How to complete a contest

Every time there is a new contest, I do my best and usually get somewhere in the middle. When I look at the rankings there are always people who have collected enough points to complete the contest within a few hours. Does anyone know how they do it, or can give me some tips?

Is it that when you are league 18 you earn more contest points, or is it through spending $$$ on loot coins?

Any advice much appreciated! 😊

    It's just the top players spending hundreds or thousands of dollars, nothing more.
