Bleeds in Boss Battles

Would anyone be able to fill me in on how bleed moves work in regards to boss battles? Ie, does the bleed damage happen basically all at once and resolve, kinda like sub moves? Or do all the bleed moves used stack together and activate during the bosses turn? Thanks!
