I love the contest. I think it provides valuable resources to the game. I love the xmas sweaters. They make the game even better.

It's a nice one, almost everyone will be beyond happy to have this gear, also the event seems good in the sense that everyone will get something out of it, if only the medallions are easier to get

I love the Christmas Sweaters. As far as gear goes, they are almost all very useful and they look great. It'd be nice if there were at least something to grind for. This contest feels like its less of a game and more of a shop. At least concerning Edge's sweater with a 24 hour window and very limited ways to earn medallions.

Why can we not start on time?!?!?!?!?

These faction bosses are just getting worse and worse IMO. I get you are trying to keep it competitive but a shield every turn, MP increase every two turns and then a freeze every other two turns, this is just to much.

Contest is fine...
HOWEVER, Can you please fix boss battles so they are so boring, annoying, and get to be waste of time. Why is it that a move that creates gems the get broken doesn't count toward lowering the gems needed to break the shield... It says gems BROKEN not gems swipped.
Honestly, did they even QA this? Oh wait… the players are the QA department!

agreed level 17 boss 700 million health, what you guys lossing by having this high ? i feel its not a challenge its impossible, i feel it should be progressive hp each time you play not by level. rewards should more frequent not random, i would be more interested in playing boss if i got rewards of good quantity each time i play. thanks if you see this

Ive enjoyed the contest but ive been chasing Edge's gear to no avail i wosh it wouldve been easier to obtain. All i want for xmas is edges gear lol but i do wish there was more than just 1 event to play through for Hogan's evo coins. I have enjoyed the boss battle just wish my faction mates would participate more the only thing id change there is the event milestones from doing the boss battles.

Feedback for Sweater Smackdown Boss Battle
Positives
- Guess the only good thing was even though the gears were nice and would have loved to get one but due to the restrictions I don't think I can get anything at all.
- The solo tours were good and restriction were less restricted so happy with those choice and not paywalled CSS.
Negatives
- As I predicted after last month's Boss Battle where it seemingly was rather easy for a lot of players to max out Boss Battle, it was only fitting that Scopely goes and rather than fine tune but overtune the boss to the point that it became a lot harder for factions outside top 10 to get anywhere close to maxing.
- The Boss Battle was heavily glitched with lots of connection issues, moves not working, disconnecting people in the middle, not loading, the list goes on and on... Boss Battle was fun when it started but now seems to be going backwards and leading to a lot of frustration from within faction mates.
- This time we came across our queues being stuck even though it's already completed. Unsure what's the cause or if this was isolated to just few factions but this caused a lot of headache as queues are limited so there's a huge backlog of players wanting to play but unable to do anything.
- The Boss moves are quite ridiculous this time as it's been made to the point that if you can't beat it Turn 1 then you're pretty screwed as it takes so long to beat it and moves that reduce MP by -18 jus seems so unreasonable especially when we're fighting a Showboat with a boatload of HP to take down. Even strategising against the boss felt pointless when you're limited to what you can do after Turn 1 so you have no choice but to rely on the few players who have those key superstars to help carry you through.
- It rather seems that you look at your data and tweak it to the point where the superstars needed to take down the boss are pretty much those who are heavily paywalled (e.g for this one it seemed like Mutant Roman was the MVP) rather than a balance between what we can use and what is paywalled.
- Didn't like the Edge Sweater restricted to 24 hours where it seemed pretty obvious the only way to get was to spend spend spend...
- A missed opportunity to give out Outsiders gears which I personally felt should have been done but alas this was done as a spend instead but looking at the response seems like it was more beneficial for Scopely as people were willing to spend for those gears. Personally didn't see those gears as game changers.
- Pretty sure someone messed up the calculations for the free part of the solo milestones as I gotten ever freely available solo points and I'm failing just 25k shy of the last Free milestone. So much for free huh?
- Prizewall again was meh, it's either you spend to get to the portion that's considered a good part of the prizewall or you're relegated to those boxes and pray to RNG.
In summary, this felt like another crappy Boss battle as I unfortunately didn't have any of the useful superstars to help my faction so I'm just grateful for those that were able to help carry the rest of us which seemed like such a burdensome event and wouldn't wish that on anyone as no one's obligated to but when then when they're the only ones who can help with the event, then we see them getting burnt out by the amount they have to put in, so personally I wouldn't commend for these type of events or better yet fix all the issues and glitches so atleast we can strategise better but when you put a tough boss and have to deal with issues and glitches it just makes the playing experience unjoyful.

Wow - to put the bonus guys behind level 17. Which is deadly hard for most factions to complete... All I have to say is GG.
Spent the entire day trying to squeeze through lvl 17 without 6SB and mRomain... (yes 6SB are still rare and mRomain even rarer).
Discouraged about the game right now as its too difficult for mild spenders and F2P to keep up. I can only assume your player base is growing smaller and smaller by the month.

Man, the shift in emotions I had for the sweater contest this year (and the people involved) followed by realizing it was god damn Faction Boss was severe enough to give me whiplash.
- To start - I think all of the gear selections were good in that most of the characters needed it (sans maybe Becky and Edge) and I thought that they gave them somewhat of a kick up the ass as a result. There's a bit of a complication in that a lot of those characters also had prerequisite gear (namely Hogan and Easy E, who have quite rare gear) but those are also two guys who probably need that second gear. That made everything else all the worse.
- The kicker came when boss battle was the event type, which mean that I would do what I do every boss battle - fall 5-8 milestones behind the end of 'free' milestones and ultimately waste my damn time. I actually got further than anticipated this time around despite this boss battle being unbearable past turn 2 because I ended up with a solid group of people in my faction, but even then it didn't make much difference because of how everything was structured: a large portion of points were locked behind clearing a level 17 boss battle with a list of people who ranged from 'underwhelming compared to more common options' to 'total waste of a slot'. And if you didn't do this totally reasonable task, then you didn't get jack and your time was better spent elsewhere.
- All the usual problems also cropped up to help contribute - weird phantom lobbies, losing up to a full turn for no reason, disconnect (whether myself or a teammate) out of nowhere - all make a bad mode worse. I've said it before, many others have said it before. I just want to emphasize that faction boss bugs are so much worse. You get the health pack bug in feud, you restart the game, lose at most a minute. You lock up deep into a boss battle fight, all you can do is take it and watch in dismay as the run falls to pieces, wasting all your time and possibly running the risk of not being able to group up with an ideal team. Kills all enthusiasm I have to play.
- Prize wall seemed to be tuned so that you maybe got one 30k gear if you did everything perfectly, and a premium price if you spent a ton - which is odd because all the more expensive gears are worse than the new ones imo. The Edge gear was in particularly incompetently set up (Shop description implies that one could unlock it by doing all the tours w/ contest bonuses day 1 but tours activate one day at a time so it's basically just a whale gear - this really feels like it's a case of one hand not knowing what the other is doing) and I'm not even dignifying the Bischoff gear on the portal with a response. Other than that, you had some really underwhelming gifts, a 6-star token which is probably 'the best of a bad situation', and a strap. It's also real easy to get stuck with ~3,000 tokens and have nothing to spend them on because there wasn't even a pity econ slot on the board.
- Tours weren't too awful, but I'm saying that at someone who actually had Hogan built enough to handle them, and that's not exactly an easy task for a lot of people. On top of that, if you didn't have the contest requirements down perfect they would also likely torpedo your event chances.
- Here's another bullet point jus to emphasize how much I hate faction boss and how it makes you reliant on either your faction (who likely don't have the roster strength or depth if you're outside the top 100) or randoms (oh my god the thought brings shudders) where all the other events largely grade you on your individual performance (Yes, ultimately feud is just you beating a bunch of 1v1 PvE matches, the second person on teams is usually a formality) - if boss battle was adjusted to solo play maybe I'd be a bit more understanding but as someone who isn't super in-tune with the faction thing it's always a weekend I dread.

No New Character? No Problem.
Offering opportunities to acquire powerful characters that were previously released or earning gear that makes those characters relevant again in the current meta is the kind of contest that a lot of players have been clamoring for. It also has the benefit of making those players that are anxious for the new toy even more ready to go for the next week when the new character does drop.
Time Travel Isn't Allowed!
I promise I won't complain as much about subjecttochange.scopely.com in 2023, but I'm getting my stuff in for 2022 - Faction Boss was advertised as beginning at afternoon reset in the blog, even though the in-game timers had been set for two hours after that for quite some time. Unfortunately, later in this contest, an in-game timer was adjusted on the solo FB sub-contest - this picking and choosing of what timers are and aren't adjusted (the faction contest did not end after faction boss as advertised, too) is annoying to have to keep up with.
And I know this sounds like a lot of whining, but if the in-game timers weren't ever changed, no matter what, then I don't have a leg to stand on. But they are changed, arbitrarily, and that's where the frustration kicks in.
And about faction boss start time...
Why not start it at afternoon reset, which works reasonably better for just about every major country that plays the game - or at least better than starting it two hours after the fact?
Faction Boss Performance Review
Once you get into a match, Faction Boss performance was arguably the most stable it has been thus far. Yes, there are still hiccups and glitches that screw over players in the timed round format, but those are becoming less and less frequent.
Navigating the in-game menus, and even returning to the game when "alt-tabbing" between applications, while boss is running remains a pain in the neck as the game lags out every time a lobby is created. I often will stop playing the game as soon as I finish my requirements for faction boss simply because the alternative would be to deal with an incredibly laggy interface.
What I Spent Prizewall Coins On
Hogan boxes for about 100 Hogan shards and some econ. Will probably buy the token pack with faction contest rewards. Priced out of the gears I was interested in timed out of the Edge gear. Is what it is, but I just wanted to put that out there to put my feedback in perspective of what I accomplished this weekend (not much).

Its interesting to see how the above posts that start before the event were positive and you get a sense that people were excited and looking forward to getting some of the hyped gear.
I like the idea of bringing in new gears to make older superstars relevant, or useful as with the changes in the game over the last 6-12months have made anyone older then then last year to be largely useless as a fighter and only good for trainer/coach.
Imo the trend over the last three months has been steeply negative and getting worse. It has taken a lot of fun out of the game. Alot of the complaints are the same. The amount of special superstars need for points that are pay walled, but thwy are not just pay walled but rare pay wall. This is not fun and it is not competitive they are not thw same things. Even doing 100+ pulls per month , I had one of those superstars, the oldest one. It should not be hard to come up with a formula that is 50/50 or 60/40 so you can still make money but its also fun for players. Uncontrolled greed is ruining the experience.
In the past it was cool and fun to work with teammates to overcome the boss. If it takes the top few guys in your faction to help pull guys through thats great it helps the faction experience. They should be rewarded not punished. This past boss event was ridiculously hard. Guys who spend 300-400 a month with whale rosters 5k+ talent and they couldn't beat the boss. The standard line for Scopley is that they want make it competitive but that is rhetoric, its all about squeezing more money. Selling boss breakers, selling pulls for special characters, selling gears on 4 year old guys. Uncontrolled greed ruined the experience for a lot of players this weekend.
It's was nice that there where some more the usual 6 star tokens available, unfortunately very very few could get to them because of how difficult they made the boss and ridiculously out of reach on the prize wall for gear. Not fun
The general trend is worrisome as the 2 monthong campaign equates to less events and less resources for players, but its still getting more and more expensive. Players in my faction have been saving to get the titan plate but have to wait longer because there's now less skill plate tokens. The talent up has been lost and all the resources that help set you up for the month. Basically they give less and want more. Lesa fun, more money.
I'm not sure Scopley understands Christmas. In case there is confusion its not about making people pissed off and frustrated. If there's one time to show your players, who are paying and supporting you, that you appreciate them, it Christmas. So far, not so fun and costing more money then last month.
The lack of player appreciation and respect for thier paying supporters makes involvement with Scopley more like buying services from a telephone air duct cleaning company. I think thats where the marketing director must have came from. Aggressive and one sided with increasing demands and wanting more money.
There was a class action suit that Epic games lost this month for its Rocket League loot boxes as they were deemed unfair and against consumer protection laws. Epic had to pay 2.75 million. We need to find ways to hold Scopley accountable in the same way as imo Epic, with Fortnite and Rocket League are a much more equitable company. They still make tons of money but as a player you don't feel screwed by them all the time. I can't think of a company where they are more hated by thier players. Its amazing its survived this long. The feedback on all social media is negative, 9 to 1 bad. New players are discouraged from trying the game and rightly so because of its ridiculous costs. So Scopley makes it existing players pay more. Sign me up for the next class action suit.

Was a fun weekend event
The tours weren't too restrictive and some of the gears are pretty good.
Didn't manage to get any luck obtaining any gears and guessing it's onto Xmas 2023 for me.

Biggest issue for me was the boss battle. This was by far the worst boss battle experience I've ever had, with it basically being if you don't win turn one you are screwed. The event overall was a let down, and I had my hopes set too hih
0 -
The bonus characters not being able to get points unless you beat at lvl 17 made them useless and boss battle in general is just an excuse for factions with 6 star top characters to "carry" everybody else. Players without 6 star or 5 star gold characters don't even get to help with boss breakers or helping break the shield because they are out of health before that part becomes useful.
I'm addition by the end I only had enough currency to buy one bag and couldn't do anything with my remaining 1.5k points.

I like when an event doesn’t involve a new card. We don’t need a new one every week.
please send edge gear

Solid contest from top to bottom. Truly enjoy not having to chase a character every weekend. Would love to see more contests centered around gears that make old superstars viable in the new meta.
Biggest gripe from this weekend was with the faction contest. If you didn’t have a couple of 5ss ready for 5sg or a 5sg ready to take to 6* you were going to spend a LOT of resources to hit your 1%.
Enjoyed the mix of css rarity in the tours and really enjoyed the css’ for the FB contest being readily available characters (compared to “normal” atleast).

this Was a fast boss to get done and made it enjoyable to complete fast with our faction

So Here's my take on this event.
I absolutely love a challenge. I feel like this boss was meant to nerf KOs abilities. Which was done successfully. However it also brought about a great bit of difficulty for those that didn't have key characters upgraded. ie Zombie Dom or Bloodline Uso, and again I'm ok with a challenge.
Lets look at what has transpired over the year. 6* characters came out, Boss Battle is occurring monthly. We are getting a decent amount of resources from these events. Can anyone name one event that gave enough resources to take a character from 5sg to a maxed out 6* (excluding start fill currency).
I feel like players need a better opportunity to be able to upgrade their characters without having to spend hundreds of dollars a month, which brings me back to players not having the key characters at the right rarity for this event. I know some people that have been playing since the start that very rarely spend that do not have a single 6* character due to a lack of resources. Just a thought, maybe the top free milestone gets a little more than it has been getting ion the past. Average coin spend to max a 6* is around 150 mil. 10-25 mil coin barely does anything for the players anymore.
All in all a pretty good event aside from the time miscommunication on the blog, yes I know subject to change right. Faction Boss has come a long way since it came out and i feel like this could be the best gameplay mode with a bit more stabilization.

This weekend sucked. Faction contest with no ties to the weekend event. No faction contest points in either boss battle or the tours. Boss Battle was not good, there was no clear way through, just look at the faction leaderboards and you can confirm that for yourselves. Rewards largely did not justify the means.
Outside of the joy of making money, what did you, as a company, think went right about this weekend? I guarantee that whatever yall thought was a win internally did not carry over to the end user.
1 -
Why not have gear for more than 24 hrs . Why you gotta be like that scopely
0 -
The Event is standard format just like all your other events. Nothing new.
Sweaters Gear were nice editions to make those three NWO guys good in current scenario.
I have two request:
1) Make a usable gear like that for those Original 8 characters. They deserve that.
2) Please Find a way to differentiate between leaderboard for Faction Boss Battle. 7 or 8 Factions having 400k points and still ranked differently isn't fair by any means. That gives some unfair advantage for solo leaderboard. Just reaching their first shouldn't be the one criteria. But yeah it that's the criteria make the event for couple of hours , or 6 hrs.
Grinding the whole day for top 50 rank and then fall behind because a faction who has same score got the better leaderboard rewards.
This isn't balanced.

This contest has been pretty good. It’s unfortunate that there’s no longer a way to grind and get good rewards, everything is hidden behind a paywall. For casual players it’s just not worth trying to then not be able to succeed. I get you’re a business and rely on you 1%, but even after 4/5 years playing this, it’s impossible to keep up with the whales. I also agree re boss battles, the concept is good, but the execution isn’t. The game is buggy, so many issues such as not being able to match gems, finish moves etc. all adds up to a poor experience and I question why I bother with it.
you’ve made some good changes over the last year, but I’d love the game so much more if everything wasn’t about $’s and the everyday player had a chance to win. The best thing to happen this year was the mistake at Halloween that allowed average players a shot at getting some good characters through the store with the free 80 coins. Whoever did that, give them a promotion and make it a regular feature. Maybe try and reward loyalty that way too?
1 -
This was by far the best boss battle experience as most of the faction was able to max. However, there was still issues with game lagging and the Edge gear shouldn't have been restricted to only 24 hours, it should be available until the end of the event.

A few comments that will get lost in the sea of feedback.
Lets start with the blog…I know it’s always subject to change, but how about one time we get accurate important information, like the start times of each portion of the event? Can we at least manage that?
Event itself was absurdly overpriced. You put up a special 24 hour event for Edge gear and make the milestone around 600 pulls?
Loot was fine, expected it to be heavily weighted to a few gears and it was.
Boss itself functioned until that last 6 hours where lobbies were few and rare, as our faction was consistently at 20/20 lobbies. We have 100 member factions, so at minimum we should have 25 available lobbies, and imo 35-40, as inevitably rooms will clutter and fail to open from server/game issues.
css requirements were better than normal, but the level 17 Boss was just cruel. Near the same health as a 20. Should’ve just made css 20’s and allow us to continue to score in event while completing reqs. Or lowered the health on the level 17.
Overall, the event was ok, could be improved of course.
Main issues, as normal, is communication and functionality. The higher pricing lately is starting to be a concern as well

Sería bueno que pusieran luchadores que la mayoría de jugadores tenemos para ganar las recompensas adicionales, mejores recompensas y que sea más fácil llegar a un luchador 6*

I always like gear being introduced for cards. It makes gameplay for older cards interesting for the event at least. I wish it would happen more times per year honestly.
0 -
Boss battle was awfull in all sense. It had lots of glitches and connection issues and this time the difficulty level was way high.
Another thing that was horrible tis time was that you can buy for $5 the new sweaters but to be useful you have to buy the other gears, costing an extra $20. Felt like robbery.
On the other hand, the tours were accesible if you don't take into account the first one that you needed to have a rare guy and also do some extra backfips to get edge's attire. Looked impossible.
The rest of the prizewall options were very pricey but can't complain because there were cheaper options this time.
Also the faction contest is impossible to max unless the vast majority of your faction can evolve or have some 6s. You should have kept the option to get points by fusing or evolving

Only giving the gear of alone of Socko was a bitter sweet, cause he is not even that high prio on the metagame and not giving chances of their shards because not everbody owns those caracters, I had high hopes that at least some shards of tech Cena or Socko.
