What's the direction of the game?

Lately there have been new things that make me hesitant to spend and keep this game around.
- Using limited blitz tickets instead of normal ones.
- Capping the SD points on SD events
- The only week event this last week is a pay only event.
Each of these things take away the ability to even play the game. Is the trend going to continue to deter people from grinding their way to victory? If so, I guess I'm done with the game.

It's more to prevent an exploit than to prevent grinding when it comes to the SD coins. Not all events are meant to have a grind component and some are totally spend oriented.

Gameplay is now a complete afterthought, unfortunately. There is no aspect of the game that rewards roster development or clever gameplay for 99.99% of players. No matter how hard you play or spend, every event that follows just throws up yet another paywall.
- SD no longer rewards defensive wins, so a huge element of strategy has been removed from this mode. These events are now just a case of mindlessly beating fodder teams.
- Feud seemed to be heading in a good direction with the addition of a superstar contest but after 1 event was changed to a victory contest for those who spent huge money for all the CSS. Most players were completely excluded with an obscene amount of wins needed.
- Faction boss has been a fantastic addition to the game but is worryingly removing all strategy and becoming a case of having the specific character(s) tear through the boss in seconds.
- Stipulation tours are being played completely against the intention of the mode with every single day being a case of stacking as much damage as possible rather than generating/breaking the specific gems of that day.
- Let's throw in the farce of the grand tournament just for fun.
We all understand that the game has to make money, but if we have no incentive to obtain new characters or make our rosters stronger, we don't have a reason to spend.
Showdown, feud, and faction boss could all have side-contests separate from the new release solo contest that actually encourage gameplay. Offer medallions/coins/tokens etc that can be used on a prize wall. The more we play or the higher we score, the more we can earn. The prizewall could offer shards of characters from the month prior, rare gears, posters, class/era-specific straps, medals, etc.
This would give every player a reason to try to better their roster. The more engaged players are, the more they are willing to spend to progress. If gameplay is meaningless, why would I spend to chase the weekly OP release?
Side note: exploits come from your own mistakes/bugs that haven't been fixed. Either fix them and have a level playing field or stop punishing all your customers for your own issues.

I can just confirm to all of what you said, especially the last sentence. There is and will never be a decent quality "audit" at Big $ before something goes online. Again, the Victory Tour was free 4 all for couple of hours before they got it fixed (same like the free Acro Warrior, the big exploit of flash market, or the strange 80 premium pulls given mistakenly by a dev which also brings up some new questions about the "healthy game economy" the company is setting up) and we can bet our souls that on every new event (monthlong or weekend does not matter) there are huge bugs - not talking about performance issues etc.
