Prioritize Black. To fill the 2 other Purple moves with gems, use Big Boot, which is an upgraded version of Monkey Flip at 4-star. Move on to spread out the Trap gems from Rope Aided Hurricanrana, ideally on potential matches lying on the board. Activate the Submission Code of Silence, forcing your opponent to inevitably break those Traps and grant you Purple MP. 

At 5-star, Carmella unlocks Super Frankensteiner. A low charge Purple move that destroys Purple gems. It's a bit more board dependent but you can entirely focus on just 1 color to fill up everything.
