IT'S TIME FOR A UI UPDATE!!! AGAIN!!!

Hey everybody, 2bob here.

So I've been super busy as of late and haven't been able to post as frequently as I once used to, but regardless of all of that I think that what I'm about to post about would (hopefully) make everyone's lives in the game easier and more enjoyable.

A UI UPDATE!

Now before we start de-railing the idea, because "it's not as important as other things and other fixes in the game", I would like to already preface this by saying "I agree!" There are indeed very important things to still fix in this game. HOWEVER!!! I would also like to remind everyone that we have been told numerous times there are different departments which handle different things for this game! So lets say we all want in-game events to get better, or loot pull odds, or resources provided, etc. Anything along those lines..? The "UI/Art" department can't really help us out with any of that... So just because they can't work on that, doesn't mean they can't still be working on improving the game! And this is why I'm suggesting a movement for this type of update and fix.

Back in 2022, I was actually trying to create an example of what I could show the devs that would be beneficial for all players of all levels to have. A pre-fight UI interface which displays (on the surface!!!) All of the trainers, coaches, skill plates (both regular and ultimate), straps (including bonuses), and medals. Now this sounds like a lot of information to have displayed on the surface, and I will be the first to admit, my own crude drawing back from 2022 was not sufficient to what they would need in order to cover all of this space.

That being said, with the power of photoshop, and a very dedicated playerbase who has stated numerous times (even in my own faction chat alone) that they would do just about anything for an updated UI..? We've created something that ACTUALLY looks decent... It actually looks feasible. And it only took a singular afternoon to create. It wouldn't take up every ounce of space that the pre-match screen has, so there would still be room to grow in the future, and we could still have the benefit of knowing all of this knowledge without needing to pull out the magnifying glass and inspecting every single one of our opponents characters, especially when it comes to a player vs player type of competitive game mode. (Showdown / Feud).

With the new implementation of this +99 MP being not only on 1 or 2 characters, but 2 months worth of people, I certainly think this type of UI upgrade would be a significant benefit for players to avoid the nasty surprises their opponents have on defense. The idea of the game should be strategic and not sneaky. Players should be able to strategize accordingly and not need to invest so much additional time researching each and every character that each and every opponent they come across has in their lineup(s).

I truly believe that this type of upgrade would benefit players from all levels. It will familiarize players of the community to get accustomed to what certain trainers and coaches do, as well as skill plates, and strap bonus symbols. I honestly think this would be a grand benefit, that the entire UI/Art department can work on which would help drastically improve the player experience across new and old players alike. This would not take away from or distract efforts from improving the game elsewhere as this would be strictly a UI request and nothing to do with events, structure, resources, or else. But something that we can all see improvement as time goes on, instead of 2+ years going by, and the initial request of "please put trainers and coaches on the surface" going completely ignored and not being on the roadmap for change any time soon...

I urge you all to let your comments and thoughts be heard on this matter, and really and truly hope we can make a difference for the better.

UI improvement - Swag store multi buy.png

Buying 50 strapparts at a time, and having to go through 3 animation screens, is just not worth it.

Please implement a multiselection button, like when selling medals.

    Update:

Sorry, I had an impression, you were making a thread with UI suggestions, in the form of images. (Like discussed on Town Hall).

Truth be told, I didnt completely read your post, before I started making images. Didnt mean to spam your thread like that.

There are some good suggestions here. We'll pass it on to the team.

Just to tag on to this. Now the Extreme Rules tours are firmly established could we get a filter for the selection screen that shows which characters generate the required gem type. Like there is in the Colour Clash Stip Tours? Thanks.

  • I agree with this post and also all the ideas of Sheisserick are also very good.

Totally agree with every post on here.

We need a Strap filter so I can see all class/era for straps, so I can safely sell the ones I have 9 of!!

Outstanding idea. The current UI interface already struggles to show accurate info on opponent loadouts, so fixing that and making everything easy to access would make be a tremendous QoL improvement in the game.

This is also needed, when Boss Battles require a diverse style roster

When pinned in a match and there is a 'kickout boast' from perks. The kick off boast is shown in the upper left screen and it gets in the way, when you click on your superstar to see what gems do what damage. Every once in a while I need to know exactly what damage each color gem will do , so I know what to proritize to kick out and not lose the match on a 3 count.

3 new sorting functions needed for strap filters.
This suggestion have a whole thread of its own with lots of support, but should be mentioned here as well.

Starp sorting is something that is on the teams radar. No conrete time we'll see it completed and implemented though

I appreciate everyone leaving commentary on the other UI related things this game should receive an update for… But it's completely taken away from the initial point of this thread… The pre-match screen drastically needs an update. After this most recent set of flash feuds, and fighting at least 100 different Zombie Liv characters, it was beyond an annoyance and nuisance to click into every single opponent's Liv just to see if they were using the reversal move or the kickout move. If they're using the reversal I can't use someone with multiply gems unless I want to lose on purpose… which nobody wants to be a loser… and with the kickout move I can't use characters who will not fully deplete her health bar that I would use in the scenarios where I can't use multiply gem characters… If she's using the kickout, use the multi gems and wipe her out. If she's using the reversal use the non-multi / flat gem damage characters to get an easier win.

This experience was horrible over flash feuds weekend and I would like to once again iterate the only thing that I'm pushing this thread for is the PRE-MATCH screen that we DRASTICALLY need an update for… To see what moves are being used, straps, medals, trainers, coaches, etc… It shouldn't be that difficult for it to be implemented, or for people to understand what the benefits of seeing all this information on the surface can be instead of needing to deep-dive and research each and every opponent because of this new reversal mechanic.

I (very loudly mind you) complained about the reversal mechanic being added to the game because of this very issue. The LACK of UI information we get. If players can plan accordingly, then there's no issue. But the way everything is currently set-up is meant for player FAILURE instead of SUCCESS and that's just a horrible feeling. I hope others can see the same, and feel the same way, and let their thoughts be heard on the issue as each and every feud that goes by this experience is drastically more frustrating. And with feud being the cornerstone of this entire games potential competitive game modes, I truly think it needs to be handled with a bit more care and attention to detail.

I'm here, 1 full month later, once again asking for your help with this lack of UI efficiency. Feuds have come and gone, yet the UI remains the same. Please help ALL of us <3

And now with 6sg having been released, I think the need for this UI update is more prevalent than ever. I'm hopeful that we at least have some similar reward structure as we have in the past to keep the top players/grinders interested, because without that this entire request will be completely pointless and useless to begin with. So here's hoping we (the top grinders) can still have something to fight for, and that there's still reason to push this thread. Even without the top, the rewards being strewn out to MORE people than what existed in the past, would actually prove that this request is more beneficial to the masses instead of "just the same 4 people" as has been coined in recent days.

We need more eyes on this!!
It seems like something that would have benefit for the entire community and be a fairly straight forward implementation.

I do agree this kind of update would be greatly appreciated. Mainly the game mode that would be the most useful in Feuds, this would make Faction Feuds alot faster and easier to tell who has what equipped. If a community member can take the time to make this and it look pretty damn good, there would be no reason for a dev team to implement this. it doesnt take up a bunch of room and like i said before this would make Faction feuds more enjoyable not having to click on the opponents character to see what they have equipped. Also with making this change it might make certain people that are competitive and want to continue being competitive (chasing leaderboards for feuds) stay that way. I know i talked alot about Faction feuds but it would not only improve that game mode, but also tours and every other game mode. less time to click through characters and scrolling to see what is equipped rather than just having a small icon by the character would be much appreciated. I hope this reaches the right people and you guys seriously consider this.

    Thank you for your time

The UI & QOL suggestions above are spot on. The UI upgrade would make match prep times lower, thus allowing more time for players to play the game. Isn’t that your ultimate goal, to have us playing more? Also, none of the ideas above seem to be too much of an ask, nor should it be too much of a burden to keep all departments working on things to better the game and the gameplay 🤷‍♂️

The suggestions here, and examples created by the community are great. This should be relatively easy to incorporate to the game. Please have the team work on this.
