Kickout gem power

How is kickout gem power determined. I asked scopely support, they said it's based on my superstars health. 5star fiend health was 1.4 million left out of 1.6 million and i lost because kickout gems were too weak. So, they must have lied. I just want a straight answer. Or is there a link or something so I can read up on it. Also, this happens everyday with all superstars.

It’s based on the move level. The base kick out damage is based on health, the power gems are flat damage on top of base
