New Event rotation/structure

After Playing this game for 5 years give or take I’ve seen things come and go, some for the better and some that should have stayed but needed tweaking slightly (invasions for example)

one thing that has stood the test of time are faction feuds and rightly so as they’re the most engaging part of the game. On a feud weekend I’ll have no issue playing the game for up to 20 hours. The great thing about feud is it’s an optional game mode so if you want to play for 2 hours then you can do that.

showdown on the other hand has basically become a weekend spend event. Playing the actual showdown portion of the game counts towards extremely little in regards to event milestones unless you have the plethora of required superstars or pull the weekend character from bags. I feel showdown would be better off being moved to midweek considering the little time you need to actually dedicate to it. Over the last few months I’ve seen showdown as a weekend off as i can complete all available content in 2 hours or so. This weekend has been the quietest in my factions discord server for years and a lot are in agreement that they’ve hardly played the game at all since Friday.

boss battles were a breath of fresh air and enjoyed by a lot of the player base even though it was a beta it was a success for the most part and kept players engaged.

with boss battles requiring a week of set up via the faction hub have you considered using this as a means for an event rotation that players can plan around? I can’t see that a stable schedule of events will affect any spending habits at all as players will spend on literally anything you put for sale and that’s been proven over the last 5 years.

you basically already use a copy and paste format for your schedule and events so we have a general idea what to expect each month anyway.

my suggestion to consider is have an event structure as follows

example

week1

gauntlet blitz (midweek)

faction feud (weekend)

boss battle Prep

(misc MLC tours/cash kickback)

week 2

showdown tournament (midweek)

boss battle (weekend)

(Misc MLC tours/cash kickback )

you could rinse and repeat that cycle and still make the midweek showdown event spend based. Move the bonus showdown coins to a Thursday rather than on a Sunday.

it makes more sense to have weekend events where players have the option to play the game for longer than 2 hours.

apologies for the rambling but this is something i know myself and a lot of players would enjoy as a weekend is when most have free time and a showdown event currently doesn’t give us enough content to play.

Agree! SD is a snooze fest.

I would agree in most part except boss battles as most the time I tried to get in I couldn't and when I eventually got in it was just as bad as feud for red ring and freezing issues

I concur with this, only thing i would add is give some HOF tokens as prizes in milestones along with the normal tokens

Honestly, it’s kind of nice to have a weekend “off” once in awhile. The thing I’d tweak with showdown is to add a scoring method that is unlimited for just winning showdown matches. (Like 5000 points per showdown win). That would allow people who want to keep grinding, an opportunity to get a few more rewards. Having rewards that can only be achieved by spending large amounts of money are such an obvious money-grab by scopely. Or maybe have 2 separate events on showdown weekend. One that you can only earn points by spending and the other where you can only earn rewards by playing. Give the free players a chance to win an event. Believe it or not, but this used to happen years ago.

Boss battles are fine but when there’s only 1 character in the entire game who can help you win level 9/10, (macho king) that’s a problem.

I agree that feud is probably the best game mode, but the kick out damage from the steps needs to go away. I’d like the steps to go away altogether, but I realize that’s a money making opportunity so it’s unlikely to happen.

Also, let’s get a little more creative with feud roster requirements. How about having an all-showboat, or all technician feud? Something to make people use different guys. It’s boring seeing the same 5 guys on your opponents team every feud.

I like your ideas, boss……SD is a waste of time…more feuds….perhaps a challenge mode where 3 on 3 battles can take place between best players from different factions
