"new" 10 minute timer in standard matches

Why has a 10 minute idle timer been adding into standard matches?
I play the game quite often in work and frequently have to stop midmatch to serve customers but now I'm not going to be able to because it'll kill off whoever I'm using. Its already emptied out my 5sb Edge and 5ss Carmella, 4sg KoK on the VIP Tour and NWO Ted on the tax day tour before I realised what was killing them all off.
Why would you add such a thing and what is the point of it?

To a certain degree I can appreciate this. There are those times where the game gets stuck in the loading screen and the only way out is to force close. This gets you out without restarting. BUT to lose all your health is not at all appropriate in either situation.
I have the exact same problem as the OP, sometimes I play at work and the game has to sit for longer periods of time. I shouldn't come back to find I've been kicked out of a match AND lost all my health on top of it. I didn't back out of a match because I was losing, you should lose all of your health for that.

Feuds is one reason. people frequently fall asleep or stop and trap their partner.

Well then put the timer only during feuds

Would the 10 minute idle time kick them out of the brawl though? And unlink them from the opponent?

Yeah, for general game play this is just a bad idea. Today I was playing one of the LT tours and I had to stop and take a phone call.
I came back with 2 minutes to spare.
Bad bad idea for general gameplay.
