It’s to the point the events are not worth doing. If you have all the superstars and max the event both days and only get 13 of 16 milestones. Stop the spending events!

Tours - these were solid all around

•Showdown - easy amounts required also allowed for multiple versions of each character which should be done always!!!

•Solo Event - there were some glaring issues here.

    1. The tech talent up only being worth 4pts is just awful!!
    2. The ONLY way to max the event is to spend a lot of money. This should never be the case for a normal event (have your own separate spending events).
    3. The last two milestones have way to much of the available rewards (coins and such). Spread this out over other milestones.
    4. put an attainable milestone together that has the superstar IN it. Or make it to where you can get enough shards to recruit him by actually DOING the event. After spending a little I will still be 400 shards short and I got all shards available in the event. That’s absurd.

•Faction Event - these rewards we way way too low across the board

•Store Offers - nothing special here

•Overall the biggest issue is common across the board you make it impossible to attain new superstars without spending a large about of money this model is driving people to not spend and eventually to leave the game completely.

final thought - make more than one new card attainable through grinding. You have in the last made a way to get points in a solo (or faction) event by win a showdown WITH NO LIMITS (and don’t make it unreachable like win 1000 showdown matches). This would make it more enjoyable to play if we knew we could get a new superstar. Even if a 2sb of the new card is available in the final milestones AND it’s attainable without spending it would be nice.

  • I'm new to the game so this is coming from a fresh perspective. My opinion is that this game turned

out to be really fun and rewarding to play. The events that you have going on for Halloween are

really neat! I liked how it was stated that the zombies are invading our rosters of superstars. That

was a really funny touch, cause they actually are! What has made this so enjoyable is leveling up

the league play and having a balance of freebies and grinding that make you feel as though your

making tons of progress. To conclude, this event is split into two parts, the zombie part and the

edge part. I just joined and so can only give a review of the zombie event, as my league level is too

low. The zombie event is really great especially since my favorite WWE superstar is Roman Reins

and he is front and center. (want to play as zombie roman so bad! lol) Keep up the good balance

of free stuff and paid! Players really notice.

Why does every event end up becoming a spend event to complete it. I would love to see the game return to some events that are able to be completed without having to spend money.

  • another event where you need to spend a fortune to get to the last couple of milestones in solo. Impossible without spending to get far, no option to max while grinding either. People may be more inclined to spend with more fair circumstances.

  • I always spend in this game but not get good results, the same old shards . Please if people spend in this game , give them some good result rather than shards

All in all it wasn’t a bad contest. The flaws I seen was today when y’all shut down the showdown coins to count for the solo. Plus I was at 1125 at reset and only got 40k showdown coins. I also bought some stuff from the portal it didn’t give me milestones for my purchase! The points for the tech wasn’t helpful at all it just wasted resources. I was so close to the next z Eddie milestone when y’all took down the showdown coins for points.

    thanks IGN David1750

FACTION EVENT: it was ok, and by "ok" I mean doable, amount of points per player was fine, but rewards are getting worse everytime....

SHOWDOWN TOURNAMENT: CSS balanced, but game stability has not improved after the latest update, same as above, it got worse....at least matchmaking was fine.

TOURS: likely the best overall part, rewards-wise and requirements-wise

SOLO EVENT: consolidated free part + premium part...at least 1 emerald token should be in the free part...also, tasks for recent past events asked us to talent up Techs....you ask for Techs once again (yes, I know, zEdge is a Tech but could have been a PH) and you also give us such low retribution for talenting them (a mere x4)? To be revised...

  • The good:

    - It's zombie month! Unlike some, I actually like and enjoy zombie month (I like the Mutants to, but that's another feedback for another day, haha).

    - Matchmaking was good. Nice variety of opponents and not just the meta characters.

    - The grind wasn't bad and all players could do the fights.

    The bad:

    - Another backstage pass. Seriously? Others have ripped you for it, so I'll simply say that was in very poor taste and did not help you with the community at all. In case you don't realize, overall, the community isn't very happy with you guys right now. And while you guys might think the community always hates you, that isn't the case. It ebbs and flows, and right now it's raining garbage on a lot of players. Might want to help us out with an umbrella pretty soon.

    - The cost to max. What happened here? Events used to be reasonable, but the last few have been crazy. This trend of $500+ every weekend is downright silly. At an absolute minimum, for that kind of investment, the card should be guaranteed. Whoever sets the price point of new cards or completing events clearly doesn't understand what all $500 can buy someone (PS5 or XBox X anyone?), instead of maxing an event and still not getting a card.

    - Fixed shards. Congrats Champion, no card for you this event! But please play anyway, and spend hundreds of dollars for "part" of a card. Does that sound like a good way to sell an event to the player base? Because that's exactly what you've been doing... and yeah, those that haven't learned yet are still praising you for it (it is getting to be fewer people each event), but the time will come where they'll realize that mistake. Hopefully that happens soon though.

    - Watching the same players hit every card from bags/cheap pulls. Now while you'll mistakenly chalk this up as "sour grapes" or whatever, it does get old watching the same people pull card after card after card from the bags or cheap pulls while getting maybe halfway through the event, while some others drop hundreds and max, and walk away with nothing. There's a group of us that have been watching this unfold, while we continue to whiff and whiff. And please don't misunderstand either, I'm not talking about the big spenders that pull until they hit. That's everyone choice, so more power to them, and I wish them the best of luck. I'm talking more about those that barely play, yet walk away with card after card after card, generally from a bag or a $20 or less pull. Seems to be a trend, and I won't be surprised to see someone break out a spreadsheet on it pretty soon.

    - Loot was terrible. Featured odds were terrible. Cards in featured were terrible. If "featured" hits are going to be that rare (1.72%), it should be the top of the line cards. No fodder, no junkers, no shards. Cards like showboat Charlotte, zombie Finn, zombie Jeff, etc., all have no business being in "featured" at all.

    - 4 points per talent? Again, seriously? I have no doubt you did that just to shut people up about the events that didn't have a talent up aspect, but come on, this was just abysmal.

    Synopsis:

Please entertain me for a moment. Would you buy a ticket to a movie and take the time to watch it... if you knew you wouldn't get to see the last 30 minutes? Stop and think about it for a second. Your money and time for something you cannot finish. Would you do it? Because that's what is happening with events lately. We spend our time to do everything, spend a hundred or two, and get nothing for it. No card, no sense of satisfaction for completing the event, no nothing. How long do you think we will keep doing that? I had hoped it was a test last month, and things would go back to somewhat reasonable, but it didn't. Since there's no guaranteed cards anymore (huge mistake in my opinion), what is the harm in making the events reasonable to complete? There has to be a payoff of some sort, otherwise there's simply no point in doing the events.

    Until next time,

Here's my thoughts on the ZEdge Event:

Pros: The tours were great as the gave solo points and decent rewards and made use of the free MLC ss and other ss that most players have.

The SD event was good only in the fact that the CSS were pretty much readily available to everyone and the number of matches needed to complete was very reasonable.

I'm still loving that shard bags are static so you know it's either the SS or the shards

Cons: The backstage killed and possible desire I might of had to spend as from the 1 loot coin , as if you advertise that getting the pass during the week will unlock weekend deals I fully expect that I shouldn't have to pay again to get what was Initially promised from the start. This is the 2nd time we're weekend offer either weren't available, were not as good offers in general or we had to pay again to get them.

The event scoring was a real "huh" moment for me as I in the past for 10 mil event we'd get 25 pts per TU on specific SS the math or reasoning doesn't add up to why in a 5mil event we get less than half that at 4pts TU. 12 pts would of been a good midground for this.

Events milestones need to be more evenly distributed for a event the plate being locked in the last milestone by a paywall along with the Sheamus shards was fine but was the lions share of coins and tp should not as those things don't need to be protected by a payroll.

The loot pulls for this event were not that great in regards to what was offered in the actual pulls and would of liked to have seen other recent Techs like Shayna in them.

My suggestions: I personally believe that the Seth Event was the perfect blend of good CSS needed for bonus points , evenly spread milestone rewards and the ability to grind for a lower lvl version of the Event Chase SS or spend reasonably to achieve completion and I would for that format to be the one that future events are modeled after.

P.S. I was lucky enough to pull ZEdge from a milestone bag so I don't need to be entered in the drawing I just wanted to offer my feedback about the event.

This solo event was disappointing in many way. The value of the showdown towards the milestones feels like it significantly decreased. As someone that maxed all aspects of the showdown, tours, and portal reward claims, I was only able to get to level 13/16 in the milestones. Even if I would've considered making a purchase to get the first time reward, I still would've been short of the next milestone with the only option of talenting up a tech for a small 4 points per talent. Several of the better rewards were in the last 3 milestones so they're understandably hard to get to but if the intent is to get people to spend for them, why not just put them in the store at a set price? It also is not encouraging that a large amount of points can be obtained if someone is lucky enough to obtain the main prize of the contest. Obtaining the character would seem to be the goal of the contest and not the only means to get other valuable rewards. It feels better as part of a tour instead of within the milestones especially since it also discourages those that pull the card during the event after the showdown period is over.

The tours were decent. The required characters seemed common enough for everyone to have a shot to get some bonuses. It is still disappointing that the only people that have an honest chance of completing the tour with the free month long character are the ones that purchased an upgrade to that character in the first week since tokens to upgrade the character are extremely limited during the first week.

The faction contest was simple enough to reward all of the high active factions during this event. It was disappointing that this event did not provide any help with the solo event.

The store offers were disappointing. For someoone that is over 300,000 points away from the next milestone, the store offers needed to accomplish that seem expensive. The backstage offer seemed greedy as there was already another backstage offer earlier in the week that many would expect to extend to the weekend. The longer someone waits to purchase the offer, the less value they would get from their purchase making it silly to consider after day one.

The showdown was decent. It had a decent number of bonus matches that didn't feel like it took forever to accomplish but including Edge as one of the bonus characters would cause frustration to many of the people that pulled him after the showdown portion ended unless his bonus also extended to the regular showdown matches.

    Milestones

    • Don't like the fact that last 2 solo milestones are heavily paywalled. So it was an easy decision to stop where I'm able to.
    • Maxed Faction Milestone so looks like requirements weren't unattainable.

    Rewards

    • This time the rewards are again so restricted to the point that it's sitting behind the paywall especially the good portion of rewards.
    • Continue the trend of keeping reward bags either the card or fixed shard amount instead of random.

    Loot

    • No comments on Loot Pulls as I don't spend on them.
    • Needless to say, the consensus seems to think you're offering very bad pricing for your so called offers especially the backstage ones. A backstage offer behind a backstage offer... uhmmm who's great idea was that?

    Difficulty

    • To complete tours and fued milestones seemed doable.
    • Seems like you're sticking with the theme of first weekend event tour of MLC to include the free MLC character requirement. Personally, not a fan of that.
    • SD was great with match-making and no issues come across whatsoever so I can definitely say SD has improved significantly.
    • Keeping the amount of superstar matches required reduced to less than 20 is great so we don't have to grind all night.
    • Why change the talent up to just 4 points per talent on top of that just Technician only. Was easy pass for me to not burn through a chunk of resources for barely any points. Reached milestone 13 with all that I was able to do and decided I won't spend any considering the next milestone was less than mediocre rewards.

    Superstars

    • zEdge looks like a great character even better with the special plate.

    Overall Event

    • Rate it 5 out of 10.
    • This is my personal feedback I'm adding based on reading someone's synopsis above re. completing the event but yet not being able to acquire a character. Couple years ago you had the format where you could finish the event and maybe get a 2 or 3 star version of the card in the last milestone but that looks like it's completely stopped and the way I now look at your event formats it's now hit me that your strategising on giving people just enough of shards and hopefully entice them to spend to complete the rest of the shards by the end of the month. Perhaps a great strategy and if it's working by getting whales to spend then good for Scopely but personally not a fan especially for someone who's not a heavy spender.

    • Another event where you had to be lucky to pull the featured poster from a bag. People that put no effort could have been rewarded while those that took some more time, money and resources ended in the middle of nowhere. At least with the old RNG shards you could get lucky if you put some effort into the event.
    • Also impossible to max without pulling Edge and spending a decent amount or if you didn't got Edge you were required to spend an absurd amount. We already have events like that during the week, it would have been cool if at least those that got Edge could have maxed without spending.
    • Talent Up portion worth only 4 points was terrible. Doing some substantial work wouldn't get you very far.
    • The faction part, as always, could have been a lot better. Rewards were not special at all and could have seen Edge bags, at least as leaderboard rewards.
    • Tours were nice but could have provided some more points towards the solo event.
    • Loot could have been a lot better. All previous zombies should have been included and odds towards those could also be improved.
    • Backstage pass was a step back, we already spent towards one Backstage pass, no need for a second.

I thought the event was kinda meh, probably give it a 5.5 - 6 out of 10 overall.

    I liked:

    • Tours were open and very straight forward
    • Faction event was decent, fair rewards and pretty straight forward
    • No technical issues with matchmaking. All the behind the scenes work with showdown seems to have paid off. Didn't have anyone in my faction complaining of getting constantly attacked or not being able to find opponents
    • Static shard bags. This was good. I did also see a lot of people getting zEdge from bags. Probably around 10% in my faction, usually this is more like 3-5%. Definitely a big boost seeing more people getting him. 1'600 shards is fine, I do think that 1'200 shards is the perfect number.

    I disliked:

    • The structure of the solo event wasn't great. It's unfortunate that 15 of the 22 million coin in milestones was out of reach for the majority of players.
    • Equally disappointing was that the emerald tokens came right at the end. Throwing 1 emerald token into milestone 10 or 11 would have made a huge difference to everyone.
    • There was no grind element to the solo event. It's fine having fewer matches with the required cards, but there should be some incentive to carrying on pushing after you have hit the 22.5k showdown coin limit. Bring in something like the war score event, but for showdown wins. A separate contest where the top 5 or 10 all win the card.
    • The second backstage pass was annoying. Let's keep this to once per week please
    • Showdown coins (10 points per) and Tech talent up (4 points per) weren't great. It's as if the only thing that really mattered in this event was getting Edge and paying for pulls. The solo contest structure really needs a rethink - freshen it up and make it more fun. This was not a fun event
    • Having 10% of the solo event points contingent on winning a match with the chase card is tough. I'd like to see this being a lot less, 5% seems reasonable

Thanks for reading all of this. I did manage to get the card, so please make sure that @TheBear41 wins the draw.

Overall an okay event but nothing special. I would place this event as a 6/10.

+Decently high milestones available without spending

+Showdown was pretty easy to get thru with the lower amount of bonus matches required.

-Highly restrictive tours were not great for alot of players

-Way to much spending still required to max. I strongly believe you can reduce the rewards slightly in milestones, make it easier to max, and then increase the leaderboard rewards for the spenders.

-Faction event not having any direct tie to the actual showdown is always a negative for me.

Alot can be improved to make these events more fun. There were positive steps forward this week with less bonus matches required but still alot can be worked on.

  • Tours - Well planned and a good amount of rewards for those without the correct character, and extra for those who could use the correct character. This was a nice balance to see.

Shard Bags - I'm not sure what's going on, but it seems like the same people are getting the charaacters from these bags almost every to every other event. Others, like myself, do not get any. This would be ok if we also had a chance at getting enough shards to get the character through grinding + spending. But, that way is almost impossible also unless you want to take out a 2nd mortgage. So we got an improvement from RNG just to have an impossible scenario.

Solo Contest - This was great, until you got to the last 2 milestones. These were lovingly called the "spending milestones" by many in the community, as that was the only way to get them without pulling zEdge. So you would think that by spending, you would get more shots at the featured character...but this was not the case. While we continued to get Zombie Lashley and non-Zombie Sheamus (???) shards, the Edge bags were missing from the "spending milestones".

Faction Contest - Standard features...nothing too great. It would have been nice if it was a little harder to get, but we got better prizes...or just better rewards in general. Maybe 1 5s emerald token for the last milestone?

Showdown - I am very happy with the new format of showdown, but now instead of getting too many attackers...I get none at all. This is the preferred method if it comes down to only those two, but I'm sure that with amazing coders on staff, there can be a better way!

Loot pulls - So from the ones I saw and the ones I did, these were just bad. Bad would have been acceptable if there was a way to get zEdge from doing more of them, but there wasn't. So for those like me who did a couple of the big pulls...we got no new characters, and no fuse ups even. And we also didn't get zEdge...so why should we spend anything on the next one? I can only be as positive about this as you create the environment for.

Sorry if my feedback wasn't positive enough, but I tried to craft it in a way that you can see the frustration that I'm sure many of us are experiencing. There has been a lot of talk of peopel leaving not spending again, because FTP are getting more characters than spenders...so what's the point! I hope that concern is understood. I would thoroughly enjoy becoming an FTP player if I have to!

  • Oh and also... 4 points for Talent Up??? For real??? C'mon...we can appreciate that no one found that constructive at all...its just a waste of good resources...

Was good to see older superstars being required for tours and bonus' which meant everyone had the opportunity to work their way through the milestones.

This being said it would have been better if more shards were given as rewards instead.

New superstar- Zombie edgeusna good technician

New Skill plate - The best thing in this contest was skill plate. It is very usefull for lots of superstars

Showdown competition- run smooth. Good contest superstars. Need more points to reach more milestones without paying.

Solo contest milestones- Good rewards. Coins need to increase.

Faction contest milestones- Disappointed as no sharda bag aur any worthy rewards in them. Need to add spicey rewards in them.

Overall an average event with no special encourage rewards.

    Pros:

The number of matches for bonus characters was reasonable.

The tours were very reasonable to complete everyday.

Faction points were attainable for everyone to contribute.

    Cons:

Guarantied shards again with not enough available if you are not lucky with bags

Emerald tokens we moved to the stretch milestones effectively pay walling them was not a good move.

Showdown coins only counting for 10 points even with the decrease in the the final milestone it was still way off for being able to actually help much in the event.

Talent counting for only 4 points per talent. If you didn't spend and didn't get lucky you were looking at a very unreasonable amount in the 100k+ talent range with is just unreasonable.

The "stretch" milestones to actually max the solo event was again way to far off $$$

Pay walling the big portion of rewards in the final 2 milestones instead of spreading them out more across the achievable milestones was a very negative change.

If you did everything you could in the event and didn't get lucky hitting the card you could only get to milestone 13 if you didn't spend. There was another bag in milestone 14 and then a huge portion of advertised rewards in milestone 15 and 16.

We already have a backstage pass for the week and now there is another backstage pass for the weekend event? Not a good look for Scopely to the player base. You are already asking people to pay a ton for monthly subscriptions Shane Contract, King of Kings, DX army, DX Elite, Strap pass, Managers pass, Jump start pack, Back stage pass, and now another backstage pass for a weekend event. Does this not seem a little much to you?

    Conclusion:

From a usually competitive player perspective I feel like the events are no longer "competitive" they are now based on the size of your wallet. There is no real incentive to spend hundreds (yes multiple as you can't max without spending way more than $100 even if you get lucky and hit the card from a pull or a bag). I get you want people to spend but there has to be some events that the player base can max for good rewards by playing the event. Please bring those back. It is very disheartening the turn the events have taken and is slowly turning people off the game if they know they cannot max any events throughout the month. There should be events that actually playing the game allows you to complete weekend events.

Tours: Very do-able with bonus characters that aren't overly rare. Gives most players a chance to gain some points towards their solo/faction contests. Having the second tour as zDrew was good choice as it gives a bit of appreciation to the people that played through the week and leveled him up.

Blitz: It was a smooth blitz without much technical error. The bonus contest characters were done very nicely, as it didn't completely penalize the player that didn't have the 2020 zombies. It still gave them a chance at some bonus points by using "any Seth Rollins (etc)". However, there should have been a category for 2019 zombies as well. Be nice to honor some legacy players (and it seems like some of the zombies are given in the briefcase pulls)

Contest: I like how this wasn't paywalled. A player could invest heavily in the technicians if they really wanted to max the event. A good amount of milestones were reachable from just tours and showdown. I didn't like how that some of the straps in the higher milestones were not "high bonus" straps. The milestones nearing the end of a contest should always have high-bonus, putting in a good amount of hours for an event should equate in good rewards.

Technicals: Grateful there was NO red rings of loading, crashing and freezes. Would say it was a pretty smooth gameplay from the user side of things.

Shop: The backstage pass incentive over the weekend was weak. Nothing stuck out and encouraged me to take out the credit card. Maybe the backstage pass should have steps as well or commutative rewards - ie: the more consecutive weeks you purchase the backstage pass, the greater the rewards / packs available?

The event was nice but in the solo contest why the all good reward at last two milestones?. People are struggling to reach the final milestone but still not get it. In this event all the good solo MLC point at the last two milestones. Please improve the milestone awards.

Ultimately found the event was fair enough allowing for a range of ways in showdown/tours as well as if I did to buy for maxing the event.

ultimately I enjoy playing the game and although I have not maxed it, the game was enjoyable enough
