LEX LUGER “WOLFPAC” DEBUT + Giveaway

Thank you for the opportunity to provide feedback.
Contest Design
A) I like the idea of moving the loot pull contest to its own entity with the caveat that the showdown contest be free to max for those individuals with all of the bonus characters. Needing to spend loot coins to max both events isn't fair for my free to play friends.
B) The flash market has been worthless to any top account as of late. More bags must be put earlier in the milestones and a better reward for completing the market. Why in the world would someone spend $500+ for 5 million coins and a silver shard bag?
C) Could we meet in the middle on loot coins and make feature character shards more common at lower amounts? Throw 2-10 shards in the common, and at least progress will be made from the pulls.
D) Overall, a really fun event that was obviously trying things. Kudos to you for doing so!

I feel like the contest are starting to level out more and in general FTP players are getting more of a shot to obtain weekend characters. I do however wish that not so many points were given for upgrading the weekend character and more points were spread under the different specific player requirements.

Great character
Wish more solo points without paying

Lex Luger "Wolfpac" Contest Feedback
The Character
Awesome to have another Lex finally. You could absolutely do a Trickster "Total Package" late WCW version or the Heroic '96/'97 WCW Luger as a Striker/Tech. Looks great model-wise and great choices for his move animations. His builds look impressive. He is on my wanted list. Wish we still had Wolfpac Sting available to get to go with him.
The Tours
Powerhouse tour was tricky (5sb is my max PH - Shelton). Some brutally rare required guys for the final one. Blueblood Hunter and Striker Shawn are pretty hard to get, Would have thrown maybe a Any-Shawn in there.
The SD Contest
9/13 milestones for the solo contest for me.
Completed the 20 Dawkins, 5 PH -Lex and ended up with 89/120 Attitude Era ones completed. (Mainly with Striker Sid who I got from the December free bags)
Was not possible for me to progress without spending, so that was it for me.
Happy with the amount of coins I got for that.
Ended with 845/2000 for Lex, which isn't too bad for F-t-P.
Super happy to see more Lex and had a fun contest SD. No problems and my boosting of the IoW characters has helped me get to 1000 a lot more reliably. 8/10 contest based on the current standards.

Rewards were scaled better. The milestones after 10 didn’t have much in them worth spending for so taking the 10 for free and moving on was nice.
Showdown as a whole has gotten extremely boring. Very little competitive aspect as there’s nothing to grind for. Once the bonus matches are done there’s literally nothing to carry on playing for.
Tours were okay I guess.
copy and paste event for the most part with the addition of a spend event which wasn’t needed since you had to spend to max the solo anyway. 2 events that require spending to max is a bit of a turn off for me personally. Easy free weekend and didn’t feel the need to buy any loot coins and it didn’t benefit me.

I don’t think anyone had PH Luger maxed 😂

Another play all weekend for 2/3 of the shards needed. Waste of time. The top rewards are only for guys that already get the card. Seems pointless to even have those leaderboard rewards

This was a very nice SD. Number of matches weren't exaggerated like last time. But i'd really like to see you release a shards box at the end of the contest for factions for SD like there's for feuds

Nothing too in depth, but my thoughts.
I really enjoyed being able to get a decent amount of shards without paying. That's how it should be. I don't expect to get him without paying (but I still love the chance of getting it via grab bag from free rewards).. we should be able to get 50-75% of the shards without paying for each new character. Users could then pay for that last bump or, wait to get more shards in the future.

I enjoyed the event this weekend. Happy to have a more viable Lex Luger now. My only concern with these showdown events is that the lack of a viable grind component. I would love to be able to just showdown forever to max the solo event instead of being capped. Several hours of the event were leftover and I had nothing to play for because I already maxed what I could.
thanks,
victor

This was a pretty good SD event overall.
The loot coin spend event is always a bad idea. Would be better to have a win SD matches event. Keeps the grinders happy.
The tours were solid.
The separate SD tournament was fine. It was nice SD coins were worth more this time.
Maxed the event, but didn't get the card, thats always disappointing.

@Yer_auld_Da_90 ty for your feedback, I was just thinking the same thing last night as I watched old wcw shows. Having “The Total Package” from that time period even the one where he cut his hair at the end of wcw.

@Isss3010 ty for your feedback, the bags have both shards and or poster. There have been many that have pulled the new superstar straight from the bags in the tours, including lex wolfpac. They all run under RNG. Maybe next time.

Overall good contest. Would like to see more shards bags for the free to play players. Though that would be asking to much. Rewards the ones who actually grind in the game instead of the whales.

So here goes the good bad and the ugly of this event in the forms of hits and misses.
Hits
- Luger seemed to drop at a decent clip out of the bags (I did not get him) as I saw quite a few faction mates pull him several times
- The free rewards arent as bad as they had been in previous events like this.
- You said 30 shards and by gawd there was 30 shards in the tour separate from the bags
- More of an in the middle than a true hit or miss the bonus daily in the spend event rather than the main event was ok but if included it would be a nice touch to see it in both.
Misses
- Two spend events tied to the same event you guys are way over pushing the acceptable limit on these things and spender burnout is real.
- Lugers shard drops out of the loot were horrific levels of bad even by the RNG standards you set.
- The requirements from the tour to maximize the event were just as bad I mean very few people in most factions are going to have the free MLC guy at 4sg week one.
- The "Guaranteed Mega Rare" section looks just as bad if not slightly worse than the common section of most loots.

Here is another weekend event that gives most players 1/2-2/3 of a character and we move onto the next weekend. At some point, the burnout or lack of satisfaction is going to catch up. Every other game out there has a grind aspect. Heck WWE Supercard is grind as much as you like and get top cards if you want to put forth the effort. These events don’t reward anyone for their time of play. You either get lucky on a 0.025 bag pull or you spend a ton chasing shards to finish.
There were 2 SPEND events in the same event. How greedy can one company get. The rewards weren’t even amazing in the 400 loot pull spend event.
If you go back 5 years to when this started, the game was much more balanced. We’ve accepted shady tactics and chalked up excuses like “get whatcha can and get out”. Even the WWE CHAMPIONS own Twitch streams are voicing frustrations. This should’ve been a fun month to celebrate the game & players but instead we’re asking more $$$$ from the players for little return.

Pretty cut and paste event same odds no surprises or major changes. No complaints, it was what it was.
I didn’t spend much this weekend figured I’d try my luck to see if I win last weeks chase character. This was how far I got:
If I win him would be nice, if not I’ll get him when the RNG gods allow me to eventually get him if no licensing issues arise in the process .
Still waiting on the “investigation” for the missing tokens from the Prior weeks Yokozuna gear event to get resolved before getting back to spending as usual.
just trying my luck 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Fairly standard SD event. Things I didn't like:
- 1.75 million points were Lex-dependent. If you pulled him from a bag the first day, all you had to do was play a match and level him up to get those points. Getting Lex from the bag is already a big reward, so it seems a little silly to get "double rewarded" with extra points as well through something that is 100% luck based.
- Loot coin contest? There's no reason for a fully p2w portion in a weekend contest. I mean I'd rather get a 50% discount and just get the items in the milestones. Loot coins rarely ever seem worth it. I know plenty of situations where players have spent 500+ loot coins without pulling the featured wrestler. If I only need 1 or 2 wrestlers in the loot pool, it's just a hassle to but loot coins only to get a bunch of Rick Rude shards.
- "Increase talent of X" for points. I'd rather this be "spend X TP" or "spend X coins" on a specific wrestler or era or class or whatever. Otherwise, it encourages a weird hoarding strategy that leads to players improving low-level or junky characters just to meet random milestones. I mean, this isn't a resource management game, so it seems weird that there's a viable strategy to not improve wrestlers until an arbitrary event come up. This is a problem with the game in general, but especially salient during weekend events.
- Opaque contest points. I'd love for the contest screen to have some sort of system to better track available points and how to earn them. For instance, have a "Claim Points on Portal" and then do "200k/600k" with an update every day once they are claimed. Same thing with tours - "Obtain Points from Limited Time Tours" and "X/Y" so that I'm not doing high-level algebra just to figure out how far I can get. Also, why not load tours in the game but leave them locked until a certain time? There shouldn't be any reason that Saturday or Sunday Tours are a surprise, and this could help avoid further 'Montreal Screwjobs' like we had a few weeks ago.
Not great, but given the recent disasters, I'd give it a 7/10.

This was a pretty decent contest. Did not have any negatives. Fair play to the team for rolling this out. The solo was pretty straightforward. Even if we did not have the contest superstars we could still max the event if needed by spending cash. Good amount of shards. The remaining could have been gotten off pulls which was fair. The balance was good. Also, Showdowns are my favorite so it was a fun weekend for me.
The faction event was also straightforward with very decent resources. Lex is great.
If there is one suggestion I could make, it would be to increase the points for the showdown coins or increase the showdown coin payout. It would be really helpful. Maybe throw in some rubies as well in the later milestones, so that we can roll out some in the ruby market. Thanks.

Finally and event you could max for free.. the igc spend for contest points was an awesome idea.. helped me max, only quarrel about the even side is that Luger was 100% unattainable even with maxing both solo and faction, spending for shards was a must…
showdown matchmaking is so much better than it has been in previous months..
Luger as a card look absolutely insane to use. I wished I’d got him..
that is all..

So, among the changes for the 5th anniversary, I'd say it is safe to add "no more giveaways", huh? Whatever...
Can't say that you got closer to what an ideal SD event should be.
Two SOLOs, but at least one should be exclusively "grind-per-win"....if you give us a loot contest and a solo event that requires money or premium resources like cash, what's even the point...
Faction event was good ol' garbage style....scoring methods like collecting shards of the new character should NEVER be limited....also, can't believe that the factions that ranked 1st and 2nd actually fought for garbage leaderboard rewards by wasting health packs....
The Tours were....ok....low on rewards, but at least there were no extremely rare CS and no "misunderstandings"....
So far, this 5th is a solid "thumbs down".....

It was bloody brilliant mate to be quite honest I had fun beating him down and all that jazz

The contest it self was OK and not so expensive to max. The pure spend contest needed too many loot Coins imo, especially when there aren't enough Shards from both contests plus tours to recruit the chase Character.
The "spend igc part" doesn't fit in a contest like this. We have every week a separate igc contest, so it would be too much igc spending imo.
All in one it was nothing special.
Would be cool to see more grinding in these contests to max them without spending. Everyone who wants to spend can participate in the extra pure spending contest.

Tours was not too bad as we were able to use characters that we had and even the 2nd tour we needed to use the free character which we should be leveling up so that was good that depending on where everyone was at on leveling him up would depend on how far we are able to go to get bonus for him.
The showdown was actually pretty good and most were able to get to a decent milestone on the event. I like the current format.

A mixed bag of an event. Some positive steps but also some baffling elements too.
Positives:
- It wasn’t easy to sell us on a Showboat with this months chase character being such a strong showboat, but Luger has a completely different style, era, coach ability and uses different mp trainers so this was a good addition.
- It was good to have an unlimited scoring method that wasn’t loot coins only. Having said that, actually playing matches for points would’ve been more engaging than just spending igc. I’d love to see both winning SD matches and spending igc as unlimited scoring methods in future showdown events.
Negatives:
- Separating the loot coin contest and solo event sounded like a great change, but it actually turned out to just be 2 spend events (igc and loot coin). Seeing the same players in both the top 10 and top 25 is a shame as those posters could have went to other players.
- Bag odds should be better balanced to reward players who get further in events. I’d like to see the odds dropped for bronze and silver bags to raise the gold bag odds. I’m sure that those who spent $1000+ for Luger this weekend don’t enjoy seeing players get him from a bag in the first couple of milestones.
- What has happened to the flash market? A few months ago players were genuinely excited to check their market and refresh using their rubies trying to find good deals on shards, coins, etc. I can't remember the last time I've seen a good deal in either my own market or a screenshot shared by another player. While I'm on the subject, can we fix the timer on the flash market so that players don't need to log in at crazy times just to get a re-roll? Changing the reset timer to 36 hours instead of 46 hours is still just 1 free re-roll but gives players a chance to find something they want to buy.

Let's start with the things in my opinion were good:
The amount of free shards they were provided for free. You could get 3/4 of the characters.
Also the option to spend cash to improve the score
Most of the required characters were easy to get or to have.
The prices of both solo and faction were good
The parts that can improve is the faction event. The limit on shards and talent up were limited. So not all players had a equal opportunity to get faction points.
The tour for the faction points were too low and the main character most of us have it very low
The market place also is not very good in return for your money

Max out event and even team max out faction as well still never got which is shame got a lot of money was good event please stop putting them 4 gold always hard to get them

I was able to max out my showdown points for both segments of the event. I was able to max out matches for multiple bonuses (3/6 if memory serves). But all of that done, I still couldn't break into the top 4 milestone rewards. I barely ever look at the top milestone rewards anymore because I am already preconditioned to think that they're unattainable.
The tour event was a joke: Bonuses for either pay-per-play characters, or our freebie character which we would need to spend money in order to level him up enough to do much for the bonus rewards.

Showdown Events
Overall these feel stale and could use some attention. Realistically there is no reason to push progress outside of maintaining above 1000k Notoriety. I’m not going to give a problem without a possible solution so an idea is to add rewards to the top 100 in showdown at the end of The showdown Tournament (so it isn’t a One night grind.) Without some changes to SD and reasons to push high I would prefer bonus matches even with double dipping be limited to 20 with higher point values. Right now there is pointless grind in SD in my opinion.
Bonus superstars for the most part didn’t feel like they tied into Lex at all. HBK Showstopper and Boogeyman for the SD matches what do they have to do with Lex? Showstopper and HHH BlueBlood what connection do they have with Lex again? Would have rather seen NWO, Wolfpack, WCW type requirements not 2 WWE guys for a WCW Wolfpack themed release.
Faction Contest
Max points felt fine. I would like the Talent up and even shard acquisition to not be limited. Let teams LB chase!

Overall I liked the Luger event.
The SD itself was not hard to max though some of the CSS were on the rare side. The tours themselves were oK and had some decent SS that were needed.
My main suggestions for future events like this are
1.) Keep the ability to use igc as a way to progress in the event or max if possible
2.) Increase the value of SD coins slightly so that they have more importance
3.) Increase or add more shard bags within the first 5 milestones.
4.) Possibly add a SD coin spending element to the event
5.) Adjust the event Flash Market, as lately they have not been worth spending to do rerolls as the milestones have been lackluster and not very incentiving.
Overall I feel it was a solid event to grow off of
