Sandbox Mode

One of the most common features in tower defense games is a sandbox mode where you can test different strategies under scenarios you control, with no actual consequence to the game environment or economy.

For this game that would mean you can use any card(s) against any card(s) in any game mode with any rules/props/perks/whatever you want, but for no rewards. I would love to see something like this in Champions for two main reasons:

1) It would make me more likely to chase a card if I could test out how they perform for myself. You could say to watch a content creator video, but those don’t always match the entourage I’d be able to use or even all the permutations of movesets I’d like to try. Further, the perks in the videos may not match the environment where I’d use them (tour vs. feud vs. showdown). The same problems apply to trial characters, though I do think those have been a great step forward. Savvy players work around this by doing the calculations manually, but that doesn’t always match what happens on the gem board.

2) Hey look, we all like to argue about cards with our friends in the community. It would be great to be able to prove strategies out with your friends through empirical evidence over just conjecture. It’s fun to have that control over the scenarios to test out your theories and further enjoy the game. If I say that I could make Alexa Bliss’s turn last forever I’d love to show that in a match even though she isn’t on my roster.

I understand that something like this could take a lot of developmental work, but hey if Jeff Bezos could go to the moon in a Pringles can, there’s hope for anything these days.
