Removed sting wolfpac shards from store so now how can we recruit him

Could have just made the soon to be retired guys 1sb give aways through a loyalty gift or a mini tour to earn shards points on the lootboxes for those who wanted to try to grind it out for him

Let me first say that I completely understand that this is a pretty complex issue and this is in no way as easy as a lot of people have been mentioning. I also can kind of understand that your guy's hands are tied in a lot of these more complex issues. I ALSO get that a lot of people are really going nuclear and are completely overreacting on something you personally most likely have no control over.

But as players, this sucks. I am not half as close as some of these other players, but I have been working towards him, and basically have enough showdown coins to buy him if I had the opportunities. And now, after people have been working towards him for a long time, a pretty popular character was removed. Our progress is now useless. I think it's important to acknowledge players got kind of screwed here.

I mentioned in a previous thread (about Matt Hardy) that I think these issues could be solved rather easily with a shard feature similar to the star fragment system. Being able to purchase an item in the showdown shop that acts as a "shard of your choice" would be a good middle ground.

Regardless, this was a "decision" that sucks for a lot of players, and don't let some people's overreactions make you lose sight of that.

There are Stings still in other parts of the game so the Answer we got doesn't seem 100%

If he can still be in other parts of the game he should be able to be put in store to exchange our shards for the rarity that we are near, like 800 shards for 3sg.

I don't doubt this being the case, considering how long it took for the Enzo/ADR reskins. However, this is an issue that you guys will now be facing, with some key trainers, like Striker Sting and Rusev, no longer being in the game. However, you have to understand that this looks like a major bait-and-switch scam, considering that just three weeks ago, you promoted that his shards would be more readily available, only to completely pull him from the game a short time later with no warning.

A simple solution is this: Change the shards required to unlock him. Make it 400 to recruit him at 3ss or 800 to unlock him at 3sg. This way, he isn't handed out to everyone, but those who invested resources and money into unlocking him would be rewarded for their effort.

We know this is possible, with how quickly you guys responded to the Drew McIntyre situation when his shard amount was changed so quickly.

It is ok to throw your players a bone every now and then.

Two questions, then:

1. Why can't you change the amount of shards required to recruit him? Make it 800 instead of 1200. I know this can be done, because just last month, you did the same thing with the new Drew McIntyre. In fact, you did it twice. From 1200 to 2000, and then back from 2000 to 1200.
2. If you can't (or won't) change the shard recruitment amount, what am I supposed to do with 1,100 Wolfpac Sting shards?

I'm sure it's quite a while, but we all know why this is happening, and that's a situation that's been reality for a couple of months now. It could have been addressed back then, or at the very least, it could be in the works now. There's a difference between saying that a solution is coming down the road vs. this ends immediately and there's nothing we can do about it.

The thing that makes it worse is the announcement just a couple of weeks ago that he would start to show up more often, which he did. I saw him 3 times in the store after not having seen him for probably a couple of months. That announcement meant that more coins were spent on him than had been previously, then the rug gets pulled out just a couple of weeks later.

The ask was to lower the number needed to recruit, not to distribute additional posters or shards. Maybe do something to do right by the players who were mislead into spending resources on this.

If you're going to say that even that is not allowed, I'm curious how the contests that allowed people to pick anyone they wanted worked? The only restriction I recall on those was, coincidentally, wolfpac Sting, who I assume you wanted to be showdown exclusive. If someone was foolish enough to ask for Dvon, did you tell them no?

@Stagger Lee We appreciate you getting back to us, as frustrated as you may be with it, but there is one question that keeps getting brought up that hasn't been addressed.

A lot of our frustration as players for this removal that hasn't been there for past character removals, stems from the fact that a lot of us, like myself, spent resources and our own money to chase these shards, solely based on Scopely's post about the rate of those shards being increased.

So, why not change the amount of shards required to unlock him from 1200 at 4sb ro 800 at 3sg. This way, those who made that big push to get him will still be able to have that character, and won't feel that our time, resources, and money have gone to waste over something that none of us had any control over.

Personally I'd be pissed off that I spent tons of SD coins to recruit him only to have people get him for nothing. You'd have to find a cut off point and people would still be mad.
