I Love Rock’n’Reigns Showdown Feedback

  • The good: showdown is always a good event but the energy should refill faster.

The bad: you need to offer more medallions and sometimes we should be able to grind for the css. And plus css always seem to be better than the chase and they shouldnt be. Plus offer older skill plates that are still useful like rhondas jacket or la familia at a lower cost

The Rock’n’Reigns SD event felt more like punishment for Scopely’s mistake of putting the superstar crates from the collection event into the 1st week tour accidentally. Not really sure why every time something gone in favor of the players, we suffer for weeks or months after.

The SD superstar event I believe was the direct result of said punishment by moving the goal post of the free milestone which always been 1.8m to 1.27m. It would recent quite a few players from reaching the VHS tape solo milestone that was supposed to be free. I personally was not affected by it as I was able to reach the VHS tape with Rocker, but understand that not everyone has him.

The tour was good for the most part. Very standard at this point.

The SD tourney itself was good. It’s challenging having a class on offense or defense. The gem breaking task for the faction event was a good idea, but probably would be much better executed if energy was refilled much faster than 30 minutes.

The prizewall was the first punishment from October’s goodwill and continues today. The prizewall was too expensive where it wasn’t even worth money wise to try to get the 3ss Reigns, which is my first choice in SD weekend events. Just feel like the money spent is not worth the value for this game. Always feel it’s like 30 cents on a dollar worth.

Im not even mad about not pulling the weekend character or plate out of the bag, I’m sure my luck will change for those eventually.

Overall, the event was horrible and seem like my time would have been better spent somewhere else. Friends from this game is really the only thing that keeps me going and even I try to spend less time and money as much as I can. Just finish what you can free and as fast as you can. I’m trying for 1 to 2 hours max each weekend event. Leaderboards don’t matter to me.

    I megaloathed the rock-n-reigns showdown.

    • CSS.

Any weekend you need the weekend card and one of the rarest characters in the game(Nation Rock) to hit the last non-bonus milestone of the css contest is absolutely brutal. People I knew with both of those characters were struggling to hit the bonus milestones without buying more energy which is just craptastic. I had all the other css but many many others didn't. Again, just a brutal css contest.

    • Weekend Character

The direction of every single aspect of the weekend needing the new character is so frustrating. 2 Bonus Tours, CSS, Solo event early recruit bonus, Premium showdown . I understand the need for bonuses for those that go out of their way to obtain new guy early but there should be some things where you're not instantly crippled if you don't have it.

    • Prizewall

Pricing on getting anything good off the prizewall keeps getting more and more insane. There's absolutely no reason for me to spend on events like this because of the astronomical cost of entry.

    • Faction Event

I do appreciate scopes putting some actual thought into ways to score faction points outside of the extremely lazy "level a 6 star" mess they did months. However, I just think they're bad thoughts. The breaking blue gems scoring method put individual interests against faction interests which I always think is a bad design.

    • Limited Time Tours

They were okay. Some were extremely difficult if you didn't have the premium character but seemed doable for most.

    • Legend points issue

The 50,000 points for the screw up was nice, but with the way energy works and the typical bad communication about what was going to happen, people couldn't make educated decisions about how to expend their energy for hours. 25% of the base energy had to be used or wasted by the time the message went out.

    • Showdown

Current state of showdown - it sucks. It's not fun. Energy was ok when it first came out but as expected the managing of it has gotten worse and worse. Mainly, because of these new doing damage with certain characters or breaking a certain gem(adding it to the faction event made it much worse). Those would have been great prior to the energy system, but pretty much stink now. It also happens way too often. So much showdown. It's constant like water torture. Every dang week there's some kind of showdown. These stretches like now where we have 3 different showdowns in a one week period are absolutely freaking insane and miserable.

    • Overall

    Rate 1.5/10

Bad design & bad execution mixed with sloppy errors made this a not fun and not interesting event. I completely despised it. Least favorite SD event in recent memory.

  • I really liked the new Roman, he is a fighter that I would like to have in my squad since his movements are very good, I enjoyed the confrontation although I would have liked to have had more possibilities of obtaining that Roman

  • Showdown Showcase conditions with any powerhouse and any acrobat was good only thing I didn't like was Rocker Shawn and The Rock Nation leader was too rare that most didn't have. BUT giving missing points when legend era wasn't working was great.

Limited time tours was fair except for SUNDAY tour I had to buy 123 kid to get the the solo points so that I can get all the free milestones in solo contest. But at least selling one of the characters to get a chance at the bonus rewards in the tour was good.

Prizewall was good putting obtainable plates in the prizewall was much needed I hope there more in the future. Overall I had a good showdown, new plate and new 123kid on my roster. Rock'N'Roman is a great character.

  • I like the 80s theme of this MLC, it is good to see now legends era posters but it was too bad they are no new faces in the game this MLC, there are many superstars we like to see in the game not the same ones with many versions, finally I wanna thanks you scopely crew for the new moves for the old forget poster now it fun to play with them again (Natalya,Andre & Cena)

  • The retro design of these new weekend superstars is absolutely amazing! Thats the most positive feedback i can give for this monthlong trip "Back to the Future"..

Tour wise,i have no complaints..could have chosen a little more accessible superstar pool of new gens, but i digress.

My biggest grievance is the inconsistencies of Showdown mode. All of the interchangeable objectives are great additions- including the new faction quests within. I personally love this! Keep faction quests in future Showdowns, and keep them uncapped. Speaking of uncapped...Showdown has been gradually getting worse and worse with all the different incarnations its been getting EVERY week. I am not a fan of the "Energy" dynamic. Showdowns should be able to be won on grinding as much as you want, not having to purchase "Energy".

I also think there should be a way to obtain these Superstars to use for these "premium" Showdowns without purchasing copious amounts of loot coins. Maybe have a grind tour with a chance to win a 1,or 2 star superstar for this specific contest.. just an idea.

Overall this event was a C-, its saving grace to keep it above a fail is the retro rock theme of this card, and the originality of the artwork- ACKNOWLEDGE YOUR TRIBAL MULLET.

  • Tours:

I did not have any problems with the tours and like that there are tours on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I would rather do tours each day than to put something else in its place on Sundays.

    Showdown:

I wish that Showdown would be only for the weekend and something else in its place throughout the week as I don't mind Showdown but playing it 4 to 5 times throughout the month gets boring after a while. I again state that you need to get rid of the energy system and if a person wants to grind Showdown it should be their choice instead of limiting a person due to lack of energy. Hoping that a new mode can be made to do during the week instead of Showdown and make Showdown a weekend event again.

Weekend showdown events need an overhaul. The energy system is cool - but in order to reach the milestone needed to get the last gold chest (supposedly free) you would need to buy tons of energy and grind for 36 hours. Just saying that the weekend events should have consistency - every other weekend event there is little to no issue getting that last gold chest except showdown weekends. Some additional points should be able to be earned or up the bonus points from 250 to 5000 - when you need to get 100,000 points and extra 500 a match doesn't do much. Showdown is fun and I like the concept of having to use specific classes but the point system seems flawed.

Once again to get the last “free” milestone it’s locked behind rare and paywalled CSS with no option to grind to make up for not having the rare CSS.

Glad to see some old plates put in the prize wall that were not outrageously prized.

  • I Love Rock ’N’ Reigns Showdown Contest

Overall, I don’t have an issue with the overall theme for the month, it is something a little different while delivering multiple new cards for everyone to chase/collect. As for this week’s Rock’N’ Reigns showdown event, thought the contest as a whole was strong while delivering opportunities for everyone to earn, win and build up inventory. However, there was some minor flaws as well that every contest will have which is understandable as well. Here is my feedback for the event:

    Premium Showdown Showcase

Love the concept of having a specific showdown featuring the dedicated release character, however, it is limited to only big spenders or people that are lucky enough to land them spending. Which is fine and allows Scopely to make money. The rewards are also strong for this allowing you to land medallions to get overall better rewards from the prize wall. My suggestion, however, is to allow an opportunity to individuals to purchase a 24 hour trial or 48 hour trial for the character. While it will still open up for people to chase him, it will give others who can spend hundreds a chance to compete for these rewards to keep up with the big time spenders especially for kids who can’t spend. This includes the 6SS silver tokens which continue to separate the big time spenders and lower spenders/F2P players.

If you rent him for the day at $5 or $10 it will entice more to spend just for that and in some cases, people will spend for this in addition to purchasing other packs to try to unlock them.

    Regular Showdown Showcase

Weekly Showdowns are one of my favorite aspect of the game and that continues with this weeks Rock ‘N’ Reigns showdown. One aspect I really liked for this one was the fact for the faction contest you had the opportunity to continue earning rewards for every blue that was broken. Feel like every contest should have this element whether it is you just completing a match that you previously completed. The contest side also offered a solid number of opportunities to collect points. Only negative was felt like both Steiners, Legends, and Rhodes rewards for damage should have been higher 90,000 total each. I also noticed some glitches and freezes that resulted me losing matches, and spending health to recover wrestlers to move on

    Solo Contest/Faction Contest

The contests were solid both solo and faction while also having a strong tour to compete in to earn medallions for the prize wall. Only issue I had with the solo contest was some of the upper level contests in hell delivered mediocre prizes compared to the same level of prizes received in normal. With Hell being tougher, the rewards should increase to compensate for this. One suggest for hell mode is to focus more on the 6ss rewards while also maybe sprinkling in a skill plate each contest to allow a wider range of players to obtain.

From the faction contest side, felt that it was great this time while allowing factions to have a way in match to earn to contribute to their team goal with the destroying of blue gems that was infinite and not set to a specific number. Would like to see the same with health moving forward for the faction contests as well.

Prize Wall Medallions, Loot and Prize Wall Rewards

There was many good things out of the prize wall medallions and rewards including the opportunity to land loot coins to land shards and new wrestlers. In addition to landing loot which was great, I also liked the wide range of prizes on the wall including the various skill plates. This includes a lower priced skill plate starting at 1,000 medallions. Feel like each contest should offer this which would not impact the overall play of the game while increasing the talent level of the lower tier players and factions. On a negative side the lower cost prizes were lackluster with the way the game is moving. The straps odds continue to remain low to land a higher percentage gem damage/move damage while not being guaranteed. The 6s bronze token chests can remain however, feel like 6s silver token chests should be included.

All in all a strong contest, continue to upgrade and improve rewards for all will continue to improve the overall play of the game. One last suggestion or these new releases, I feel like in the past I have spent more after being able to use a guy through the trial. If trial events even if it is 24 hour from Thursday to Friday, might build more hype up and allow more to spend for you.

This weekend's event was a showdown that introduced a new roman poster. Before this weekend event we had a mid-week showdown. Funny enough we are heading into another mid-week showdown. Amazing.

This weekend was not fun at the least. Constant showdowns are just boring. I have read numerous reviews and post on this forum, from other champ's members stating the same (about Sd) and yet it just keeps getting pushed on us. It's strange.

The real kicker is you have taken the titan plate off of the skill plate store for months now and it gets placed on this prize wall, but you needed most of the CSS to get 5000 tokens to buy it or you need to spend.

In order to hit the gold milestone in the solo event to get the Roman VHS tape you needed all the CSS for the tours, maximize SD, or you were required to spend on an old poster like 1-2-3 kid. Pretty lame. 1-2-3 kid is so behind the meta he should have been free.

Missing out on 1 VHS tape for me just ruins the whole MLC. At this point there is no other reason to push the time capsule contest, since I will be at least 1 milestone behind.

It's amazing, allot of us provide feedback and I wonder, do these actually get read? Go back and look at every feedback post for Showdown events. Probably 15-20% of the post ask why there is so many. In your upcoming AMA post, it is filled with members asking about the constant Showdowns. What gives?

  • Wow a decent event! I'm going to give it a B. I thought the Characters for the tour was great, also for the showdown. I really would only change to things.

    1) Considering how many people play this game, it is really quite a feat to be in the top 500 of a showdown event. You should greatly improve the rewards for those who place 1000 and above in this event because the showdown is what you do on the event! Don't send major rewards only to the top 10 or those who win the solo event, focus on the actual highlighted event whether it's showdown, boss or feud.

    2) Not nearly enough prizewall currency given. I got all the f2p milestones plus 3 bonus, was top 400 in showdown, completed all the tours with the bonus wrestler, and only for 4k prizewall.... That is really weak. You guys can be more giving😎

The biggest issue i'm finding with showdown lately is that it is becoming very, very hard to even hit the "free" milestone in the solo contest. In the other contests, some leeway is given if you don't have rare superstars that you can still achieve the milestone. If you don't have the showdown coin promoters, you are now falling short of that. Even with the small two hundred fifty point bonuses for legend superstars, which were this weekend. I could not get the maximum points from this bonus because then i would not have been able to destroy blue gems for the faction points. The only way to get those showdown coin promoters is to spend to get the king of king's pass. Even then, we would have to be spending for quite a long time to get all the coins for everybody.

I was also very happy to see that there is a shift away from just leveling up superstars every single weekend for faction points in these events. The destroying blue jams that's past weekend is a much better way to go.

I thought the prize wall around this time was really good. Shards of characters who have been out lately in some rare ones which was nice.

The tours and tour requirements we're all right this time for me at least.

Earning points in the showdown by using specific superstars or have a damage with specific superstars as well. As destroying certain types of gems also does. Add a challenge which is better than just the run of the mill showdown.

I Loved The Event The Prize Wall was Great and The Showdown was Great and The Tours was Great and The Faction Contest was Great and The Solo Contest was Great

  • For me being a kid I love all the contests it allows me to build and grow my roster. For this contest it would have been great to be able to use the new Roman Reigns for the premier showdown as a trial to help out.

I don’t play the game all the time, I thought the rewards were great including the lower cost skill plates. I wish the showdowns had no restrictions. I did see some lag in my showdown matches that caused me to stop playing.

tour prizes were good as well allowing me to upgrade my roster.
