Negative Submission Moves - Please explain how this trainer works

I have a bunch of superstars that have a trainer ability like "Red Submission Moves last -2 Turn(s)". How does this work exactly?

If I apply it to myself, it says it has no entourage benefits even if I have a Red Submission Gem. So maybe it's defensive? But then why is it always on the bottom of the trainer list in the section with "No Entourage Effect Benefits"? How are these supposed to be used?

The trainers work on your character so if you have a 5 turn submission move it would drop to 3 turns. There are ones that work on opponents turns but it will specify it reduces the opponents turns. some entourage don't reflect that they have an effect even if they do. Please not you can't drop below 1 turn on a sub.

If you are more interested in the gem modification after the submission move ends then you might benefit from the opponent having fewer chances to remove those gems.

Example, zombie Gunther...if you want the board full of silence gems then maybe you want the opponent to have less chances to break the submission gems.
