Signature move help

Can someone please explain to me why it is that when I do a submission my opponents signature move bar goes up instead of down

    That only happens when the opponent has a plate that can raise MP when a certain color is matched. For instance, a General's Orders plate raises yellow MP by 3 when a red match is made. So if they're breaking red gems during the submission, they'll actually gain yellow back. Be wary of these plates when using characters focused on subs.

    As explained above they might have a special MP skill plate that is break X color gain Y color.
