even if everything is subject to change till it is live judging by blog this boss battle is going to be the worst one we had till now and one of the wost events in general ... boss battle is a great/fun gamemode where you can both grind or take advantage of the card earned by spending...now seems like last milestone is up by 7.5m points where cant cover unless we have some of the most rare cards in game ... what a way to ruin one of the last good parts of the game ... hope it change before it goes live

  • Very nice game, we need new faces in the game or new models/classes of some existing superstars

Only thing I'd like to see is maybe a way to group all the icons of WM superstars in one area of the store

  • very good game but i think it still can be improved. I appreciate the team for every variation and innovation on tour or other limited time events.

the thing to fix i guess is in the

    1) I can't combine shard and tp to level up move anymore

    2) the energy refresh for rumble trivia is not filled on time. sometimes it takes longer than 8 hours.

    3) ads to earn cash please also appear on browser-based users

    4) please provide innovation in faction mode because feuds and boss battles are getting boring

    5) Please categorize the contents in the shop menu into several sections because it took me quite a long time to scroll through them. and give the icon to jump to a certain part there

thank you, I hope this game gets better

Why is the Faction Contest ending 6 hours before the Boss Battle and almost a full day before the solo contest?

  • Robison

The required characters for the points made this an easy decision for many players to skip the majority of the event. I am always up for a grind event for players. However, given the amount of required wins to be able to max if you did not have Kross, Knoxville, Veer, Bret, and Ricochet were astronomical.

Just an overall ugly, ugly end to one year and the start of another.

I mean, heading into this, I know how boss battles typically work. It's rough on a lot of players. It's a bunch of RNG luck and/or spending, more so than other weekends. It kinda is what it is.

Right out of the gate, changing the max for the scoring competition was a weird move. At first I thought maybe it would be set up in a way where maybe you get some extra goodies for having some of the (mostly) insanely paywalled characters. But then the event starts, you get to look at numbers, and to have nearly two MILLION points is the final milestone is brutal.

I didn't really think much of it at first, I just do what I do. Typically, I'm a big piece on my team when it comes to working towards getting our skulls done. That's always my main focus before anything else. Was a bit of a messy weekend with the holiday and the kind of tight requirements on who was good, but we get there. We all get together, do our css. Obviously, I have no idea how many 20s I did just to get the team maxed, but it was a lot. After my CSS? (For reference, no Kross, no JK, no Ezekiel) Needed about 260 (I think) MORE matches.

But of course, I'm stubborn and I like a challenge. I like to try and give informed feedback from someone who is a proven GRINDER and PLAYER compared to people that have the means to just swipe their cards. And this isn't a knock of them, by all means get it how you living, I just play different.

So I'm grinding, I'm grinding, sleep, grind, grind. Eventually we get to afternoon reset, I whip through tours and all that. I realize that while I'm due to get 400k points from my team being in third, if I bust my tail and max the event outright, the huge chunk of solo points will get me to the solo milestone to get Ezekiel. So I get there with about half an hour to spare, I get my points from that, cool.

So in the end, after missing 2 of the biggest CSS, skulls go out, I'm currently sitting in a not completely terrible 55th. But like I mentioned, I'm stubborn.

This is keeping in mind that I'm aware I finished on a third place team. If I had Knoxville? 21st. If I had Kross? 15th. If I had all the cool toys? 3rd. Total ideal situation, you give me all the toys and put me on the first place team? I'm in 1st by 50k.

And I don't want to read like "oh woe is me" or I'm patting myself on the back, but this event is just a wild example of it doesn't really matter how good of a player and grinder you are, sometimes you will never outgrind spending. Sure 55th is solid, but the difference between 55th and 3rd is me getting solo points to max the contest. To get the card. Which is objectively hilarious because in order to do that.......I need the card.

This whole structure just makes it that literally anyone who gets the weekend card just makes it harder for other people to get it. It makes no sense to me. Sure I did the grind like I do, it's just kind of the post-event clarity where you realize the game is tailored for people that aren't you. For people that play the fricking game.

On some bright spots, I will say I noticed and appreciate how you were more liberal with the shards for the weekend card. Whether the small handful of shards people will still need will be available, time will tell. In general the tour reqs and all that weren't too bad. That kind of stuff is business as usual.

But everything else is just like a shell of its former self. You can't grind for anything. Every boss is just turn 1 or bust, making all the breakers we've worked towards building essentially useless.

It's just super, super, super frustrating. This mode and the way it's organized and the reward structure just further and further ostracizes hard work and effort.

So probably a riveting weekend of probably playing more 20s than most anyone in the game and coming away with basically nothing of value. Just really neat stuff. Make some changes, I'm begging you.

Feedback for Karrion Kross Boss Battle

    Positives

    • New character introduced to the game is always good to see rather than repeat characters.
    • It's been a while since I enjoyed Boss Battle but I will say this one was considering I could use a freely available character (HTM) to help my faction with Boss Battles.
    • The solo tours were ok as it seemed doable with requiring CSS who were previously chase characters but I can imagine this being quite difficult for majority of the community.
    • 10 shards short of what was proclaimed in the blog as Free Shards for Karrion Kross and considering I didn't spend I can't complain there.

    Negatives

    • Still facing same old issues with Boss Battle especially with connection issues, glitches and lags but again nothing seems to change every time we do this so not sure how much point is there to continue addressing this.
    • I wasn't aware of the change in points as this was addressed earlier from other posts but if that's true then that's so disappointing.
    • The CSS required was only doable with the 3 superstars that gave out the least amount of points and the rest were sitting behind newly released superstars so there goes all the needed points to try and get far in the solo milestones.
    • As already mentioned in a post somewhere, please find some way to change the way boss breaker moves are being done as it's just not feasible to have to spend all the coins on every superstar depending on who the required ones are. I understand there's the co-op mode to this but again spending coins on characters who are only useful for one boss and useless for the rest of the year's boss battle just seems ridiculous.
    • Prizewall could have been better rather than only offering premium rewards.

Just another boss battle which this seemed fun to play but sucks that the milestones were changed and the CSS were made harder otherwise it would have been a fun Boss Battle for me compared to the previous one.

  • Karrion Kross boss battle and tours

Overall I enjoyed this event, it was the first time I've enjoyed an event in about 2 months. I really liked that I had 4 of the 8? bouns point characters. That made it more fun and interesting. When the rewards are there, (and I liked the rewards this weekend), and you have at least half the characters it makes it fun. A Much better experience then being on the outside looking in. 100x better then the Veer event.

The funny thing is I spent no money this weekend and had a better experience. Wasting vast amounts of money chasing new characters really hurts enjoyment more then it helps the game. Finding that balance of fun and moving forward with your roaster is fundamental. I feel, for me, this weekends events were closer to what I would call fun and I enjoyed my time given to this game. What made it fun, 1) boss was beatable) 2) rewards were really good, 3) for me the special characters bouns was the best I've ever had with 4 out of 8.

Like others have said, one turn or your whole team is dead boss battles are not fun. I also agree that this concept has made the boss breakers useless.

I dont like how the faction events require you to use emerald tokens for any major points. That is out of scale as emeralds are the new pinch point. Having to use them every weekend is too hard on resources.

The pulls are way too unbalanced. I don't even think the odds are accurate anymore. I think the loot boxes are rigged and certain characters have higher/lower odds then others not just a rare/super/mega brackets like it suggests. That's why I stopped spending. Theres no reasonable return for your money. The pulls in this game have always been bad but lately they are a whole new level of horrible. Players should avoid wasting money until they are more balanced.

Overall I enjoyed this weekend. Please keep making boss battles that are winnable with good rewards that are achievable and a balance of bouns characters.

As was said, the prize wall was not good. Not achievable, useless. Only causes frustration to look at that and know you will never get it. Not fun. Waste of time.

Why don't you make some of the bouns characters for sale for the event. Scopley gets money, players get characters and can actually play the game.

I didn't like how the points to max went up and the last 2 levels weren't grindable but I'm not too put off by this as I think this is more balanced as the rewards given were good. You can grind and get some really good stuff and if you want more you can spend. But remember spending is a waste of money, you can buy the illusion that you can buy more milestones. Or drop 3-4000. If your that stupid. Lottlo tickets are for sale at convenience stores and gas stations, you have better odds and returns for wasting your money on a lotto ticket then a mobile game.

I thought this event was a lot better than other events we've had lately. The bonus characters are a little better. The only change i would make is lowering the solo contest point milestones. I had almost all of the bonus points from the event and was only on the 6th point milestone.

    1) Tours - Requirements felt reasonable. The required characters were rare but there weren't too many event points locked behind them.

2A) Boss Fight -The trend of bosses that need to finished turn 1 is fine but getting tiresome.

    2B) Boss Faction -

The weird timeout issues need to be addressed. When there's extra punishment for server timeouts and connection issues, it is so very irritating. The 5 minute time outs in general don't make a lot of sense.

    2C) Boss Solo -

It was nice to have one regular event that could be maxed without spending. The fact you not only changed not the required score but also tied to extremely rare css(including the event superstar. I've never understood requiring the new superstar to help get the new superstar). Add to that fact you did over a major holiday weekend is just ugh.

    3) Rewards -

It seemed like there were more shards of Kross available in the actual event than normal which was nice.

Prizewall was blah and didn't encourage any extra effort/spending.

    4) Solo event- Seemed pretty standard. No major complaints there.

    5) Suggestions - Rethink this 17.5mil scoring thing. Also, if you're going to make annoying event changes that require more effort/time, please consider not doing it on holidays.

I'm kinda glad to read in other reviews that even top players are finding boss battle unfulfilling, frustrating, and paywalled up the ass. To clarify, I'm glad because it confirms I'm not the only one who loathes these weekends, and it shows that faction boss still has fundamental problems.

    • This week we doubled-down on the questionable objectives on the faction boss competition portion, both requiring super-rare characters for level 10 fights and more common characters acting as effective blank slots for a level 15 run. Hope your faction has a lot of people who pulled tech Brock, a character still stunningly rare considering he's over a year old, and this effectively means that you need all of those characters to do remotely well in the sole contest - including my favorite tactic, 'have the weekend character in order to get more shards for the weekend character'.
    • The boss itself was just as unfun as it's been the last few times around, somewhat salvaged by the fact that Striker HTM was a decent choice. Other than that, it was Mutant Andre, Tech Brock, or bust. And outside that, you have to heavily rely on boss breakers - which I've gone on record several times before that they're god damn useless unless nearly max-level, and doing so is unsustainable considering the people you use in faction boss change week by week, which means you have to keep constantly putting tokens into people. Which is yet another way boss battle progress is stymied.
    • Tours were pretty average, but I appreciate putting in two tours where you require all sorts of new people that I don't have. Also, basically all of one's contest progress if boss battle went belly-up for them.
    • I don't know what to say about boss battle I haven't said countless times - I still had multiple instances of glitches either delaying my entire boss battle for over a minute, several instances where the game decided to give up and soft lock, global matchmaking appears to be gone entirely (I heard from a factionmate that it never worked for them period) - Still undercooked, tuned for only the best rosters, and puts all the focus solely on your teammates as opposed to your own abilities due to the nature of everyone needing to be on top of things to succeed.

This weekend had up and downs as far the contest goes imo...

Lets break it down shall we...

    • Timing during NYE weekend.

Fresh off a weekend where Xmas fell on Sunday/Monday.. the Flash Fueds were pushed up a day earlier. so it would clear Sunday off so people around the world could celebrate Christmas...

And yet we start Faction Boss literally in the middle of New Year's Eve.... I would have started the entire thing a day earlier like last weekend. For Example. Im a European Player. And it started 11pm for me. which left me a hour till 2023 arrived for us... one hour....

A sincere number of factions like to chase the leaderboards... and this felt like a unfair competition to that as people over the world had to make hoops and jumps midst a festive moment to be there for their faction.... I would love to see that you guys would take more attention to this "Worldwide" and not just "US Time zone" Starting this a day earlier would be more grateful to the Worldwide community. Big Festive Things like Christmas and New Years Eve shouldn't be filled amidst a big event in my opinion.... This would sincerly be a great adeptive change to start off with....

    • Solo Contest

The Solo Contest was decent to good. The Rewards were decent to good, Similar structure to previous Boss Battles, Liking the available points in tours and faction boss! Don't change a thing to this way.

    • Faction Boss Contest

The Faction Boss Contest, however has gotten a upgrade... Where unfortunately for the major player base this wasn't a good one. The addition of doing so many CSS is fine... But half of them where very NEW, a ongoing Chase Character... and for a lot of people a miss in their roster....

The fact that Ezekiel was needed for this (and the tour) is mindblowing in week 5 of a 8 week event where the card recruit at 5star Gold. This felt way too early... Yes some of the heavy spenders will already have collected the card, and he might have been very useful against the boss... but the majority is still trying to collect shards and chase this card down... This was too early to use this... in week 7 of 8, i can relate/understand.. but this for so many points... Puts the majority already 1-0 behind... thats a lot of points ur instantly missing...

Another Required card was Veer, Who was Earlier this month released. IF you didnt manage to obtain him, your 2-0 behind... and the Tick Tock Loot, didnt had Veer in it... So there was legit no way to have a shot at recruiting this card no more this weekend. So there was no way to try and make up for the loss here... Which feels akward, that a required CSS, is not available in loot or anywhere....

This all, influences the outcome on the leaderboard (and thus the amount of solo points for placing on that leaderboard) too much in my opinion, also the fact the final milestone had 1.750.000 solo points in it aswel, which was unreachable for the majority of your player base... Felt just off...

I think this was a sincere miss.... Having a few CSS is okay, but let them be either obtainable in loot, or accessible in a way... Not being a chase character for a 2 month long event thats only in its 5th week, or having a recent few weeks old card, which is not in loot.

    • Faction Event

The Faction Event always ended earlier in a leaderboard race for more Karrion Kross shards.

This felt like a copy pasta from the last Faction Boss aswell. A lot of Talent Up lately is required for Faction Events... Which seems to be hard on some people to keep up with... But it is what is i guess...Maybe some Faction Points in one of the tours or Boss Event couldn't hurt?

    • Faction Boss (Fighting the boss itself)

In all fairness i cant give a real assessment from my perspective... I dont think there where any queuing issue's this time around, every once and a while people are shown as disconnected, but are still in the match, and scoring, and the match payed out in the end. As i was celebrating New Year's Eve, i quickly got run trough, and left again for what it was... as told above.. The timing was horrible for Europeans.

    • Limited Time Tours

The Tours, were good, Challenge matched where heavy requirements with previous 2 new cards from earlier weeks (Veer and Bianca) but the solo points where still obtainable anyways.

The Fact Ezekiel (elias) was needed again, like mentioned above felt way too early to be a requirement.

Further Tours were very good doable, decent CSS.

    • Web Event / Ruby Market

I rarely use the Ruby Market, so kinda can't give no real comment on that subject...

The Web Event for those who are willing to spend seem to pay out "oke", I personally feel the milestones are way out of my reach to worry about it... I can't afford to spend that much anyways to care too much about it :)

    • Loot

The loot itself felt legit one of the worser ones lately. a lot of old cards, also in the Featured section... And certain CSS cards where not even in it (Veer f.e.) But then again this is for those who like to spend/gamble on loot i guess. if your lucky you hit. if not, its a miss, and the loot is easily marked as bad right?

    • Overall

I think overall this was a very decent event, as i really enjoy Boss Battles! The timing with NYE weekend was unfortunate, the big amount of CSS in the Faction Boss Event felt a bit overwhelming and too influencing on the leaderboard positions... but further overall rewards wise gained and overall decent! I would say look back at the previous Faction Boss ,and this one and find a middle way in it as far CSS's go!

    Rate 7/10

    Boss Battle

The switch for needing specific characters to max with no warning seemed wrong. I get being in a faction that can max allows everyone to get all rewards. However considering this is a true faction contest It should be character dependent for the team not the individual.

Also one suggestion I have heard, is any characters needed at a level should be able to beat that level either solo or just 1 other person with a 5sb or 5ss level so achievable for everyone

Continued plus of using the free cards to be able to max, that is a good trend and hope it continues.

Would like to see a purpose of the boss breakers. Trend seems to be needing to beat in Turn 1 or Turn 2 which eliminates the need for the boss breakers and spending on them to have them. Hopefully these come back in a way

Biggest disappointment was not being able to max rewards not having enough of the characters, as this is a faction event, I do still feel this should be team dependent not individual dependent for maxing.

Maybe for the individuals for the bonus rewards can be done like Feud, add the characters, put the extra 1.75m solo points in an individual contest. Keep max for team and add the reward or move the reward to the individual contest.

Over all, game worked well, no issues on my side, faction did well.

also I always really enjoy FB events but you scaled this one a lot higher and also the bonuses characters were pretty rare.

    also please send me Kross.

    thanks

  • If you thought this event was bad Well just remember they have "new and exciting" things for 2023

  • So normally i love the Boss battles, however this one i did not enjoy. It felt like the gems where not hitting as hard as they should have with the bonuses, I leveled up a guy who should have caused massive damage but it seemed like the damage was not what was posted. I could be wrong of course just seemed that way. Also all the sub contests that require like the rarest posters is annoying. I'm not F2P i spend a little but how about mixing it up some with some MLC chase guys or cards that some people actually have. If there are more free points available it makes some more likely to spend to hit next millstone, but if you have to spend 1000s of dollars to max an event most cant do that. So honestly it makes me not to keen on playing. But hopefully next boss battle will be better like normal.

The boss battle used to be the best mini event but this last one was paywalled behind some rare megas and impossible to grind. The logistics behind everything was good as usual, i enjoy the boss battle system. Just changing it to pay to win sort of took some steam out of an event that was historically good in the past.

The contest was ok. It seemed harder to hit milestones than in past contests. I also didn’t seem to get as many shards this time around. The character seems really good, the design is great and his move set is devastating. The faction boss mode was really bad this time. It kept giving me network connection issues and freezing during the match. I had to wait an entire turn because my special move menu wouldn’t work or clear from the screen. I don’t know about anyone else, but trying to make a global lobby didn’t work at all for me.

Boss battle is one of my favorite events. Problem with it is that you absolutely need 1 of 2 characters each time and the resources to take them to 6s just to have a chance aren't there. I wasn't able to play as much do to the holiday this time but even when I was able to play it was really hard without the required characters. The milestone change was bad for business making it even harder to compete. This so far is the worst boss battle.

  • CaseyPlatinum

    1. Experience in the game: faction boss is always enjoyable. The variety of characters that could take down the boss was reasonable and not just PH KO.
    2. Tell us what you liked and what could be improved. Offers being laid out earlier. What I mean by that is I was short 5S diamond tokens for an evolve however I made a purchase. The problem was the next day an offer was added with a won more of those boxes which made me regret my original purchase.
    3. Suggestions: maybe it’s just me but I thought the green gems were 3000% not 1500% then it changed and was decreased. Maybe add a 3rd option for people to use like finisher/move damage or submission option into faction boss. I understand HTM striker was a beast but making more option available might be better.
    4. milestones -obtainable and great rewards. I’m excited about Al the TP and coins in the milestones. It has been a great improvement. However 5S diamond and emerald tokens seem to have a shortage at the moment. It’s known because these are in the offers but rarely enough In The milestones.
    5. Loot was probably the worst. No guaranteed shards at all. Pulled a 4star Jimmy or jey as guaranteed and rest was nothing good. Seemed the odds need minor tweaks. I’ll probably won’t pull with those same odds again.
    6. timings. There’s no real great time to start faction boss on New Year’s Eve. I would have suggested to add 1 extra day before New Year’s Eve for the boss. People have hectic lives and that extra day could have helped people spend time with their family.

The extra faction boss milestones provided more rewards for players on the way to 17.5 million, which is a good thing.

    BUT

Faction boss is one of the least-satisfying modes to grind. Between the game screeching to a stop for 5-8 seconds when lobbies are created, similar hang-ups when switching between apps (like jumping over to Discord to tell your faction buddies that you would've joined the lobby quicker but the game was too busy freezing) and a connectivity experience that still feels firmly in beta, it's too much to ask an average player to find time, even on non-holidays, to put up with that mess.

I did surprisingly get more solo milestones than I thought I would get, and as a result got closer to Kross than I have other recent faction bosses. But I know how this goes and after getting the first 1,500 I know it'll be a year before I see the next 500.

    Happy New Year.

Upping the milestone points needed while also making super rare characters needed, not to mention the chase guy needed to then get shards for said chase was really disappointing. Especially during a holiday weekend when most people had things to do. The amount of matches needed to be grinded out was damn near impossible. Faction boss used to be the most fun weekend event with a chance for non spenders to actually obtain something but now that like every other event is just a whale event. The mode I used to most look forward to is slowly becoming another trudge just to get my faction stuff done
