Additional Plate Currency

I first want to say that the addition of the plate prize wall has been a welcome addition to the game. The ability to choose the plates that we need throughout the month has been a great quality of life change to the game.

With that being said, we are extremely limited with the plate currency provided through the game. The 10 plate currency provided to F2P and 20 for those subscribed to the strap pass makes people less likely to chase some of the more rare plates that are offered in events throughout the month. There needs to be a way to gain more opportunities to make plate adjustments throughout the month. A few options could be:

Make the reset weekly instead of monthly

Instead of using 10 for every removal, make it a one for one removal

Allow us to sell plates to gain additional currency

Allow the bits to stack and not reset month over a month if not used.

    I fully agree with Donjay. The plate currency has needed a revamp for AGES. For those of us who are paying for the Strap Pass there needs to be some changes made and Donjay has provided multiple solutions to our current problem.

    This something that been overdue with a lot of different stuff in the game we talking long term to give the game more value and life ….. only being able to change skills plates once or twice a month is for the birds TBT and we need an quick change this asap I don’t some many plates I can’t even use due to this it’s crazy and frustrating

    I do agree as well maybe add more to the faction store instead of 1k coins for 200 or up the amount for strap expeditions

    Yes it is a shame that you can't move a plate from one poster to another without waiting a month if the other poster has a plate already equipped. With some plates being very limited, there should be more opportunity to move them even if it costs a different form of resources to get more opportunities.

    I agree with Donjay. I thought about spending to get resources for this Hogan plate, but since my removal currency is already gone for the month, I don’t see the point. In fact my bits for the next two months are already spoken for. It’s a limiting factor in the game and I don’t really see the point. Almost everything else can be bought or grinded for, but this is hard capped, and hard capped at a ridiculously low level. Please fix this. It would be a win-win for Scopely and the player base.

    Being restricted to 1/2 moves per month is nonsensical and if anything, is costing scopely money. Why would players spend to chase rare plates if they can’t even move them onto their characters.

    I’ve heard multiple interesting ideas for builds but players just don’t have the opportunity to even test them because they need to sacrifice an entire month just to try one setup.

    Either change the cost to 1 bit per move or just remove the cost of removal entirely. This is long overdue.

    I've been using the strap-up pass for a few months now and lately I'm not even sure it's worth it. One of the big selling points to me was the extra plate move, which I think is just how indicative of how rough the current system is. Sure, some people, myself included could make some smarter decisions in advance, but what about when someone has a plate in use that could go on a new character they acquire?

    I think even for me counting on 2 moves a month, I still have potentially 2-3 months worth of ideas at this point. My idea has always been a dream where strap pass gets 4 moves, but I agree with everyone that I think the system needs a little overhaul. I know the gameplay issues that could arise being a free for all, but I wish it would be loosened up in some capacity. Heck, I love the idea of weekly. I think it still puts enough of a "lock" on things to prevent rampant swapping of stuff, and allows players more flexibility to customize their characters.

    Especially with the past few months with the massive wave of plate prize wall coins, I wish there would be some changes made to plate removal to make the game a little better for the player base.

    This would be a very welcome change. At the very least it should reset weekly of its going to continue to be such a small number, or make it monthly and lower the cost to 1 point, giving f2p 10 and those who pay 20 opportunities to swap staps throughout the month. Along with a method to organize straps are the two most glaring needs that could be easily resolved.

    I think either increasing the number of times players can remove and replace skill plate or straight up removing the currency makes sense… especially with players who have skill plates and it would take a minimum of one to two months to swap out skill plates… WHY? Just to have players pay for the belt subscription? That’s overpriced and I’m not spending extra for an added feature to the game

  • This is honestly my biggest problem with the game right now. It should really only cost 1 for 1 removal. It's a shame getting interesting looking new skill plates for some of my superstars and not even wanting to test it for myself because I could end up stuck with it for months if I don't like it.

    It definitely disincentives Skill plate chasing, usage, and testing having such a tight lock on what you can do, Will forward the feedback to the team.

    I couldn't agree more with OP. It is way too restricted for changing plates.

    I think it should be more like trainers and coaches. Sure, it costs a bit, but it's a justifiable amount.

    @Donjay56 Totally nailed it with his comments about revamping the skill plate currency. By now it is long overdue. With new skill plates being featured as part of the MLC rewards, having the necessary currency to move/swap skill plates around is a most definitely a value add for the entire Champions community both F2P and P2P alike. As a current strap up pass subscriber, it's increasingly frustrating to only be able to make 1 or 2 skill plate swaps per month. Scopely Dev team should strongly consider revamping the currency for skill plates in a future update.

    Donjay has very valid points and easy fixes. I do understand that you are trying to make it so plates aren’t swapped out continuously, but why? If a player wants to swap them out, based on factors from a match, then why shouldn’t they? There are quite a few options given, as to how to “fix” it in this thread. Even if there were an increasing cost, starting at 1 and increasing by one for each swap, to a max of say 5 per plate swap daily, but the currency should either be auto replenishing or worked into faction quests.

    I agree with this, there needs to be more plate removal currency. We are not asking for a crazy amount, we are just asking for more to allow us to use the new plates we get and be able to try and use them on different cards to see which we like the most on each card. Please make them available, even if it's grind or some sort of currency paid.

    You can move one plate a month. 2 if you pay for the strap up pass. Not enough to keep up with the changing Meta and new plates that come out. This should not be a capped resource.

    I know I already made one post ITT, but I think this week especially with the "fixing" of some skill plates, I think it's all the more reason why I think something should be done for the player base. We're collectively already pretty tight on moves we can make during any given month, but the new way some plates operates opens up a whole new world IMO of ways to play/build characters and their straps.

    I never want to sound entitled or anything, but it's a real bummer to open up a whole new avenue for potential plate moves on characters while we're already cramped in being able to move stuff around.

    The most recent updates and changes are a good thing but the amount of coin needed to max all the coin events vs the amount of available coin should be looked at

    Please make more tours with high coin payout available

    I wanted to come back to my original post and say thank you for listening to our concerns for additional plate parts. The update is greatly appreciated. Would still love the ability to sell plates for parts, but this is definitely welcomed just the same.
