Ring Royalty Feud Perks

Despite strong collective feedback from the community, here we are again. Scopely: you guys continue to fail to understand the meaning of a perk. It is a benefit or a privilege. Yet your feud perks continue to make players collectively worse off.
The Nash Equilibrium outcome with perks is for both you and your opponent to max both. Unfortunately that means both players are exactly where they started in terms of both starting MP and gem generation. If that isn’t bad enough, both players are also in the neighborhood of 13 million coins worse off for it. All for one feud this event that won’t even offer a fraction of that in rewards anyway.
Specifically because you guys don’t listen, I will continue to bang this drum. Stop ignoring the player base and forcing something down our throats that we have told you so many times we don’t want.

Buy two perks to end up right back where you started. Not a perk.

I think feuds should be perkless period let us battle it out with the best rosters without needing to sabotage any one else. I am a nobody but do agree with ocho.

The perks to get back to even is a waste of coins. There is no benefit to having to spend coins to get back to where we would all be if no one bought any perks. There should always be some sort of advantage to purchasing a perk, something that would be helpful to the player and not make them feel like it is forced just to get back to square 1. At this point players feel forced into buying perks for no advantage which should not be the case.

Feud perks don't make any sense. As stated in the first post of this thread, if we buy +3MP and our opponent buys the -3MP, we are right where we started. Both sides are spending coins simply to cancel each other out with no benefits to either side. It doesn't make sense.
We already face -MP in showdown, there's no way around it. So why stop the +MP in feud? Feud is a grind, a very long grind actually, so why take what little fun is left away by restricting the MP? If this is the future, might as well only build all the 1 MP people. Covers showdown and feud. I wouldn't think that's what you would want us to do, but that's what the perks say to do. Please go back to allowing us to get 1 or 2 MP by buying the perks. Thanks.

I’ll be honest and real this was some straight bs what happened over the weekend showdown event and it’s very disappointing a bunch of people would cheat like that over the leaderboard due to the fact y’all tried to take a short cut on a short term fix that people find another loophole and didn’t claim the rewards y’all sent out in people inbox message so they points didn’t rollback giving them another huge advantage over the people who is honest and played the game fairly like I did cause I accept like rollback took it on the chin and grind hard and worked my way back to the top thinking y’all would fix the issue on Monday which y’all didn’t at all …. I got cheated out of my top 25 spot

Couldn't agree more. Considering if they're planning to move us to a 3 week event whereby it's 2 SD and 1 fued, then does that mean fued perks are only valid for just 1 fued? Personally that's such a waste hence I didn't buy any in the last MLC and still managed to get by without it. Right now fued perks have no purpose other than me wanting to acquire more MLC points by spending turnbuckles within the last week of the MLC... again such a waste but if I'm out of options then that's what I will have to resort to.

Not claiming points or not logging in had no impact on the leaderboard positioning. This thread also has nothing to do with your complaint.

Feedback typically runs on a 3+ month delay so the team isn't likely to make any adjustments for another couple of months and the team may decide that this fits with plans despite the community voicing their displeasure.

then why have the forum!? "If the team decides"? There is no "team" without the players...I'm not sure how that isn't blindingly apparent.
As far a 3-month delay for feedback, its been a LOT longer than 3 months that we the players have been voicing our displeasure about the perks.
As ocho said, at this point, the offensive and defensive perks are a complete wash, so what is the point of either one, other than to waste our resources?
Lastly, you're supposed to be a mod here, so how about constructive replies?
The previous two responses look more like someone taking out their frustrations on those using the forum for its intended purpose.

Feud perks in this and the past month were nothing but a waste of coins. All you spent on getting offensive perks was in vain because we had defensive perks which were there to negate most bonuses, and it's the same thing this month.
Perks are supposed to help the players and right now they have no effect at all because, once again, all they do is to basically negate each other. There's time until next feud happens and it would be great if you could adjust perks to be helpful and useful otherwise there's no reason for them to exist.

As others have mentioned here, and in previous threads, these 'perks' just don't fit the definition of what a perk should be.
Personally, I like a +1mp perk overall for feud. If I'm going to sit down all day and play, I want to enjoy playing the game. If 'the team' wants to try a system where we don't have +1mp, okay. But do we really need to charged 13m coins for it?
Perks could be a hugely enjoyable part of the game if implemented correctly. Make perks fun.

Beyond the consensus that perks last month just cancelled each other out, let's not ignore the perks and cost was ONLY useable for ONE Fued! Maxed out was 13M coin for ONE Fued, every other month you got 2 fueds for the cost.
Same for this MLE spend a lot of coin only to be able to use once. At least adjust the costs to reflect the use

Perks should be an advantage if you decide to spend coin and turnbuckles on them. There's no advantage with having the feud defensive perks cancel out the feud offensive perk.
If I buy a business class seat on a flight, that doesn't make an economy seat smaller. I don't want to be using my resources to have other players having a worse experience in the game. I want to do well, but not by giving someone a worse experience.
Please consider removing the perks all together. Or at least making them more balanced. Thank you.

Agree with this forum. Feud perks need to be redesigned. Lots of coins wasted to end up in the same spot you were before you’ve even brought them.

My replies answered the questions which have been answered many times. The forum is for feedback that doesn't mean it's implemented right away or taken. If the team only listened to feedback from the community it wouldn't make any money because people would constantly demand free everything.

I need someone to help me here, but wasnt there a situation where we all complained about a change that we didnt like, maybe it was in SD or feud, and it was changed at the next event? I even think in the blog or here on the forum, there was bragging about how Socpley listens to feedback. That was nowhere near the 3+ month delay.
Dont get me wrong, I am not calling you a liar or anything close to that, I am sure you are just relaying what Scopely is telling you, but I believe that they have proven this to be incorrect with their own words and actions

In very rare situations they have made short turn around changes like this. However this is NOT one of those times there is NO intention of changing this yet. The earliest we will see it is the next MLC and possibly further out and that's if it aligns with what the team's paln/vision is.

I agree with almost everyone here about the perks. Can't imagine the millions and millions and millions of coins I've wasted over the years on perks that I would WAAAAY rather have put into my roster. If you are in ANY competitive faction at all you pretty much have to buy them to stay in that faction and put up points. Either take them out of the game entirely or make them permanent.

As @Stagger Lee has stated it can take a few months for this to be considered for any changes, and even then we can't confirm that any changes will take place.
That said, all your comments are noted and appreciated and I we are noting your feedback about perks, balance and implementation.

I have three suggestions for what perks could look like in the future:
- Eliminate perks altogether for PvP modes of play in this game. This would be my first choice as I feel that when I am going up against another player in either SD or Feud, I want it to be my roster vs his or her roster. I dont think that a battle like this should be influenced by how many spare coins one of us had to buy perks. For tours and blitzes, I think that perks are fine, but not in SD or Feud. With that said, Im not foolish, I know that this has almost zero chance of happening, but it is the one thing I would love to see.
- Offensive only perks. Completely eliminate the ability to nerf your opponent in Feud. I think that if you let perks actually be perks, that would go a long way to making people happier. If I spend the coin for a +2 mp perk, then I should be able to get that +2mp. Having it eliminated by an opponents - mp perk is what we are all upset about here.
- Keeping all of the current perks but make them active only on offense. I dont know if this is possible at all, but another solution would be to make all perks only active when a player is on offense. When I attack a player, any perks I buy, either offensive or defensive, are active, but when Im attacked I have no perks on, its just my bare roster against the attacker.
I think if any of these solutions were to be implemented, it would go a very long way to making the player base much happier with regards to perks.

Well, pretty much everything wrong with the Feud Perks has been voiced out....too expensive for a single feud and a 3-week-long MLC...all good points, gotta admit....
Which means, it's suggestion time...
The way I see them, perks should never ever "compensate" themselves....which means if you decide to make a -MP perk, there shouldn't be a +MP perk, especially if the final MP value is zero. Same for + Gem Generation....if you go for it, then, you can't have a - Gem Generation, and the final outcome shouldn't be zero again....
So here are the options:
a) Each month you can have players choose only 1 between offensive perks and defensive perks. If a player chooses the offensive ones, he/she can't unlock the defensive perks till the MLC is over.
b) Each month you can "mix" offensive and defensive perks, but they can't belong to the same category, e.g. a perk can be like "start with more MPs, opp generates 2 less gems" and the following month can be "opp starts with less MPs, generate 2 more gems" and so on, BUT....when you pick "+MP, -Gem Gen" for a month, that same month there can't be a "-MP, +Gem Gen"
