Question RE : Changes to Web Coins and Trivia Energy
Comments
-
Wow 5 a day free .. do we get to keep what we all ready have ?
1 -
Thanks for confirming the cash grab. "Buy our stuff on the portal to get the most webcoins".
5 -
you will get 3 fee.2 buy. max 440 web coins everyday
2 -
Again similar point of view as most of your custom base. I feel their is middle ground somewhere. Like 5 trivias isnt enough i will log in for 10 mins and logout again.
You actually developed something that your players got excited about and now your basically paywalling it. While not really fixing any of the other issued that need fixing because your potentially losing abit of revenue. This is probably the quickest ive ever seen a fix meanwhile still get red ring in feuds
6 -
To further my point, even if you just straight up buy webcoins it's still 200 bucks at current prices, for again what is just a portal avatar. Of course the webcoin shop means those avatars will never be purchased, I merely mention them for comparison sake
3 -
And that's nothing, when items costs hundreds of web coins, characters cost thousands, and the cheapest reset is 99 webcoins. 440 webcoins isn't even enough to buy 50 shards of a character.
2 -
Completely second this opinion. I've made my thoughts known in this thread and they're close on the same so....yeah
3 -
Limiting to 2x purchases of web coins per day, and still having the 32 energy available for 685 web coins is a very reasonable middle ground.
Most of the players I'd spoken with understood that this was going to be the limitation and were far more understanding of Scopely's position.
1 -
rip to those who didnt get iowm charlotte. they need to grind for 83 days to get her now.
2 -
@DKMangler I believe this 👆️ is THE question right now....do you mind shedding some more light? TY

I think the nerf was way too harsh, while I agree unlimited energy purchases are OP, the nerf should have been to make it so you could only purchase 64 energy a day, instead of 2 so that way you can actually purchase things on the flash market each day.
2 -
As always you can never find a middle ground in this game. You either get something really really good or really really bad, there's never the ok/acceptable option. Those changes make the web coin market 0% attractive and a store in disguise where you basically have to pay to continue to get more items. Terrible solution that does not surprise anyone. Come back next month with a proper solution, like unlimited farming and higher prices or remove a 0 from each item, it would at least give us something to work rather the same boring MLC formula, at this point we don't even need a blog to know what's coming and how it's gonna work.
11 -
I think the nerf was too much, it should have been 2 purchases of up to 32 energy each, so that way we can afford things on the flash market daily, instead of it being 2 energy. This nerf is far too harsh

This has got to be the biggest slap to the face of your fanbase as i've ever seen by a company. Yes something should've changed because it was a little too easy. I think we all understand that, but to make it virtually unuseable? No. That was definitely not the right answer. I already spend on your game, this makes me want to spend less. Way less. It's ok though, we will get 5 player appreciation gift boxes. (btw, keep your 5k coin prizes or whatever. When it takes MILLIONS and MILLIONS to upgrade your character it shows how much you really think of your customer base to give us 5k or 6k coins). Make a compromise with your base and be fair for once.

the energy regeneration every 45 minutes will be active according to the support.if thats the case it wont be that bad.also they said trivia energy packs purchasable would be limited to 2.support said complete opposite

What a Lowly decision Now tell me what happens to the saved energies are You gonna take those away to and reward them to the money spenders? Like you always do
1 -
it is one of the big problems of scopely, they only listen to the whales and believe that they represent their community of players, when that is not the case, Unfortunately they only see the way to earn money and not the way to generate fun in the players, good comment...
4 -
From one extreme to the other, a ridiculous overcorrection
5 -
1 step forward, 7 steps back with Scopely. Was the unlimited farming of trivia a bit over the top? Yeah, it was. No one will dispute that. Is this the way of fixing that? Absolutely not. People in my faction said we'd be able to buy 2x32 energy packs per day. I said that's not how it was worded, as vague as the announcement was. I hate that I was right.
It's just utterly inconceivable that Scopely worked on this new webstore and NO ONE at a multi-billion dollar company said "Hey, this is gonna mess up the "economy". Bunch of goddamn clowns. Instead of "fixing" something that wasn't broken, how about you fix the crashes. The red rings. All the issues with the game that people have been complaining about for the last 5 years.
I've been saying for years that 2000 people spending $10 is a MUCH better business plan than 10 people spending $2000. You guys really need to get your head out of the sand. This entire farce is just ridiculous.

What about this is broken and warped when people in the top 15 factions are dropping thousands of dollars a month to gain a competitive edge and achieve an army of 5sg? If anything, this was a balance of a scales for the rest of the players of this game to be able to compete on some semblance of a level and not take forever and a blue moon to get 1 5sg. And yet, in spite of that, the top players had access to that same resource.
But rather than compete against the people grinding to get better rosters, they moaned as they always do. Just like they moaned when people were pulling The Rock out of bags with high frequency and got Scopely to nerf the bag rates. Just like they always do. Just like how when thousands of players engaged in spending bans during spring of 2020, they kept spending. Because their desire to maintain their competitive edge comes at the expense of the community at large.
The need for grinding came because of the cost of items, which, while we can all take issue with it, was still pretty fair. Most items cost a good amount of webcoins. Webcoins if bought, aren't cheap. Neither is the time required to consistently play the game of "do trivia, buy energy, do more trivia, buy more energy". And this notion that people were somehow spending less time in the game because they were grinding trivia is nonsense. The whole purpose of it in the first place was to improve resources, and rosters to better play the game. It's not like people were missing out on faction tasks and missing faction minimums as a result of it. Fact is, more people got Alundra as a result, and some people weren't happy with that.

Once again overcorrecting a problem you yourselves made. Completely removes the point of having the market - essentially a ruby market version 2 - but the bare minimum per day free so you can get away with calling it free to play...
Disappointed but unsurprised - alienates a lot of the community who are now less likely to spend.
We all agree unlimited trivia probably not the best idea, but there was a middle ground which you've ignored. I hope you reconsider a middle ground but i'll be shocked if you do.

Also the star fragments need to be added in flash market .
Considering the number of superstars present in the game ,plus the cost of the 5th star alone for just one superstar being 5k , the amount of star fragments attained from SD is very less

"It's not like people were missing out on faction tasks and missing faction minimums as a result of it."
In another forum, a poster who claimed they were with a "Top 10 faction" actually claimed people weren't doing faction stuff or feuding because of trivia.
So - instead of getting their own house in order, they complain and punish the masses. Typical selfish behavior.
3 -
I was able to play trivia on my pc, while also playing the game on my phone at the same time. Didn't really keep me from being productive in the game...
As others have said, the 'economy' thing sounds like a lame excuse. I've been playing for years, spend here and there but not huge amounts. And I only fairly recently have been able to get some 5*silvers, and a few levels away from my first 5*gold. I can't even imagine what it's like for someone trying to start the game from scratch at this point!
Probably unpopular opinion/suggestion, but heck, I'd put up with like a 15-30 second ad to get more energy packs. Then Scopely is still getting some $ and I'm not having to spend mine.
4 -
It is definitely a disappointment that Scopely did not listen to the majority of its community but only to a privileged group.
That many people benefited from the Flash Market and a change was needed is true, and 100% of those who comment here agree with that, but that you turn something good into something useless And rubbish, it just shows that you are not interested in our opinion, you are only interested in our money and nothing else.
It really isn't fair what they've done, destroying a part of the game where everyone (including the whales) gets resources to improve their squad... I'll give you an example: To complete the daily event of evolution and coins you need 17M coins at least...in which part of the game can you get that amount of coins per day? Explain it to me please...perhaps Is it in the white boxes of each fight? Where they only give you a maximum of 2k coins? How many fights do I have to do a day to even reach 1M? Also the TPs? In those same boxes are obtained? Where on average do you get 5tp!!!!
It seems to me that you are killing the game and selling false advertising, it is better to be sincere and in the play store put that it is a pay-to-win game and almost that it is a pay-to-play game.
There are still things in the game that you don't fix and you prefer to damage this instead of looking for a solution that benefits everyone... it's sad what they have done.
I know that writing here is a waste of time, and that this forum has not been heard or taken into account, but somewhere it had to be said.
With all the respect they deserve, I can only tell you:
THANK SCOPELY FOR NOT LISTENING TO YOUR COMMUNITY.
12 -
I agree with your idea but Scopely doesn't seem to care what their community thinks.
4 -
I agree
Even just 32 runs a day would have been good
But with 5 runs per day we won't be able to buy anything from Web shop
3 -
Like everyone else, I have tolerated the regular, minor BS that comes along with this game (frequent bugs, having to deal with “support,” etc.), but due to the many, many solid reasons that this is TOTAL BS already expressed by others I think I will need to finally quit spending on this game after 5 years of being treated like garbage.
I’d be embarrassed and second-guessing my career choices if I worked for a company that treats it’s supporters and customers like this. Even being a moderator here has to feel like you’re doing the devil’s work on some level.
