Will share more once finished with the event. However a very important factor that should be considered is that Scopely just had an event requiring completion of showdown matches. To continue in that event, you inevitably would have gained showdown tokens for the day.

Unfortunately, this event gives points for earning showdown tokens as well. This means that if a player is willing to do as much as they can (as I was told to do by a mod in a previous thread) in the previous event, they immediately have a disadvantage in maxing this new event. A reset of daily tokens being earned in showdown should occur at the start of the new event if there are going to be back-to-back events requiring showdown matches to be completed.

I did solo as well as faction contest

The solo rewards were good but the factions ones meh, even the points to. score for the factions can be improved likin a way we have for the wild ones.

The solo contest, its good, you get points from community portal as well as in game points so its balanced.

    Overall rating 8/10

Now how is this fair or right 100 bonus points for 3,000 matches per showdown match using a tech. Use Mankind in a 1,000 for 100 bonus per match, use Orton 1000 per match for 100 bonus points. Seems kinda crazy and nuts .. how are we supposed to hit milestone with 💩 like this .. smh just seems unreasonable and unfair and nutz

An idea for showdown would be to make specific superstar requirement for defense. Gets tedious to fight the same Mr Socko or Zombie HHH every fight.

All in all a solid event. Solo milestones are very generous. Loving all the coin and tp so I can stock up for next months talent up.

  • This event has been very generous the tour was easy to complete the solo milestones are easy to reach and the rewards are great

The solo contest points and faction bonus points were glitched but fixed later

The faction contest points are easy to finish as long as every one does there part as it has characters accesible to everyone

The bags are great especially for many who get the chance to get the remaining shards for gargano if they didn't

Overall its a great event that I'm enjoying

The last showdown was on point this time around you guys broke it again.

The point system was screwed up at the beginning.

My opponent selection was set to extremely difficult with nothing but 1 turn Socko’s that wore out the boss plate.

Prizes got ghosted from the portal now I have missing items in my inventory again

It was working so well the last time I don’t know why it was as broken again this time around.

This. It's not even fun to participate. I don't have a single 5SS yet and all I get is 5SS fully strapped Socko's, most of which were like 200-400 points higher than me. It can't be this hard to match players. Also, when spending coins to refresh the opponents, you should not be handed the same set. If so, refund the coins.

Game experience is better than ever and it's being better day by day.

Best part: Debut of new characters.

Worst part: Stipulation tour is so boring and time taking.

Improvement: You have to improve stipulation tour short.

    For example:

    1. Reduce the nodes to only four.

    2. When we take 3 stars, match should be end.

    3. Nine turns of stipulation tour makes it lengthy.

    Thanks & regards

Overall, this showdown was relatively painless for me. Changing the outlook of these contests from maxing at all costs to taking what I can get and running has made my quality of life much better :p

    pros

-tours we’re pretty straight forward. Using the css that are available in bags for the same event makes sense and was a welcomed change

-list of css for the showdown portion consisted of characters most would have, another bright spot

-short, easy weekend after the feud grind the week before and the midweek showdown grind

-faction milestones were easily obtainable and well balanced, solo milestones were also pretty balanced as well

    cons

-no shards of debut character available. Bliss event all over again

-max solo milestones were pretty out of reach without a grind element (I know, defensive wins can be “farmed” but it’s more luck based that someone finds you and gives you the free points)

    Tours

    Good

    • Tour length was perfect, four nodes is ideal for these weekend tours
    • Contest superstars were reasonable - you could get the men in the bags and for Normal/Hard in the women's tour most experienced players got those characters for free or with key pulls.
    • Difficulty to reward ratio was perfect: Not amazing one-time rewards but didn't require you to take on a 5SB Trickster Rock.

    Bad

    • I can tell that Scopely is leaning on Trickster Rock as an "end-boss" for tours recently and it just smacks of laziness. We all know he's a great character, but why not mix it up a little bit?

    Solo Contest

    Good

    • A very reasonable amount of matches needed to complete the contest superstar requirements. The less we see of those showdown weekends where you get a piddly amount of points for using a character 50 times, the better. For me, it took away the sting of not having Hall of Fame Honky Tonk Man or Damien Priest, because I got everything I could get out of the contest and was able to focus on maximizing my showdown coin collection and then moving on to daily tasks in the game.
    • The rewards have been greatly improved, and I'm thankful. Coin amounts are up, I feel like TP could still use a slight bump but I definitely got a decent chunk for finishing 75 percent of the milestones.
    • I think the first-time bonus for loot coin spending is a really smart decision - it encourages at least small purchases from players and rewards them in kind. 500K points as a reward for that is no joke.

    Bad

    • Honestly? Not that much this time around. Would've been nice to maybe get some Damien Priest shards guaranteed in the later milestones instead of the bags that have been mostly spitting out Drew/Gargano/HTM shards. I also appreciate it when the showdown coin earning is at 100 solo points per coin but I'm sure that number is tuned based on the max score to encourage purchasing and things like that. I get it.
    • That being said, it would be nice to have some kind of grindable element to these solo contests where we can maybe get a set number of points for winning showdown matches, similar to the feud contests. If people want to go through the trouble of that, they should be rewarded for doing so.

    Faction Contest

    Good

    • Ultimately, this was pretty straightforward to max out for most factions. I think there was a goof with the scoring based on what was on the blog vs. in-game but it ended up working out in the players' favor so you won't hear me complaining about it.
    • Allowing for faction points to be gained with showdown coins, even at just one point per coin, was definitely a great call.

    Bad

    • Again, not much this time. Once again, guaranteed Damien Priest shards, especially for the last milestone, would have definitely been nice. And when you're looking at a contest that maybe the top 90 factions are going to max, it wouldn't have hurt to put in a few more coin/TP rewards.

    The Showdown Experience

    Good

    • The "opponent unavailable" issue is now far in our rear-view mirror and I couldn't be happier. I really appreciate the developers working to make the showdown experience a little bit more streamlined and to not have that technical issue that really derailed most people's experiences on Day 1 and trying to get retaliations.
    • Whatever tech is in place for feuds hasn't been implemented for showdown thankfully, so if I get stuck in a stun lock I can still quit out of the match without much issue.
    • I feel like the game tends to throw out a low notoriety opponent now every once in awhile on the first few refreshes, which is appreciated to just keep everything moving - I'd rather get a couple notoriety off a low opponent than suicide against a 5SS duo.

    Bad

    • This is bigger than the showdown experience, but there is a definite power gap in the game now as Socko has been joined by Trickster Rock in terms of annoying Turn 1 opponents. If variety is a priority for the development team, then rotating ban lists should be considered to force players to build up a better variety in their roster. But I do think having broken characters like that in the game is good for business because it gets people spending to try and be part of the problem.
    • I do think a matchmaking experience that offers a better variety of opponents based on notoriety would create a better experience. In the three matches offered per refresh, there should always be someone at my current notoriety, someone above my notoriety that I can try to challenge for more notoriety, or someone at a lower notoriety that I may be able to beat easier for less notoriety as a result. I think it would make cleaning up contest superstar requirements a lot easier, which makes for a happier player base that may be more receptive to spending.

So far, the event has been decent. I like showdown matches, and as my roster continues to increase in size and strength, it will get better. I am not a major fan of the limited opponents though. It seems that most have the same two in every option.

I am starting to enjoy the game again. I work very closely with my faction members and I enjoy seeing them pull new superstars as well as myself. It seems like some items and characters are becoming more attainable and it's a thrill to see a player that doesn't have the strongest roster pull a new guy that can be a "Game Changer". Thanks for that.

So far, the event has been fine. I like showdown matches and my roster got better. The free Sika is good and well to develop.

Bad are more freezes. And I couldn't claim the free daily rewards for the second time today.

This week's contest seemed to be fairly similar to other SD contests in the past and had many of the similar perks and drawbacks of all other recent SD events. That being said, I'll try to hit on the biggest aspects:

    Tours:

    Pros:

    • It's always good to have more open tours and less tours restricted to a specific character or wrestler. All tours were able to be completed and the contest characters were also obtainable during the event itself to some degree.
    • Opponents in the tours were not ridiculously difficult or strapped. It's always a pain to have to face a fully strapped 5sb in a tour, especially if the restrictions are for weak characters that no one would work on otherwise.

    Cons:

    • It does seem a little silly to place contest points behind superstars that are also required for the SD event itself. It's almost like a double penalty if you don't have that specific superstar. I'd prefer the contest points being the main reward and the TP or coin being the contest bonus.

    SD Event:

    Pros:

    • No more "waiting on opponent." This is fantastic and I'm glad to see it's a thing of the past.
    • Decent mixture of contest superstars so that everyone had at least some of the required wrestlers.
    • Overall, no connection issues or other technical errors, at least that I noticed.

    Cons:

    • This is more of a broader SD issue, but with the -5MP perks, SD has become very Socko, Apex Orton, and DX Shawn heavy. Sure, there are ways to beat each of these opponents, but it becomes more of an issue of effort and HP required rather than skill. I may make a larger suggestion post in the future, but something has to be done to "shake up" SD a little.

    Overall Event:

    Pros:

    • Decent rewards that were obtainable without too much effort. Nice mixture of rare vs. common characters.
    • Lots of shards given out for Gargano and Tech Drew. Anyone that was close to unlocking them before the event likely got enough for recruitment.

    Cons:

    • Another "all or nothing" with the weekly character only being available via loot or bags. Nothing is more frustrating than walking away from the weekend with 0 shards of the new wrestler.
    • Online event ended at noon PST on Sunday, while the event itself continues for 24 more hours. I am much less likely to spend $ if it's no longer contributing to the portal event. Why not make the portal event last the entire length of the contest itself?
    • If you already had Gargano or Tech Drew, you likely walked away will a few hundred extra shard of each from the bags. If the character is already unlocked, these shards have little to no value other than maybe being able to level up a move or two for that character.
    • Final milestone was all but impossible without all characters and a decent amount of spending.

    Suggestions:

    • Extend online portal event to coincide with contest end.
    • Make milestone bags more relevant to all players. I am very unlikely to spend $ on a milestone bag in the store if I have no idea what I'm going to get out of it. I could spend $100 on a gold milestone bag and end up getting 100 Gargano shards, which is basically worthless to me.
    • Prize Wall? - I would much rather get some sort of prize wall currency via bags and be able to select what I get rather than have to rely on RNG. If I only want HTM shards, then I could focus specifically on that. Maybe even make the weekly superstar available at a low rarity for those that didn't pull him via bags. A sample setup could be:
    • Bronze Bag: 2sb wrestler or 1 - 3 prize wall tokens
    • Silver Bag: 3sb wrestler or 2 - 4 prize wall tokens
    • Gold bag: 4sb wrestler or 3 - 5 prize wall tokens
    • Platinum bag: 4sg wrestler or 6 - 10 prize wall tokens
    • From here, you could make each characters shards a different price based on rarity. If completing the event would get you approximately 50 tokens total, then offer a 2sb variant of the event character for 50 tokens. Those that just missed him/her would be more likely to purchase additional bags if it's essentially a "sure thing."

I did not think this showdown contest was very balanced at all. Needing about 2 million in the solo event to reach milestone 15 with not enough special character bonus is why I believe the showdown tournaments now are a “pay to win” type of event. The amount of points available without spending enough for 200+ loot pulls is out of control.

The best thing about this weekend’s event are the tours, being able to play and get some resources and if you have the bonus characters, you can get points towards both solo and faction events.

Overall this is a glass half empty and glass half full event which is to be expected from this game and Scopely.

My event points were always different after finishing a match to what they were in the solo event, this seems to happen in most events now and it gets frustrating when u don't receive a reward because of it

  • Zenshi

Much better than last event. Things ran flawless and didn't have a bunch of bug issues at the beginning! Yeh!

The events were well rounded and check point prizes were alright.

It's nice to see a good chunk of the CP were attainable by F2P people and to max it took some loot pulls.

I think that should be the formula for most SD events, with a F2P max every once in awhile.

Overall - I enjoyed the event, wasn't too much stress to max the F2P portion of it.

This event was very good, almost completed the Solo event and was enjoyable, people lowered their defenses (good on ya boi). Only problem so far is that today Sunday there's no freebie rewards to be seen at the Portal.

Another week, another showdown. How's this one stack up?

    • Priest is a good add, as he's a big newcomer to Raw at the moment. There's people I think needed to be added before him (Ali, Morrison, Alexander) but I'm not going to lament that or anything - I know that selection process is likely more complicated than I'm aware of, and is possibly largely influenced by WWE as opposed to you guys. Also didn't have to get adjusted post-release, but that's because he's already more than a little bit powerful.
    • Tours were also good - Contest points were saved for the contest bonus, and the faction bonus were saved for the harder of the two to qualify for. PPV tour was also much better executed (bonuses for men/women present, but not required) but I think having the tour be mixed up meant that people had to stop and pick who they wanted for every match - I'd just prefer a smaller men's and women's tour to prevent having to go back into my roster regularly.
    • Showdown was mixed in my opinion. The bonus superstars were pretty well handled and you didn't have to play like 80 matches to fill them (unless you worked on the faction contest but lol @ actually playing faction contests) but my big issue with this week's showdown was the matchmaking. The second you hit 400 notoriety, the match maker cranks up the difficulty to 11 and throws nothing but the absolute strongest people at you at the highest notoriety, and refuses to calm down even if you drop below 400. A little bit of a smoother transition would be nice, because it basically means that once you hit 400 your weekend is over for a lot of people. Really irritating.
    • Rewards were alright - they weren't all backloaded to the top, and otherwise they were perfectly fine. I'm not a big fan of not getting shards for the featured character like with these and the Trickster Rock bags, but that's because everyone needs shards for the new guy - you may or may not need shards for the other guys, and depending on your roster you might have all three of the guys shards are getting given away for. Thankfully in this event, despite having 2 out of 3 (Drew and Gargano) I still walked out with, like, 500 more HoF HTM shards than I walked in with, so I'm happy enough with that. I'll also say that despite Gargano not being as rare as he used to be, he's still at least uncommon and useful to have, unlike Cactus Jack in the Rock bags being basically the 'haha you got crap' prize. Still, I'd still have wanted to work towards Priest.
    • Can't really say much about loot or deals this time, but it didn't look awful and you could actually get 3-star posters of interest. Someone posted that they got a second HoF Andre, and all I could think was "Man, I'd really like HoF Andre".

As a side note, I never got my Strowman bag from the ruby shop milestone reward, and I know someone else had the same issue - might be something to look into.

  • Fuzzy_Jojo

I liked this event. It was pretty reasonable as far as requirements for characters.

The shard bags were nice and people really did get to recruit some of the techs in there.

Having this event right on the heels of the previous one that required winning several hundred showdown matches was quite a grind. It also means that you lose the showdown coin points for the day before the event starts.

Conceptually, I thought the event was good. It had a tech theme and the requirements made sense most of the time.

It was refreshing that the tours didn't require getting the new character to run them.

A suggestion I have is to do away with the huge bleed showdown perk. It's been that way for months now and it gets pretty boring to face an unending sea of 5ss Sockos. If some other character attribute was boosted with perks, it would allow some variety in showdown defenses.

  • Punisher9483
    Punisher9483 Member ✭✭✭

Was definitely not thrilled with this one. Showdown events have not been stuck behind a large paywall in awhile... It looked like wa had turned a corner on them, and then you launch this. Not only did you increase tha max milestone by 500k, but you lowered the amount of SD points per SD coin which MASSIVELY effects the total score you can achieve. This above all else is what will be remember. No positive will outweigh a complete screw job of an event like this. If you going to lower the points for a SD coin then give us more of them cause we desperately need it.

As far as positives, there definitely was a few which is great, but once again, the paywalled event hovers over them.

    • tours gave out decent rewards
    • grind was not horrendous
    • more rare characters shards were widely available

    PROs:

    • Contest Superstars extremely well balanced
    • Not too much time-consuming

    CONs:

    • No shards of the new superstar
    • Somehow, players with low defenses are harder to find
    • As usual, when there are technical difficulties on Saturday, an official announcement is nowhere to be found
