Final Boss Feud Feedback

  • What I Liked:

I continue to enjoy the new feud perk system as it requires players to open their rosters more and use different characters for feuds. This perk method keeps things interesting from feud to feud and removes some of the “copy and paste” aspect that occurs in many events which I enjoy. Another implementation that was made awhile ago but I continue to think has been an extreme positive was lowering the CSS superstar wins in feud to 3, which allows players to get those done more efficiently and enjoy playing with their roster.

    Areas For Change.

    Milestones and Rewards:

This is the area that I think needs a total revamp for feud. We have recently experienced changes in the flash feud event with milestones and rewards and I think those have been very positive for the most part. In my opinion, a 20-hour feud is more challenging because there are no set breaks, therefore that should be reflected in the rewards. I will try and further break this down because there are many issues involving milestones and rewards with this current structure.

Warscore Milestones should be drastically extended. A competitive player can reach the final warscore milestone in 2-3 hours very easily, which leaves 17 hours of possible feuding without any additional rewards (I will address leaderboard in the next paragraph). The feud-prep talent up milestones were recently upgraded to reflect a stretch milestone that awarded players extra resources/rewards if they want to go above and beyond what is considered the
max” milestone. I think this should be implemented into the feud rewards structure. Feud is a necessary game mode because it allows competitive players to put their rosters against other competitive players which is what makes collecting and leveling up characters fun. However, it is difficult to find a reason to “keep feuding” when there is not much of an advantage gained through rewards. The current warscore milestones are fine but there should be stretch milestones added to really entice players to keep going. For example, maybe add 4 stretch milestones at 250m, 500m, 750m and 1billion. Yes, I realize that not many players will reach those, but it would give players a reason to not stop feuding after 2-3 hours when they hit the 100m mark.

Feud Leaderboard Rewards have been lessened this month and I am not sure why since even before this latest contest they were far too low. I think everyone that finishes top 20 should be able to recruit the card at different rarities. Feuding for as long as it would take to finish top 20 is a incredible accomplishment and commitment to the game and isn’t that half of the goal of the company, to get people to play the game? The current leaderboard rewards basically give no incentive to keep feuding.

I continue to be frustrated by the paragraph that is included in each feud blog post that reads: Remember, the TOP 200 in the Solo Contest can get MORE Shards for The Rock “Final Boss” and, with that, the opportunity to unlock him EARLY and collect Shards for this month’s super chase Triple H “REX REGUM” in the Sunday Blitz! So, keep feuding!”.

I have finished top 20 in feuds several times in the last 6 months, and I have never felt that the rewards were truly worth my time which is unfortunate. Finishing top 20 should afford a player either the card or a guarantee of maxing the solo contest. And this solo contest wouldn’t have even been impressive because the rewards were especially bad. The paragraph in bold mentions finishing top 200 for more Rock shards, but Rock shards were only awarded to the top 50. Furthermore, there were no Rock shards or contest bags in the solo contest milestones after the final “free” milestone. The triple H shards were nice, but they are a drop in the bucket for how high of a shard recruit he is. This contest reward structure was totally unfriendly to players. The bolded paragraph is also misleading because it implies that if a person “keeps feuding” they will finish in the top 200, which often is not possible because the feud rewards (outside the top 4-10 feud depending) do not allow a player to outscore a spender. I am all in favor for people spending money because it keeps the game alive, if the company thrives then the game thrives, but I have finished top 20 in several feuds and been outside the top 200 in solo contest and I think that takes away from the “keep feuding” mantra.

There have been some great and long overdue changes to the game recently and I would really like feud rewards, solo contest rewards, feud milestones and how they compare to each other to really be examined. Another suggestion would be to give a certain amount of people on the feud leaderboard extra shards of the contest superstar, maybe it gets the player very close and they are enticed to do a couple pulls for their remaining shards. In the end there needs to be more incentive for people to give their time to feud for an entire 20 hour event, because the way milestones and rewards are structured, the feud should just be reduced to 5 or 6 hours. I don’t think adding better rewards (directed at shards or poster of the CSS for top feuders) and more stretch milestones is too much to ask.

The weekend debut of the final boss was a fumble, it’s too bad what could have turned into a positive weekend has left a sour taste for everyone involved (not just the players). The bags were a mistake but the response from management was worse.     After the MLC points mistake of last month,  public opinion was at a low. It’s clear now that the introduction of the new meta has stretched the dev team thin and allowed many mistakes to slip through. The appropriate thing to do in this situation would be to own the mistake and move on. Instead, a knee jerk reaction of adjusting the bags after 45 minutes was made. Followed by a series of decisions that make everyone feel bad.

Players that got the Rock - feels bad to have something taken away from you even if you understand , you shouldn’t have been able to get it in the 1st place. Some of these players are also left wondering “what if I was that lucky 0.01%” that would have got him from the bag and now I got punished for doing nothing wrong”

Players that did not get the Rock - feel bad because they did not receive all of the rewards the others got. The others got to do the victory tour which has valuable resources in it. Why did we get punished because we were not quick enough, some of us sleep, some of us are working or looking after kids. We should have received the victory tour rewards as well.

Devs - feel bad because it feels bad making a mistake and it feels bad to be forced to work overtime on the weekend to fix the mistake.

Mods and customer support- feel bad because of the flood of negativity coming their way.

I cannot think of a single group that would be left feeling good after what occurred.

What should have occurred in my opinion is that everyone should have been given a 3 star final boss Rock. It may have hurt your plans for the month but that is your mistake so that is your consequence. It would not have upset the balance. A mistake occurred at the beginning of the 6ss meta which resulted in 20 6ss tokens being given to the community. That would have affected that meta more than giving everyone the Rock early and we saw that the 6ss meta was not affected negatively by that decision.

Please do better. Be consistent in your decisions for when you make mistakes and always take the response that strengthens your relationship with the community instead of hurting it.

This fiasco left a bad taste for everyone, so it’s difficult to objectively judge the weekend contest. I guess it was alright, seemed like more of the same that we’re used to. The final boss Rock character seems alright but nothing spectacular, I would have expected more from how he is portrayed on television. Would have been nice to have a big bleed move, like he made Cody bleed.

This event was hard to know how to judge because of (1) the whole giveaway mixup and (2) the new meta and monthly Character structure effecting contests and milestones.

I did not spend, and had no faith in spending. These elite characters are already proven to be harder to achieve than the money is worth, and the game itself skews further and further into players paying instead of players playing.

    PROS:

The CSS were common and wide range (meaning "any" Cena, "any" Roman, etc, instead of a specific version). Without a premium character you could still go very far in the contest. The final milestone in that contest did require a high-end character to achieve, but I understand that. Honestly, this may have been the one thing that I really enjoyed in this event.

    CONS:

The confusion in regards to the mixup and when the resolution was going to be distributed.

It seemed as though Fued warscore point values being rewarded were a little lower than I was expecting. I understand that 6 star gold characters are going to give the highest reward, but I only faced 2, I think, throughout the entire event.

The purchasable bundles in the game are giving too few shards for other characters. to spend $100 for only 80 shards for someone is too high, too demanding, and not in proportion to the rest of the game. Inflation is high enough in the tangible market, we don't need the same principals applied in the digital market.

I've given up caring about the step up offers on the portal. (1) The amount of pulls purchasable had gotten reduced and (2) I think they should show ALL steps and rewards so the player can make an educated decision, instead of making a few purchases to see more and then regretting their purchase.

Horrendous solution. Why now do you decide to take away one of your frequent screw ups. All the previous ones before( Grant Camping, Piper Niven, Anniversary pulls fiasco etc.) we got to keep what was screwed up on YOUR end. NOT US. And it was "Due to fairness"

Now in "Fairness" you take back your screw up. Just let us keep it like the rest of the previous screw ups I mentioned above.

Bag issue aside the event had both good and bad points.

It was great having so many css with restrictions that weren’t too tight for the feud, using a variety of people for feud always makes it more fun and gives variety in who you face.

It did feel like an extra slog points wise, the reduction in reward for beating a 6ss and the flow on reductions from that meant a lot more feuds were required for the average person. Maybe a better solution could have been giving a slight increase for beating 6sg rather than a reduction. It would have impacted less people overall and the ones to benefit would have been spenders/long time players that have 6sg posters already.

The bonus goals for feud were pretty underwhelming, specifically the ones that only rewarded a blitz ticket.

The blitz was challenging, a charged 5sg Austin was a decent battle.

The premium prize wall felt a little average for what was required to obtain medallions (compensation excluded) 20k strap parts is a pretty disappointing return for a premium medallion.

The 7 loot coins for 5 medals is always nice to see, many of the faction that don’t normally do pulls were getting a chance to and got some good characters.

It was always going to be difficult to find a balance first feud after the release of 6sg. Matchmaking wasn’t bad, I only came across 1 6sg in my line all feud which was good as I had none.

    6/10 overall.

I'm not in love with the new perks, it just slowed everything down. I don't think removing rock was good either. You don't blame/punish the community for your mistakes. I didn't pull him from a bag, but the precedent is horrible.

    G'day,

Feud weekend is my least favorite weekend event due to time constraints. This one was okay. I was able to run 6 good characters throughout.

I only ran 1 6sg which was enough for the 6sg I encountered.

Tours were same as usual. Didn't get anything special.

End Blitz was same as usual. Didn't get anything special.

I hit the 100 million milestone with about an hour left in the feud. Considering I could only fill the bottom line and didn't purchase the speed up or additional steps, that felt like a win.

Didn't get close to the weekend character because I'm not spending anymore. Even when I was spending, I wouldn't get them, so there's no point.

    Final Boss weekend feedback -

Start of the contest had the issue of "glitched bags" which gave alot of the community The Rock, providing you got him within this 45 minute time frame, through this we were able to beat not only the Final boss tour but also his Victory tour. Which in the preservation of 'Fairness' maybe everybody should be allowed those rewards too?

After the fiasco of losing the rock and i wanna say some of my shards aswell i can honestly say i lost my interest hard in this weekend. At the end of the day, the champ was going to be free anyway. But as it goes you guys made up your made as a collective and put together what you deemed to be sufice 'compensation'.

Tours were horrible, genuinley forced a 6sb Socko to get through it. No way am i buying your bundle with a 5sg when he needs to be 6sb to even benefit from the use of a booyakah plate.

Feud is just going stale, dunno why you couldnt have kept the scoring methods and just made a 450k bonus for beating a 6sg for first time. Alot of players will struggle against them regardless, and it will be time consuming with the amount of damage some of them can only deal. So give the extra for the effort they are doing?

Rewards standard with a 6sg case thrown in there somewhere, would have liked some superstar shards on the prize wall during some of these feuds, would sooner them than a 7x pull that way i know what im getting for the amount.

Blitz limitations to just a ROCK and andrade were abit ridiculous but sure thing, always had it open in the past whatever, easy to just put a low talent in there and use MLC andrade to wipe em out.

Again theres so much already been said about this contest and the dissatisfaction you have caused us players. Just wish that you would have handled this better.

    Event not great at all.

    Weekend was ok.

    Event was ok.

Had most of the CSS needed this weekend, which made it more enjoyable.

I do admit that the rewards for maxing the Warscore need to be looked at, the time it requires for a lack their of rewards is kind of vexing.

Didn’t get caught up in the Rock “issue” as for player in Asia, unless you keep strange hours, you never benefit from any of the screwups.
I would say that the way the incident was handled could’ve been handled better, it would’ve been easier to just send The Rock out to everyone, seeing as nearly everyone will end up getting him in the end, it would’ve been much less hassle and work for yourselves.

Overall, I guess the weekend rates a 7/10
