Ok so you guys gave us 400k points for free which is great and hugely appreciated, but that's still not enough to get all the "free" milestones in the solo contest.
Because it's basically impossible to get to the second to the last milestone in the F/F SD for an f2p player. There is not enough energy available to play and get to that milestone.
I still need to play over 200 matches to get to that second to last milestone and get the 200k points and i would play them if i had the energy.
So you guys should come up with a solution to still keep Funk accessible for the f2p guys.
You should either put the 200k extra points in tomorrow's tour, or put 200 energy in the tour, or maybe remove the energy requirement completely. However, you can give us the 200k points for free too if you don't intend to change the tour or rewards.
But please do something soon to keep it f2p still.

Don't worry man if you can get to the second to last milestone in SD then you will get all the "free" milestones in solo contest, unlike others including me who can't even get to that milestone because of the rare css and less energy availability.

Just adding my name to the long list of disgruntled players who feels like they've been misled here.
I am my no means a top spender, but I am also way above the average and I, like many other, can't get Funk without opening the wallet.
Not doing it.
As was mentioned above, the Rocky event was really well done, but every else since has fallen way short of our expectation.

I guess this clears up my confusion a bit and taught me not to go for assumptions with this game.
The way I understood the wording of that initial RIP post for Bray Wyatt was that we will get Terry Funk for free if we engaged in the contest. Read: Take part, get him guaranteed. Apparently that was not the way to go. In my case, not such a big hit as I am not familiar with him, but a freebie is always nice to have.
What I was hoping for though was that back when they did the votes for the favourite SS to have over the summer, which Liv Morgan won in a landslide on the female side, my assumption was (and boy, how wrong I was) that they might present us with the four winners - two male, two female - and we could pick one of them, no questions asked. Obviously I would have gone for LM as I am chasing her forever now to finally get a good blue female. (And I like her as "E's biggest Sweetheart" that she is.) What we got though is Cowboy Bob Orton or whatever his name was. Ahm, yes, good for introduction to the new features I guess, but not so much if you are not playing a red opponent.
Anyway, thanks for letting me vent. At least with my purchases I got some other SS, although not those I was looking for.

Yeah there were 600k points that you guys added more to female showdown in last 2 milestones but not many people have those css which are required to achieve those milestones and you guys did give us 400k points in messages but we all are still 200k points short from last FREE milestone and as there were 600k points overall so you guys should give us those remaining 200k points as promised cuz you guys did say that you guys are fan first and everyone will get Terry in free milestone and putting points on rare css is not called FREE.

unfortunately I will probably not get the last MS this month and thus the monthly star! participated in all events, maxed out every coin and TP event and still I'm missing almost 60k points! without the cash stars you don't get the sidenotes and these points are extremely missing! it has become extremely difficult this month and if it continues like this then many of the fun will surely soon be over! At the moment it is incredibly difficult to raise the necessary money for this due to inflation in Europe! too bad it used to be possible to max out the solo event just by playing but this month, no chance

If my math is correct I need to do 1052 more SD matches to get Funk. This is not counting any points for tours that drop today, but that certainly seems like a reasonable "engagement" number.
Again, if you are going to be that many points available in the tour(s) today, why not have that posted in the blog so the players can plan accordingly? Why not communicate to the community? Do you see how open communication would benefit the game, the mods, the players? It's not that hard.

Nice idea to showcase the new characters and the improvements to the existing ones.
A heartfelt tribute to two very influential wrestlers who have just died.
Lots of chance for individual and faction participation, this really kept us busy.
A lucky few managed to pull Terry Funk from the bags.

The lack of MLC points this week and last has left many of us unsure whether we will max the contest.
The contest superstars needed for showdown and the extra points on the pt2 solo contest were either brand new or recent top rewards from pulls or MLCs.
After saying that the whole community would have a chance to obtain Terry Funk if we participated many are falling short of the milestone(s) to recruit him from shards.
I myself need both 165 Sd wins and to beat Logan Paul on hell mode with my 5sg Walter after beating all nodes of Hell mode on the previous tours (I even took Nikki to 6sb)
This felt like a pay event to achieve the last milestone wether it be during the event or for people who had previously spent well.

Funk was not free. I got all tour bonuses except the 100k bonuses you got for using players in hard mode that were ALL paid players. Got all available sd points in the 1st sd. And due to lack of energy, and other PAID players I was short 131 sd wins in the 2nd sd. With 2 per hour regen it was impossible. Still had to spend to get him. Such B.S.

Honesty + transparency = trust.
You've done the exact opposite here. If you intended Funk to be paywalled the entire time, just say so. Don't say free to those that engage in an event, then hide the needed points behind previous players that were pay to get. That's not free. That's misleading and dishonest.

I agree with everyone above. I had a few of the css and I still had to pay $25 to obtain Funk. I’m happy I got him but scopely did Funk a disservice by saying he would be obtainable for free and then pull the rug out from us

This event could have been something special a way to honor the legacy of Terry Funk but once again it was ruined. I get it you are a company that needs to make money but this 1 time you couldn't have not pay walled him and made a lot of your players happy? I'm not saying just out right give him to players but don't put him so far into milestones players can't get there without having premium champions. Now Scopely you have a mess on your hands. Don't believe me go look at social media where you're getting bashed by F2P and spenders. You put out a message saying everyone would get Funk just for engaging in the contest. Those were YOUR words. You could have put any star rarity at low milestones to back up your word that anyone who engages will get him. This is just like Ali all over again it's no different where you grind your butt off for days but still fall short just because you don't have some of the rarest champs for Showdown. Bray died and you gave out The Fiend to everyone and no disrespect to Brey because I loved him in WWE and he will truly be missed but his poster in game is outdated and doesn't really help anyone's roster or most already had him. If Brey hadn't died but Terry did would you have sent out a Terry Funk poster to everyone? Doubtful because he's new and needed to be placed behind another pay wall. Do the right thing Scopely you promised as long as players engaged in the contest they'd get him. Even if it's a 2 star it would still be honoring your words and like I said for future reference please word messages sent out differently.

I was unable to reach tier 15 in the milestones. This was the tier required to get enough Shards to get Terry Funk. I am NOT the only one from what I have seen, as many of the point were locked behind rare characters. This feels like a calculated attempt to make it seem like the majority of the player base "can" get Terry Funk, but likely will be one tier short, resulting in 1600 Shards out of the required 2000.
I COULD be incorrect, but the fact that I have seen so many have the same issue of reach the final tier leads me to think otherwise. Considering that this method of obtaining Funk was done in respect for his passing, it seems disgusting to me that so many conveniently hit the last required tier. Also convenient is the fact that the PURCHASE of loot tokens can provide points themselves, AND RARELY provide the rare superstars needed for events. It seems like it was design to entice the purchase of these coins, deliberately tapping into the FOMO that comes from getting "so close".
If I see this pattern myself, I can guarantee that others can too. It seems real scummy tbh.

Just wanted to say I'm disappointed. Scopely claimed Terry Funk was supposed to be attainable. The company itself mentioned it was gonna be obtainable just by playing after his passing. The reality wasn't that.
A lot of folks from my faction couldn't get it just by playing. I was able to get it only after spending 20 bucks to get the points for it. I made the investment because no idea when Funk was gonna be available to get later.
I truly thought this was gonna be another Mohammed Ali situation, but wasn't the case. Really sad and frustrated about that. I have no issue with Scopely making Indi Hartwell loot only. You have a business to run. But we were promised Funk just by playing, and that wasn't the case.

In regards to the Free Funk, although I was able to reach the milestones and get him, many others in my faction could not. To say he would be attainable if you engage in the contest gave our lower faction members false hope. The truth was that they never stood a chance to receive him, that is cruel and misleading. I believe you shouldn’t have written that direct message to everyone. Very cruel please do better.

You hit the nail completely on the head: the Fiend is well out of date, whereas Terry Funk is literally brand new. Their own wording be damned, they cannot fathom honoring what they put in writing. "Accessable for ALL players to unlock by ENGAGING in the contest." Not "Winning" the contest. Not "only our favorite whales, who have already spent thousands of dollars for literally 0 return." ALL PLAYERS. I myself have dumped millions of in-game resources, on absolute garbage cards, all in the ATTEMPT to gain Terry, when he should have been given at reward milestone ONE. This event is hot garbage, and the fact that there has been literal radio silence from the company about their blunder is infuriating. My faction has climbed into the top 30s in events - now I know why. We aren't getting better, people are tired and walking away from this tire-fire of a game.

free for those who spend their time buying because they were going well until the showdown they did there they ruined everything and one who thought he could reach terry for free spent resources in vain like me and thanks to you I am without talent for the month of September

I was very disappointed to see funk paywalled when he was promised to us if we were engaged in contest. I dominated in showdowns, beat all the tours with contest superstar, and still could not get him, you guys lied :(

That's great and all you'll be passing it along to the team but what are they going to do about it? Saying if someone "engaes" in the contest and all players do just that and "engage" (scroll up to my post the definition of engage from the dictionary) and still don't get them. Scopely should send all players a Funk even if it's only a 3 star it would be honoring what they said and then in future messages don't use words like engage, participate, or any other words that say just play the game these rewards are yours. They should use sentences like with special requirements this reward can be yours. That way we know it's not just participate. That it's more to it than just turn on the game and play the special event and get the reward.
