New players locked out of an entire play style

The discussion of cards no longer available is nothing new of course, but with SB Matt Hardy being a contest superstar in the upcoming event I wanted to call out the importance of getting this trainer back into circulation. The lion’s share of acrobats benefit from this trainer. In fact I’d argue he’s as widely important as MP trainers.
For new accounts like mine that were born after he was taken out of circulation, it is frustrating to be indefinitely locked out of an entire play style. There are many cards I would never build or chase for since I can’t run their optimal setups.
The usual response to this is “stay tuned” and “something is in the works”, but I’m posting this to hopefully call attention to how many players this is still affecting, and how much of a have/have not impact it has on accounts.
Please chime in if not having the multiply gem trainer is holding back your progress.

For the sake of competition I agree, and feel that a new MLC character or mini chase could easily be given the trainer option of + mult gem. I would even argue making it slightly stronger than Matt due to the way that - mult coaches can completely nerf these cards. But it should be a simple enough change to give these players chances at cards that aren't returning, another example being Rusev. We have seen in the past where non circulating cards with mandatory trainer abilities are reskinned or just flat out given to new stars as dupe training abilities.

People paid a lot of money for his card. I’m ok with a replacement being nice to have and something to consider long-term.
Don’t punish the whales for being Whaley…. Especially since he was free in bags for a long while

I remember being without Matt Hardy for months so I definitely feel for new players who are being held back without his trainer ability. So many characters can't reach their potential without this trainer.
Being a tour requirement this weekend seems very odd to me too. He can be required for content, but can't be given out for free? Anyway, if it's impossible to give him out for free, I think you should give next month's free poster his trainer ability.

i started around 3 months ago, so i'm 1 of the new players missing matt/sincara, i done many pulls, but i avoid guys like acrobat hbk,rey,jimmy, my hof Lita, cuz of not having matt, and i recent just got bliss and she won't be as good in show down cuz i'm missing sin cara/matt hardy, i get the whole re skin takes time, but when you guys add things like -2 blue subs? its a wasted trainer slot that could had just bee a dupe copy of sin cara, then no re skin would be req for 1 less superstar.
i really think this should be put up the very top of the to do list, or new players will just end up giving up, with older accounts having such a huge advantage. what the point of spending so much money for this megas, when they are only at half power due to missing matt/sincara?

It’s unfair to new players to make a contest consist of any card that is actually unavailable in the game any longer. This is ridiculous!!!

I'm in support of some of the more useful Trainers/Coaches being duplicated within the game.
Matt Hardy, Sin Cara. Shawn Michaels D-Generation X and Triple H DX Coach abilities are key for the Technician class of characters so it's about time they be made available on non-subscription Superstars.
if you are looking for characters cards to "re-skin", how about getting the Dudley Boyz back in the game.

completely agree the more players in the community the better it is for anyone. New players should not be penalized for being new especially the amount of money they are spending to catch up to other people. They need to have access to the same trainers as everyone else to be able to be competitive. You just made a second red mp trainer since you’re clearly pulling sting cards why can’t you do the same to another character this has been an ongoing issue since Enzo and ADR.

Just reskin him for someone that's really the only solution. You can't make another multi gem trainer that would be game breaking for some of the acros.

It's a shame to hear that many of the long time essential cards are slowly going away for newer players. For long term players this card felt obtainable from the daily bags and many should have him but as the game grows and new players come around, it will be a shame if another trainer doesn't come along with similar abilities.

Let's put this in plain English, you're losing revenue by not letting people acquire the essential trainers they need. As stated in this thread some players that just started out that spend money on this game can't optimize their roster and won't spend on specific pulls because they don't have the necessary training card to optimize the potential of the pull card.

I've heard a lot of people sitting quality acrobats and not chasing others due to not having these trainers (Matt Hardy and Sin Cara) with no means of obtaining them.

I believe it is unfair to have a tour that has a CSS that is no longer available to pull. Regardless of passed availability, if they can no longer be pulled, it shouldn’t be a requirement. You are not allowing players to maximize the amount of points that can be earned.

I understand the licensing issues of certain superstars moving from one company to another. I have 800 wolfpac shards and I'm out the showdown coins to finish attaining him. But to require an unattainable card, you're simply alienating a percentage of your player base. Reskin these essential cards and let them play.

To make Matt Hardy a CSS in this new event seems quite bizarre as he is no longer available to the newer player database. It's like you are punishing new players or trying to deter them from playing the game. A re-skin or make an identical trainer available is definitely needed to make things fair.

Competition requires all players to have the same opportunity to compete. A re-skin of Matt Hardy and any other important trainer gives newer players that opportunity. Current system holds newer players back to a certain extent.

Also they should remake the botch gem generator trainer replacing Arm Anderson and maybe another remake for the black move damage trainer replacing striker Dean Ambrose. I feel these are also important and there's no way we can get them again.

Hamstringing new players and their account development due to critical trainers being removed hurts not only the players themselves, but the factions they belong to. Critical trainers deserve a re-skin. This should be one of the top priorities moving forward!

Matt Hardy was replaced by Bobby Roode in the tour requirement as they obviously can't use removed characters in tours for the same reasons they can't offer them

That still does not change the root issue. It is becoming more and more difficult to keep faction members playing due to issues like this. Would be nice for Scopely to focus on player retention and things like this would go a long way towards that.

Did you miss the part where he said his account was born after Matt was taken out of the free bags? Whales being whaley should have nothing to do with critical trainers being obtained. Stop being obtuse - this is not the time for trolling.

How do you prepare for a character being released?
Wade doesn't create gems. Him announcing doesn't mean that we can use him in game.
What makes you think we don't care? DX Army shawn isn't optimal with matt and doubling that wouldn't make him better.
Matt's trainer ability is on the teams radar and things are being discussed.

An easier way to do this is to simply offer a "last chance" loot of sorts which the loot contains all the people who've been removed.
Or...
Run an event where the reward is people getting to pick a superstar who isn't currently available in the game. Kinda like how they do those prize walls for characters from loots.. do the same thing with those.
Or..
Just run a fire sale where people can buy those champs at 2 or 3 * for a reasonable bit of cash, like how they've done with Andre several times.

What about dropping the cost to recruit down to the 1 star bronze level before they go on the shelf?
(I really don't envy whoever has the task of keeping track of all these licensing agreements)

wouldnt it be Benificial to everybody if unobtainable cards such as sincara. Matt. Wade Barrett. Dudley boys. Arn. Valentine. Be either reskinned and made obtainable for the new players. Or give Newly releases cards the trainer/ coach abilties of the unobtainable cards…
ive played for a while now and had a break. Personally I think releasing a card for a while then locking it out of the game is unfair.

yeah, it's definitely been holding me back for a while. I've missed out on essentials like sin cara, zombie brock, matt, rezar and daniel bryan. I was forced to bring the fiend up to 5ss because he's my best showboat yet after all this time I never managed to get zombie brock so he's not anywhere near as effective as he could be. sin cara and matt would've been nice for blue chipper this week, and of course matt is just useful anywhere. I've needed daniel bryan for stephanie's submission moveset for a while. I haven't needed rezar yet but he would be great to have for contest superstars. as said, a lot of people have also sat at the bottom of my roster because I lack these essential trainers to make them effective, so it would be fantastic if these cards could either be remodelled or removed, then replaced with new ones. it's understandable that remodelling cards isn't very profitable since the work is going into making a new card yet its a card a lot of people already have, but the playerbase should be considered a lot more than it currently is in the sense of these essential trainers. this is why I believe the current ones should be removed and then a new card can be made with the same training ability, that way a profit can be made without giving people the chance to double up on these trainers and break cards, although the odds of getting the cards would have to be improved if that were to be the case. overall though, I wholeheartedly agree with this post and it would be nice to see these changes at some stage.

Those would all require using/promoting characters that scopely is not allowed to promote. If this was possible they wouldn't be removed in the first place.
