Overall l, I feel this event is hot and cold. Love having the gauntlet blitz going, but I feel this time around it is geared towards rare. And needing Characters not everyone has.

I think that the limited tour is being geared toward those who are spending money on the game only and isn't an option to complete for every player.

So Overall I think this event is just a money grab 🤔

Thanks Scopely. There's not even a way to grind this own. Every more unobtanium. Every new event is another slap in the face. As usual.

Another slap in the face money grab. I'm back on my personal spending ban. Way to go Scopely. I had high hopes for this one too. Oh well.

Where can I find the actual requirements for each spot on the gauntlet blitz. Also a hell.mode gauntlet blitz is 2 matches...requiring a minimum of 6 superstars makes no sense. Please stop.doing this.

offering the characters needed for the day one is cool. Requiring a level up to 3 star silver to get past the first node is not cool.

  • I would give feedback on the event if I could actually participate in it. The talent required just to even attempt "normal" mode is just too high, and I don't have the thousands of dollars that would be needed to get my talent there. I have participated in, thrived in, and loved some of the past events, but this one is just too much and too far out of reach in reality. Maybe I can join the fun next event.

Why are some of the zombies missing from the loot pull? I don't seem to see zBrock here? He just didn't make the cut, did he?! :D Will update more as event goes on.

the event is all right. Wish the HHH was the zombie version and not the MOTU HHH that is easily attainable in the daily login chest each month.

Have to disagree here. But I suppose its how you define average. Most players I know including f2p will be able to hit milestone 11 in the contest. If you hit milestone 11 for every member of the faction the entire faction receives a top tier zombie. This being somewhat difficult makes sense in that regard. And if some can't hit milestone 11 it's entirely posible for others to carry them by hitting more. If the reward was z asuka then sure make it easy for everybody but it's bryan one of the best powerhouses in the game.

I think you are vastly overestimating what the average player, especially the f2p base, will be able to accomplish on contest. Sure, most of them will have the "common" zombies that have been more or less given away over the past years. A solid portion of the player base will have zCena and zPaige from he past couple of years. But let's take a moment to be realistic and say out of these, Cena and Paige are really the only ones that most are going to focus any time, attention, and resources on. The rest are just...well, awful to try and use. I'm guessing most players won't spend their relatively limited resources to increase the talent of zombies that they aren't going to be using often, if ever, outside of these zombie specific contests 2-3 times a year. You're also assuming a full faction of 100 people that actively play, and will be able to reach, as a collective average, milestone 11 in the solo contest.

Now, if you have something to show different, and that you're likely right in that most will be able to hit 11, please by all means. I'm willing to keep an open mind if presented with new information. No offense is intended at all when I say this, but looking at your top 5, the number of battles you're playing, the faction you're in, etc...I think you may be a bit out of touch with the 'average' player base. And I do mean no offense sincerely, as if you're happy playing more than myself or others, by all means, I support that. Myself though, I'm guessing the average player is much more likely to hit somewhere between milestones 3-7, being generous on the upper end, since you have to have specific superstars, at a talent capable of winning the matches to make any progress.

Most contests tend to have a way to grind out points to reach at least a milestone that feels worthwhile...and 11 would feel worthwhile and worth pushing for if that were the case. Trying to justify the contest design by saying 'oh, well, its one of the best powerhouses in game currently' is ludicrous. That means it was either intentionally designed to be exclusionary, hoped it would function as a large money grab, or both. Neither of which is good for the players as a whole. I'm not sitting here saying that zBryan should just be given out like candy for showing up, but it could have been designed much better to give a broader number of players a chance even.

The milestones of the event are unreachable for F2P players, since zombies given for free too are to be upgraded to a significant level, for which, not all the players have the resources. Only good for those who spend a lot of money.

I was expecting a lot from this event, since I don't have many zombie characters, and getting some good ones for free would have been great.

Hope that we get a better event for F2P players in the future.

    4/10.

Limited ways to progress. Maybe include a talent up for zombies to earn points for next time. Having one node puts emphasis on trying to pull for a character, as far as pulls go gives a false notion of progress.

Most players you know are well above average. I have a 968k roster and barely got my zombie AJ passed Bryan. Took me 7 props and I still only 2 stared it. This is the only match I've been able to win.

Did you use a throw away strap with a base move damage medal on it? Because the f2p players I know did that and had no issues with it. I asked in town hall which includes players that aren't "exceptional" and even they said it wasn't that difficult and it was reasonable considering the reward was one of the best 5SS powerhouses in the game. Many completed with 3sb and 3ss versions of characters with ease. I finished normal with an under 5k zaj without throwing trainers on him. investing to take him to 3ss is reasonable if it gets you bryan.

Most contests don't have a top tier faction reward. I have 2 5ss powerhouse and Bryan is one of them. It is WAY more available than I would expect for a card this good. This was asked on town hall and not one person complained about the difficulty even with lower ranked factions. Using a throw away strap makes this MUCH easier to do for a top card. Not all events are meant to be maxed by everybody and this one is far from the worst and better than average.

3sg zAJ at 6400 talent with an epic strap and various combinations of trainers. 5th attempt was the aforementioned 7 prop, 2 star result.

And that's my second best zombie and my best AJ.

I'd like to state that first of all, I never stated that all contests rewards should be available to all players every contests. You can talk about using a strap, or using props, etc all you'd like, but at the end of the day, if people have to invest mass amounts of coin and tp to be able to even have a chance in competing in these matches, for superstars they are rarely if ever going to use (again), all for the hope that your faction does the same, is a risky proposition at best.

You keep alluding to the idea that as one of the top powerhouses in game that maybe zBryan shouldn't be available for average players and factions to be received as a reward. Does that affect you somehow if that's the case? Should average players who aren't whales not have a shot at getting good superstars as contest rewards for some reason? For the life of me, I truly can't understand why others having someone you have maxed would be a bad thing.

No idea what this town hall is you speak of. Though based on your responses thus far, I'm disinclined to believe that no objections were raised. As before though, if you can link or show something to the contrary, its a point I'm willing to concede in that instance.

Like I said before, I'm pretty sure you're well out of touch with what the average or f2p player is going to be able to accomplish. Way, way out of touch. For that, I'm even going to point toward the current leader board. Yes, I know the point gains per day per player and per faction won't be consistent. To reach the top faction milestone, a faction needs to average a cumulative total of 214, 286 points per day. As of the time I'm writing this, only the top 30 factions are on track to receive the final faction contest milestone rewards. Out of the lower 70 factions, 40 of those factions have a total of one days average points needed going into day 3. The last 10% of the *top 100* factions have roughly 1/2 of one days points needed.

But please, keep telling me how the average player, and the average faction has any real chance or hope of getting anywhere near the final milestone.

This was looking like a fun contest but nope it's geared to big spenders and good luck can't earn the rewards by grinding even yep epic fail but holding out hope for a open mode to at least get a few medallions

  • 1truking
    1truking Member ✭✭✭

You have a faction store which means you have access to straps that have the medal slot. You have access to t3 move damage medals through farming. You don't need to invest massive amounts of resources which is why this isn't a bad situation. You need to invest relatively minimal amount for a top character. 40k damage per move will quickly clear the health bar of the normal mode opponent and even the hard mode opponent so even with minimal investment you can clear normal mode.

That's one heck of a hill you're choosing to make your stand on. I mean, I'll give you that you're really trying. But I'm pretty sure you've lost touch as to what it means to be an 'average' player quite a long time ago, the way you're speaking, and just making it all sound so easy. Not to mention how you casually and completely ignore anything else said lol.

Oh, and currently, as of when this is being written, only 22 factions are currently at the avg faction points minimum needed to be obtained daily to reach the last milestone in the faction contest. Only another 20 that are at half that total.

Which means in all likelihood no more than 50 factions, being generous, are going to reach the max milestone, if the current trend continues.

But those 50 factions that do make it are the average and f2p factions right? And represent the majority of the active player base, yeah!

    Oh, wait...no...they don't.

Very surprised by the negative feedback for this event.

The event has very generous rewards which can be earned by a lot of factions simply by beating tours. By my count, 8 of the required zombies have been given out completely free in the past with multiple others accessible through various events or MLC chases. If a faction averages between 9 and 10 zombies each, they can max the event without spending a single dollar.

The difficulty of the tours is also very reasonable. A lot of my characters for this event are around 5k talent, but I was still able to find a way to beat each node using submissions and/or straps. The rewards more than justify investing some resources to beat the tours.
