Animation changes? Change them back, please?

So with this latest update, the way gem breaks happen, the way heath bars reduce, and the choices of animation have all gotten very laggy and awkward. It appears to be an intentional choice by Scopely and I can't for the life of me understand why. It's uglier, clunkier, slower, and feels less organic. Previously, a pin from damage or to an opponent in danger would organically go into a move animation. Now it's either a roll-up or I have to wait for my character try needlessly do a silly stomp and then pin? It's kinda funny to me because it legitimately seems like something the game would have done in earlier days before it really found its fitting but it's doing it seemingly on purpose in 2021? It's painful.

Hey griffin, thanks for the feedback. These changes are intentional, due to some of the features in the latest upgrade this allows the game to run on the servers more efficiently. Give it some time and If it's still a detriment let us know, a lot of previous features with updates had similar feedback that ended up being better in the long run.

I mean, it's been like this on the web portal for probably a month and a half and that went from being my preferred method of playing the game to something I actively avoided. I didn't get used to it or anything like that, it just started bothering me more and more. I appreciate the answer a lot, but it's a terrible experience, I can't think of one positive thing to say about the changes even though I wish I could, and I pray they consider changing them back.

i dont think making the match run slower for players is gonna do us players any benefits.
the amount of matches we have to get through a day, this feature just wastes like another 15-30% of our playtime

My goodness, thankfully there's already a thread about this.
Absolutely terrible. I mean breaking the gems and see cascades going of in a visually appealing fashion is ultimately the meat of games like this. If it looks like shit - and the discrete, clunky drop down of cascade right now, for instance, is so much worse than whatever we've had before. Or depleting the health of a low level opponent - health number goes to 0, but the health bar remains full until the pin animation is done. There nothing satisfying about this.
And finally: this is not just a question of preference. Back when the gems were changed, I also thought at first the new ones looked worse, but yeah, you adjust, but matches being slower and animations not flowing into each other anymore? Yeah, fuck that. There's nothing redeeming here. Frankly, hearing how it's supposed to be easier on the servers sound like a mockery with how many issues the upgrade brought: never in my time with the game had I to replay so many matches I've had already won.
