way. It's bad, yes, but words mean things.

    Initial thoughts

The energy is the most frustrating thing. Showdown was always a great place to try out cards, builds, etc etc... but it stinks now to those that. I knew I could find solid 6stars like feud and no props and could try builds, cards, etc etc, but with the energy and the streak, this is now lost.

The restrictions for def and using that against players is a double negative effort. If we are limit we shouldn't be harmed, if we can place anyone, then I understand the harm factor.

Layout is a huge win, saw a couple mention that, love the lay out

Store is a win as well, a few others mentioned

restricting who to use, this can be fun and force more use of our rosters. I maybe one of a few who like this, but always seemed strange to have to build a roster only to only use 2/3 cards for everything, so forcing more use of the roster I am enjoying. I hope this gets creative, M/F, F/F various tag links like the judgement day, etc etc

Giving hope to seeing what can be done with forcing certain classes/eras to come. This can be fun and will wait and see

The Energy and not being able to play showdown when I want sucks, Wish it was still unlimited or even ta higher limit of 10-20 instead of 6 would be nice.

Overall seems more positive than negative for me, but tweaks needed for sure.

I'm here to throw my 2 cents onto this steaming pile of hot trash you have created.

Yes SD needed a revamp but what you have put out is just plain old capitalism at its absolute worst.

Did you guys hire Martin Shkreli for this project? Because the last time I saw something this bad he was at the helm of it.

I swear on everything, I don't care what you offer. I will never spend a single cent to play Showdown and I've already chosen not to renew the backstage pass this week and would have not renewed my king of kings pass had I seen showdown before hand. I'm speaking out here and I'm speaking out with my wallet in game.

Tear down the pay wall on showdown or lose the money I normally spend in other areas of the game. It's that simple.

Even the new visuals in the mode are too much. Everything seems too busy on the screen now and is overwhelming to the senses.

The only compliment I can give is in regards to the new SD store but all the other errors completely take away from that.

I can't stress this enough, you have completely dropped the ball with SD and told your players we are all clearly only consumers and definitely not a community.

  • I thought the revamp was supposed to solve the problem of having terrible opponent matchups. But it's still the same mechanic of having three teams to choose from, and spend tons of coin to try and find one that isn't way above your talent and doesn't have an impossible maxed out rare Superstar.

If defense losses are going to take out your winning streak, it seems kind of unfair that you can be attacked and beaten twice in the span of like 5 minutes. (another thing I thought was mentioned that was going to be fixed a long while ago.)

Since there no longer seems to be a max for the number of Showdown coins you are allowed to earn in a day, the energy system doesn't seem too bad. But from a "keeping the game balanced" perspective, it does seem to be another thing that gives unfair advantage to those willing to spend.

I'm concerned about how this is going to affect the Showdown events, where you had to win a bazillion matches with x Superstar to get anywhere with rewards. Hopefully there will still be some reasonably attainable milestones in that.

I mostly enjoyed Showdown before, and thought it just needed some adjustments on having better opponent matchups. Feels like they went and made it more complicated than it really needed to be.

Aside from the fact that the energy system is a joke, for something that even for spenders was supposed to have a cap, it sure turned into pay-to-play real quick. WTF! I don't mind the weekly class battle requirements, but as usual the store prices miss the mark. Esp for this being such a slooooow grind.

The energy system was a bad idea. People moaned it was a bad idea when they heard about it, and now it's showing itself to be a bad idea. Take it away. Or shorten the time. 4hrs is ridiculous.

We were made to spend all our showdown coins so "everyone can be on equal footing". Except that this never has been an "equal footing game". And this mode is another demonstration that there isn't equal footing. It's not about hard work, dedication to the grind and persistence. It's about who can open their wallet the most and for the most amount.

no, it's being forced on, without choice, and dictated without your consent. a communist move. enjoy it.

After 24 hours the new showdown is even worse that I first feared, and the matchmaking is generating obscenely overpowered opponents even after a number of consecutive losses. It’s a complete joke

That's not what communism is champ. That'd be authoritarianism more than anything.

After playing SD pretty extensively, I genuinely believe the biggest problem is the lack of stamina. If it regenerated faster, than 99% of the issues with the overhaul would go away. That's the most constructive criticism I can possibly give. In the form it is now, it's a mess.

So you lose notoriety and your streak for a defensive loss but you get nothing at all for a defensive win? This doesn’t seem right

As i said before xD Scopely does the Catdaddy move but in a worse way. Spend Money for SD Energy like wwe supercard for ring domination rtg and so on

So none of you actually going to bother acknowledging any of this? Any sort of response even if it's just your canned response of "this has been passed to the team to review"?

I get it, that's all you can do, but I'd expect something at least at this point?

admin are just bots selling for the highest bigger.

  • honestly, kinda ruined showdown mode for me. with the whole energy system, it is now harder to complete league objectives. kinda loved the grind in order to rank up.

Now with the limit, i play showdown alot less, even thou it is easier to rank up and honestly get more coins per day compared to the previous format. it doesnt reward players who love to grind and get rewarded based on the grind. and yea the whole pay to play more is very unfair in my opinion

  • Jeckel837620

PvP now consists of 6 free games every 24 hours & then you need to pay 90c per match if you want to play more.

This will obviously come to feuds ..

I feel sorry for new players.

  • Just made an account to say, this energy business is clearly bad when applied to events. If players want to optimise the number of event matches they can play, they would need to go into it with their energy full, meaning they would have had to avoid playing the regular showdown matches beforehand. What is the point of a mechanic that disincentives players from playing your own game?

I like the new showdown with the exception of two problems.

    1. Is the matchmaking is not even. I haven't played in a year and I'm so far behind yet I keep getting opponents that are 3 times my total levels.

    2. Is when we get beat by someone else we lose notoriety but if we win that match we gain nothing. That doesn't seem right to me.

    1) Will the regular weekly Showdown rotate and require the use of a different class each week?

1a) Same question regarding the limited-time Showdown events, such as when new Superstars debut in the game with an associated Showdown event.

    2) Will either type of Showdown ever be open choice, i.e. no class requirements?

You can keep your showdown as its crap preffered the old showdown ill not be using the new showdown

  • DKMangler

Hello David, yes the requirements should change week to week. No word on if any of the rotations include full open slots but I wouldn’t rule it out

So when are you planning to post this in, you know, the main thread? Along with all the other complaints that need addressing?

  • ForceWolf66
    ForceWolf66 Member ✭✭

Appreciated, but not the response needed. This needs a full response (preferably from our beloved community manager after his earlier patronising) confirming that ALL the complaints in this thread have been noted, passed to the team and acknowledging that there are issues.

Or you could just ignore as you have done for the last week or whatever.

I try not to bust on the mods too much, since their influence is limited, but the absolute silence on this is ludicrous.

That being said, as per my previous post, someone owes everyone on this forum an apology for his insulting and patronising bad take.
