Please can we have an option to disable viewing Global Chat?

This weekend I had the results of both Royal Rumble Matches ruined for me by people posting spoilers in Global Chat.

Not all of us can watch PLEs live, so PLEASE can we have an option to disable viewing Global Chat, so I can stop having major events ruined for me?!
