DOUBLE THE TROUBLE

  • The Boss Battle event had both positive and negative aspects. Each milestone had a good amount of rewards, final gold chest milestone wasn't too easy to get to. As long as you had a good faction to help the overall Boss Battle was fine. The biggest issues were some characters damage was not calculating properly. That caused frustration within factions and groups trying to complete the milestones. This one I felt had less shards of the new character then the last Boss Battle character. I'd say overall it was a good event with nice rewards and I enjoyed it.

First off, the design for The Usos was... unexpected. It seems like something that's more in line with Mutant characters but I guess it can work as a Zombie too. Their moveset being heavily reliant on combo moves means players have to learn a lot more about the effects of each move. I'm torn on whether this added complexity is a good thing, as it's more things people need to watch out for in feuds when fighting certain characters, like The Usos being able to counter Power Gems and steal your turn.

Tours were fine for the most part. I didn't have CSS characters for Sunday but not a big deal I guess.

The boss battle - I didn't know about the PH Sami thing people were mentioning, but I didn't have him anyway. Reports from other people are mentioning that for some they were doing so much damage with him it actually overflowed the damage and healed the boss. This isn't the first time this has happened either, this happened in a previous feud to people who had 6SS HOF X-Pacs with both gears. If boss battles are going to require so much damage to clear, maybe make sure the calculations are in place to actually accept the proper amounts of damage? This shouldn't have happened a second time, and it really shouldn't happen a third time. Fix this. Anyway, it seemed like big damage dealers were kinda rare otherwise, most of the damage I saw in my faction was being done by LA Knight and HOF Kurt Angle. I'm really not a fan of this mode but there's not much I can do about that.

The prizewall - as usual it's catered more towards people that spend lots of money on the event, no surprise there. I'm amazed I received exactly enough to buy a 6SS/6SB/5SE token pack.

I will say overall the event went pretty well for me as I was able to reach the Wanted poster, when I was unable to get it in weeks 2, 3, and 4. So I do think it was fairer in that regard compared to some of the previous weeks.

    Positive:

Overall it went pretty smooth. The amount of freezes seemed to be less than previous BB.

It’s Nice that promotors count towards your scores, this really is a positive change.

Event seemed pretty grindable, even without all the CSS.

    Negative:

The speed is a real issue for me. If you have KoK sub. Going from 2x speed to 1x speed is a pain tbh.

Boss breakers that don’t work, or don’t do what they supposed to do is pretty demoralizing, especially when it took so long to get to level 10.

The difference in speed in animation times make certain superstars pretty unplayable. This also counts for choose moves at the end of the turn, which makes you basically lose the move entirely.

well that was it for me. Good luck.

If this is double the trouble, I'd hate to see three times as much.

    • Might as well start with boss itself - it felt very spongy unless you had a select few characters (SB Gable, PH Zayn, and probably one or two people I'm forgetting about), and of course everyone else was playing supporting cast to two different shield types and a freeze move. I saw a lot of matches where I was the last one standing, and I just had to sit there for 15 minutes while the boss whittled me down because god forbid I leave a match that I have no chance of winning when I'm the only guy left lest I get that 5 minute ban. Thankfully the superstar contest wasn't too bad, because I just did those and didn't bother for the most part. Not BS by by any means, but just dull.
    • Special bullet point for this - you guys finally fixed level selection not being a buggy mess! Hooray! Making lobbies is bearable now! I mean this half genuinely because this was a much-needed fix, and half sarcastically because it took months to get fixed.
    • Tours were better than I thought. I was going to get up in arms about Solo/Otis for the Friday tour, but turns out Otis on hell was... surprisingly doable. As such, nothing really else to add.
    • This prize wall was absolutely anemic - I got enough shards for a grand total of 50 shards for one character and a few strap parts. In a month where we've had some really good prize walls (especially in the midweek contests, which had some of the best all year), a bad prize wall just sticks out all the more.
