Money in the Ben-k FREE Claim Issue

Champions,
Due to some difficulties with the daily FREE Claim at wwechampions.com, we decided to take it down as we investigate the issue further. For any that missed it before it was removed, the 20,000 Money in the Big Ben-k Solo Points contained in the Free Claim are attached to the Inbox Message in-game for all to claim.
We are taking the time to assess everything affected by the issue fully and will continue to provide updates accordingly. Rest assured Contest scores will be corrected to preserve Leaderboard fairness.
We will continue to look into Rewards, such as Shards and Posters, that affected Players could claim and will restore them accordingly with corresponding consequences.
For any that missed it before it was removed, the 20,000 Money in the Big Ben-k Solo Points contained in the Free Claim are attached to this message for all to claim.
Thanks for your patience.

This announcement suggests to me that a rollback of all rewards seems like the preferred solution here, but I have a number of concerns.
- Can all players who benefitted be accurately tracked? The mods initial comments on the Piper event were that it might all just be photoshopped and there is no actual proof. This doesn't fill me with confidence that everything claimed from the portal is easily tracked. Yes, those who scored an obscene amount of points can be quickly identified, but what about those who didn't climb as high on the leaderboard?
- Will all ladders and purchased prizewall items be removed correctly? We have seen rollbacks in the past where items weren't removed for all players, some players only lose part of what they gained, and some others had too much removed.
- What about players who still have points sitting in their mailbox ready to claim later?
- How much time and effort needs to be spent on a manual rollback? I think it's fair to say that players would prefer this time spent on improving the game and preventing these issues in the future.
Given the issues with a rollback and the similarity to the portal issues for the Piper event (this one actually looks far more egregious), I think the best solution might be to fully roll back the obscene cases of exploitation and offer compensation like the recent Piper prize wall.
I think most would agree that the Cody poster should probably be set aside here (I don't mind taking it if offered!) but giving players enough medallions for/the choice between the plate, moment, and any set of shard packs seems quite reasonable I think.
Personally, I dislike being handed freebies and want to play the game to earn my rewards, but on the other hand, I can't justify spending on the game when other players are exploiting it to get the same rewards I'm supposed to pay for. The last resolution actually incentivized people to spend last weekend, so I would urge the devs to 'take the hit' again and do right by the players.

It's exhausting to see this happen so frequently, and honestly, I don't have the time in my real life to play the game *and* track the mistakes, how they impact me/us, assess the damage, police Scopely's response, etc. The fundamental lack of quality control creates a perpetually adversarial relationship here, which I don't imagine players or the game runners are happy about.
I am hopeful the company's response to Piper-gate marked a new standard for compensation - reasonable, quality compensation takes the sting away and reassures me as a player that you've protected me from feeling cheated. The funny thing is, with just about any other business - dining, retail, travel - this would be a given.

I agree with everything mentioned above. In particular though, it has to be acknowledged that certain players are now months ahead of the game. Full 6ss cards ready to go, free cards. This is not their fault, at all.
What about the rest of us? Compensation, to even keep up with these exploits, has to keep pace. You can't leave the rest of us in the dark, holding the bag to complete a contest with this level of exploit. Rolling back points doesn't matter. They took the whole wall and their factions will benefit enormously in all contests now.
The only actual fair method at this point would be to make the entire wall free for everyone and for you all to fix the portal issues once and for all. A plate or a card doesn't cut it this time. People are paying for points to compete in a contest that is already done.

To me the biggest concern is the fact we can see multiple 6SS posters since people could claim tons of 6SS tokens, and that right now is a much bigger advantage than a Cody poster or any other shard recruit, gear or moment. That's what should be rolled back and not posters or shards as stated in the announcement. Facing someone with a Cody or Dom is less of a problem than having to deal with a 6SS poster when someone was handled the tools by mistake. So you either roll back the tokens or give everyone a choice of what they want, since the Piper compensation has set a new standard to what people expect. And to be honest this is much worse since it gives a much bigger advantage to players than it was with Piper, we're talking of multiple 6SS (not being HoF or IoW) that wouldn't be possible to obtain this quickly and for free.

It is more than tiresome to see these exploits happening more frequently than ever before. If anything, the trend should be to foresee issues and prevent situations like this from happening.
I agree that there are exploiters and their factions who are well ahead of the curve going into the 6ss meta. This cannot go without an appropriate response. I do not know how many errors can occur before the lopsidedness cannot be corrected.
Compensation for the community at large should be a given, and it is true that the Piper event has now set a minimum standard of how it should be done going forward. The operative phrase is minimum standard in this case. Compensation should start there and scale according to the level of the exploit. The community chooses to spend its discretionary income, and personally, I do not see why we should continue to do so if there are not drastic measures taken to ensure this type of situation will not happen with frequency.

First off I agree with everything said up above. Rather than repeat the many valid points that have already been mentioned I will just say that if this was an isolated incident it would be much easier for everyone to excuse it and let it go. However this is now the second major incident, and probably bigger in magnitude than the Piper event fiasco, in the last two weeks. A roll back does not work because the points are never correctly removed and creates a further imbalance since the resources bought are left even in a roll back. The compensation from the Piper event was fair and felt like it put everyone on an equal playing field. I believe that similar compensation should be offered this time.

Why is it that it seems like now more than ever we are here talking about expoits and what should be done as compensation? The mistakes that are made by the company are made out as player faults and not company mistakes. At first it was in the interest of fairness and there were some meh compensation sent out. Now we're talking about some people having a major advantage. We're not talking about a couple of levels in a mlc or new character, we're talking major advantages. At some point can the multi billion dollar company just fix what's been broken for years. This latest mistake...come on scopely get it together

I agree with everything that's been commented so far, and what's sad here is I can pretty much use what I just said 11 days ago word for word on the Piper event (which I will include below), and that in less than 2 weeks the exact same scenario occurs.
This time the excuse of "It was the weekend and no one was working so we couldn't see it" can't be used which isn't and shouldn't be an excuse to begin with considering that 99.99999999999999% of all events happen on, you guessed it, the weekend.
Is it too much to ask for us to have working, bug free events go live? Is it too much to ask that a subset of players shouldn't be able to get an entire prize wall for free that the rest of us have to scratch and claw and grind and spend money for?

It's often said that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result, and in this case it's hoping that we get events that launch without bugs and issues.
I don't blame the players for taking advantage of the exploit as it is 100% Scopley's error.
However, being able to buy out the entire prize wall and getting a free 6S character, the plates, straps and other prize wall items vs. the pittance of a compensation is insulting to everyone who couldn't take the same advantage other players did.
Not only that, but you're also giving those same people a weekend off of an event while the rest of us have to play all weekend to get a fraction of what they got for free.

I commended Scopely for their handling of the Piper event disaster as they attempted to level the field to some extent amongst the players. I said it was a fair compensation and it was. More importantly I closed my comment by stating that we'd all prefer them to "fix it so it doesn't happen again". Yet, less then 2 weeks later here we are again. I know things don't get fixed immediately and things take time, but I hope the "leveling of the field" this time is as good. However, again, we'd all prefer working events without exploits so we aren't left banging this drum over and over. Fix it, please.

Hey JD. I just want to say that it's hard to dispute a claim when IGS is just closing the tickets with a canned response. There's quite a bit of people who are reporting doing nothing wrong myself included and to have IGS basically slam the door in our face when we know something else is wrong and there's a chance I won't receive the compensation package because reasons is disheartening at best. I just wish there was much more transparency and clearer communication.

Is this issue the reason on Sunday a random Cody poster popped up on my roster which has since been removed I might add yet my Nikki Cross has disappeared? Sorry if i sound like a lunatic but I've got no clue what's happened or what the issue is. Anyone got any clarification would be great as tickets sent in just get shut down with an automated response. In the dark here so some enlightenment would be nice as to what's actually happened. Seems a lot of people are being punished for something they haven't even done??
