  • Considering the bait and switch with the loot coins, this should be interesting

not bad really nice variety to choose from in prizwall, i wish coins where worth 50 or 100 for collecting showdown down coins, wish solo points where more aswell to compensate other events player's cant get, not bad, l need more of this for each era.

  • Pros:

There is a chance that you could get a free 5 star gold poster just from faction rewards and a couple missing shards to complete a certain superstar that you didn't get in the first hand.

    Cons:

Most of the best rewards are basically impossible to get due to need a "certain superstar to get that rewards" criteria.

The main idea why this contest is added in the first place is to get a certain superstar or shards that could support your overall roster but the way this contest is gonna go through it is a hard time to get that free top reward

  • It's basically impossible for me to progress, as my showdown opponents always have a lot lower notoriety points than I do, so I'm losing notoriety faster than I can gain it. It forces me to try to get revenge on opponents who beat me, usually with far higher notoriety than I have.

I wish the choices for opponents in showdown (especially for contests like this) were like goldilocks and the three bears. One low, one high, one about the same.

Another useless line of prizes in which you can’t buy anything without a donation. Another event for donators. 80 percent of the characters from the donation pools of events at the beginning of the year.

And launching a character promotion event right after the kickoff is a very strange idea.

I tried my luck just to see if it would be better than what i have received the last 4 or 5 times i actually paid for loot coins during an event i bought 4 of the and every one was just 20 shards. The paid loot shouldn't be so full of shards and things you'd use in the store. I also couldn't get a single event bonus from the event matches since the required Superstars are so rare. It really feels like the only way to get anywhere on these events is spend an outrageous amount of $

The showdown event was a little better bonus wise but the event matches didn't help with the reward points i didn't like that changw

  • I expected more when I saw the event announced.

    TOUR

this time were very bad, the fighters that add extra are the ones that most do not have and thus they cannot contribute more to the faction event. They should consider putting fighters that almost all of us have. Very poor faction event because specific fighters add talent and it should have added all the new ones of the year.

The event bags are a scam, only a fragment of those that one does not need, what a hoax. 6* sucks to go up. The individual event gives very few medallions if you don't spend money. This entire event was based on spending money. Not all of us have money to spend on a game with so many errors.

To culminate these events, we don't need this game, there are many more to go play, you do need the players that we come every day here, so listen to your players.

This event has been regular the showdown adds very little which makes it almost impossible to reach 6 star tokens they must make the 6 star tokens accessible

The tours have very few faction points and there are no bags with passing coins there is almost no chance of getting a single silver or bronze coin

    Suggestions for an upcoming showdown

more possibility of reaching better rewards in individual or faction milestones without having to spend money not all people have money to spend

practically this showdown event seemed more like an event to spend money than to play worry more about the game I hope they improve it and that the 6 star tours are more accessible without the need to spend money or that if you have to spend money but on the prizes finals

The truth is that I expected a lot from this event, it looked good, it was a good idea poorly executed, I hope it improves, regards

Best of 2022 tour: Pro it was nice that you allowed a variety of superstars to use as the bonus characters.

con: again not everyone has all those characters

Showdown Event: Pro, love these events as it allows me to gain showdown coins faster compared to about 1600 per day which is too slow if you are still trying to obtain the promoters like I am.

con: with no promoter it’s extremely difficult to move up as you lose more than you gain. Plus majority of the time I get matched up with people who are lower than me so it takes even longer to gain the points to move up. So I’ll gain 10 while losing 20 and so on

Prize Wall: pro it’s nice to see a variety of options: characters, gear, etc.

con: prizes all are always a spending event. impossible to get anything worth while if you don’t spend to agin the points needed to get something we actually want or need

    What went well/ I liked

    • Contest Superstars for SD Event varied from available to rare. I felt like the mix and points all were fair overall.
    • The Number of Matches was VERY reasonable for the SD CSS
    • Personally adding a 6S to my men's roster finally has made SD much more bearable, but still a pretty hard 6S wall for the player base as a whole.

    Areas of Improvement

    • Faction Contest being limited to very specific (even if some were free characters for everyone) was a bit of a let down. While I was not impacted directly, a few faction mates shared screenshots of their inability to participate (lack of tokens and characters being maxxed out). In the future an Era Option or even the Monthly Character as an upgrade option should help open the contest more.
    • Challenge Tours all being Cody required could have been better spread out. That aspect of the contest was "if you got Cody here's some free bags". Having it spread out more would have been better: 1 Grindable (SD Scrimmage Character), 1 fairly available (Maybe an MLC Chase), and then Cody would have been a better split.
    • Happy Corbin Tour Difficulty - (I typically do the 3SS starter pack every month.) In previous months I have always felt like the tour difficulty scaled with where my Monthly Character was at all month. This one definitely felt like to me that the tour was a level or more above where it should be. My thought is if I feel it's tuned a bit high; how are the F2P players feeling about it? The MLC character tour to me on weekend contests should be points everyone can expect to get.

    Prize wall

    • This deserves its own section as it was the biggest let down of the weekend. I ended the weekend with 21 of the solo milestones. The equivalent of $100 in loot pulls and a good amount of the contest characters.
    • From the SD Prize wall all that I can get is Tokens, Coins and TP. This is pitiful and awful. At the very least give me some sort of strap option, some SD shards, something.
    • Or for a Prize wall like this one sprinkle some guaranteed Silver/Bronze Medallions into the Solo Milestones.
    • SD events have been a fantastic step in the right direction based on their prize walls alone for the past year(ish). This was a step backwards and look forward to them getting back into a good spot in the future.

My constructive feedback has to do with Showdown Refresh option. There are instances where I am trying to use my less talented roster to gain contest points, but toward to end of the event I am constantly facing 6SB opponents that makes it almost impossible to grind through the event. I have used the refresh option many times to try to cycle a lower-talented opponent that I may be able to compete against and win. My suggestion is to make a “premium refresh” option that draws opponents with a +/- 15% range of the selected superstars. It could be considerable more expensive - instead of 2500 coins, maybe 250,000 starting. It would at least offer a practical option for folks to power through the event and negate the “this is impossible argument.”

Feedback for Best of 2022 SD Scrimmage

    Positives

    • A nice change of space to not introduce a new superstar this weekend but rather focus on the "best" of 2022, guess I'm ok with that.
    • Uhmm, don't know about the 40 pulls being offered for $20 is a marketing strategy. At this point the amount of these we're seeing is starting to feel like it's part of your plan to entice people into spending. Nonetheless it has worked as I caved and spent, not too happy or sad with my pulls knowing that it was not a ridiculous amount I spent to do a decent number of pulls.
    • SD itself was fine with match-making and no issues whatsoever.
    • Like the SD right now where it isn't grind heavy so being able to do what we can and get to where we need to max SD for coins and call it a relaxed weekend event is always good with me.
    • The solo contest was good, managed to get to milestone 20 with those discounted 40 pulls.
    • Liked the bags as it was mixed with quite a number of rare characters so managed to put me closer. Best thing out of that was being able to get the last 40 shards to recruits Striker RVD.

    Negatives

    • As lavish as the Prizewall looks, it actually is quite bad if you don't spend a ridiculous amount to get a decent amount of medallions or you go on a pull spree to get yourself those loot coins. All the shards are hidden behind those special coins so it really sucks to not being able to get any extra shards. As I've posted in my previous feedback, you're all taking the one good aspect of SD Scrimmage and making acquiring shards harder and harder.
    • The Faction TU portion is really dumb... I'm not going to elaborate as I'm pretty such the whole community isn't really happy with the specific choices of superstars asked so please revert them back to what they were before.

Just another SD and nothing special for me personally.

Pros: it was nice to be able to do 40 pulls for $20 (really 47 but y0u know what I mean). I know it was a mistake but it would be great if scopely made something like this available every so often on purpose. Limit it to 1 a person. You'll get a ton of sales.

I also honestly didn't have a problem with the milestone rewards. Other then somehow I got 3 copies of the same ultimate strap.

The bags were good for me. I got a bunch of shards of people I already have, but I also got quite a few of rare superstars and people I don't have.

Cons: it's weird the showdown coins are worth so little for a showdown event.

Most of the css were very rare which is unfortunately becoming more common.

Lastly, the prizewall sucks. You have to get an absurd amount of medallions to get anything remotely useful. Hardly anyone can get anything besides coins and tp. You also couldn't get any shards or posters with the medallions which makes no sense.

The event was okish, not amazing, probably a 4/10 overall

    I liked:

M/F showdown - this is great, almost as good as F/M in my opinion. Any chance to use women's roster is good.

I like that Scopely made the $20 offer available for the whole weekend. Loot itself varied wildy for some, but at least keeping the offer up for everyone was definitely the way to go. Good call to whomever made it.

    I disliked:

Capped showdown coins in the solo event - why do this? Keep it uncapped

The faction event was pretty pointless. If you're going to insist on having such a talent up heavy contest on the weekend, at least have weekend coin and TP events. This time was even worse considering how paywalled most of the high point cards are.

Tours weren't great - way too many paywalled cards needed for the bonus faction points.

Prizewall was pretty terrible. Not a fan of multiple currencies, between the gold/silver/bronze and the medallions. It’s a bit too much. Would have preferred an option to exchange bronze coins for medallions. I like that the good taker gear was there, but 170k medallions is too much. Also there should have been some premium plates on the prizewall. It sucked that shards were only available from bronze coins. Keep it all 1 currency and give me the full menu - shards, straps, plates and resources.

    Showdown evaluation 3/10

-most unattractive thing was how HIGH everything was. Considering what other prizewalls have been you've been steadily increasing prices with lessening the rewards for the last few showdowns.

-another paywalled event was not surprising but the amount you had to pay was crazy!

-Faction event wise event though you let the talent up have htm rhea and priest in there the super rare stars only giving points was bad. Real bad. Real lackluster event which seems to be the norm now.

POSITIVE note- thr 47 pulls for $20 was welcomes. Even if it's crap pulls I'd rather spend $20 than $99

Another event where you do what you can and move on.I was able to get some nice coins out of it,but nothing else. The costs of shards was way too high

  • The structure of the contest was a good one. The issue with the loot coins however over shadowed the contest. The fact that some persons were able to purchase multiple mega pulls at $20.00 and others only one pull while better than previously when errors happen was still not fair to those who only had one opportunity. Also customer service not giving back to extra pulls to everyone just some has also created a level on unfair treatment. I was negatively impacted by this.

  • Reiver8675309
    Reiver8675309 Member ✭✭✭

Let's took about the incorrect loot deal on the portal.

I purchased the $20 deal for 47 pulls three times before it was taken down and grabbed it again when it was put up as a one-time purchase. I came away with two new characters in a field where I went into it missing 12 and picked up shards for two characters from the bronze medallions I received that got me to within 300-400 of unlocking them.

This is a pretty great haul compared to the other loot fiascos in previous months (I received zero new characters from Grant's camping expedition and was similarly shut out in the Bret discounted loot last month) but I think it also highlights the immensely-low odds that greet the biggest spenders in this game.

I believe most players are averse to spending that much on a mobile game but assume that if they did, they would probably get something great out of it. And after three consecutive months of temporarily living the life of the big spenders - I'm not so sure.

I think 47 pulls for $20, using the current odds structure, is a perfectly reasonable deal for players, not a mistake. Sure, some players may see some benefit early on if they were previously free to play or light spenders, but eventually the house will win as it has with me and several other players that were medium spenders and took the plunge to strike while the iron was hot.

    Elsewhere:

    • The showdown was relatively painless with sensible, small contest superstar requirements and a SD coin limit that had enough headroom to keep from encouraging people to save their showdown coins for a potential midweek.
    • The tours seemed messed up somehow - requiring Corbin to take on a 5SG opponent in hell seems overinflated at this point, particularly in a two-month MLC. I was fortunate to have Corbin at 4SB to handle it, but so many players were likely shut out by this very out-of-the-ordinary scaling that had previously been rather sensible.
    • The faction contest was a drag, requiring hyper-specific talent up for cards that most players have probably taken up rather high at this point. As a funny sidenote, I was able to hit my 1% for the faction by taking up Bayley "The Huggable One," a free character from 2020 that somehow managed to get on this list instead of Tech Bayley. What?
    • The prize wall remains a hokey pokey. Adding more econ options for players at low medallion counts is a welcome addition, but leaving out skill plates - a key part of past scrimmage prize walls - and moving shards behind the loot-only medallions were two steps back. I'm sure it's a massive balancing act to make sure you're not giving away more than you already are with some of these past loot errors. However, I feel like the feedback has been clear and yet apparently we can't purchase 4sg tokens without having skill plates removed from the prizewall. That doesn't seem right, does it?
      • A reasonable solution to this would've been to add at least one bronze medallion to the solo milestones, or even the faction. But it does not appear that that was considered.

I just want to say, 47 pulls for $20 is fair considering how rare getting shards or pulling a new character is. A couple months ago it was feasible to spend and do tours and whatever showdown or fued and be about 150 or so shards away from the new character. Now it’s less than half way there and super rare to get shards needed on a pull. I’m actually spending less now with these odds than more.

The tour format was terrible. Switching from male to female in the middle of a tour is annoying. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

lastly the prize wall is good. But I spent for this event, I played 3 days of tournaments, including the crazy short one before the tournament, and I ended up with 60k tokens or shards or whatever for the prize wall. There wasn’t anything good in that range, and I was 2 steps from completion of all the milestones. That’s ridiculous.

i think the positive about this event is letting people keep what they pulled from the 40 pull error and letting people get that same offer. But with what get from pulls now, I’d say 40 pulls for $20 is the way to go.

Honestly? Thought the event idea wasn't too bad. A little shaky, but what else is new?

    Good things:

I know some people would disagree, but no new character this week? Kinda don't mind! I actually enjoy the idea of having a weekend where you can take something like SD and give people the opportunity to catch up and close out the shards on some people you may have missed. Obviously, you couldn't really do this all the time but once every few months? Heck, even like twice a year? Not a horrible change of pace for a weekend, IMO!

The CSS Requirements in terms of matches was an absolute breeze. I always feel like I'm committing a lot of time early in SD to doing all my CSS but this weekend it felt like I was done in no time, and this is coming from someone who has still missing 2 characters (even if they only needed 1 match each, ehehe).

Well. Some? Of the prizewall? Early on, I knew I didn't think I was gonna go super crazy with this event. I knew (and based on what I saw from some, I was proven right) this could be a potential huge money pit. But I still wanted to come away with HOPEFULLY one new card. All told, I admittedly did 3 megas. No new cards outright, barely any shards of "premium" characters outside of guarantees, one full card of a recent premium (Striker Lashley), and 2 bronze tokens. Thankfully one token got me the shards to get King Woods, and the other got me within 100 of Theory. Not the sexiest, but objectively got what I wanted, so not too mad!

    Not my favorite things:

Some people, for various reasons, can't access the portal. Kind of a bummer that the botched loot extravaganza basically didn't exist without getting on the portal. Weak.

Like someone mentioned, having like all the challenge rewards locked behind one person in Cody was kind of lame.

Also related to tours, although I didn't have an issue, it sure seemed like the difficulty of the Corbin and HoF tours got swapped. Potentially not great for people!

The spread of prizewall options continues to be.....not great! Like I said, I did 3 megas, and that got me to a hair over 61k medallions. What does that get me? Not....anything, really! I mean I guess I'll always take some more tokens and all that, but to potentially be spending like $300 and not really being able to get anything of note is kind of a feel bad.

Also, what happened to skill plates? I miss skill plates on SD weekend already.

    Capped showdown coins. I mean....I get the logic....but c'mon, doggs. Please. 😓

Overall, I didn't hate it? Sounds like a real backhanded compliment but I feel like the time required to get everything from actual SD and tours was pretty minimal, which is always welcome. A weird spread on prizewall rewards, but a nice chance to try and secure some cards you missed is nice. I only got one myself, but I've seen people on my team get anywhere from like 3, 4, or 5+ new cards this week, and you simply love to see it.

  • Pros

I loved that instead of chasing a new SS we were given the chance to get shards for past chase characters. I actually think doing this more often is good. I know the 40 additional loot coins was a mistake but I have to believe that it increased the players that spent.

I liked the number of points that were available without having to use the CSS

    Cons

The fact that there were soo many SS in the prize bags just watered down the amount of shards. Either increase the amount of shards dropped or decrease the SS so instead of getting 30 shards of 10 different SS you get 100 to 300 of a single SS.

  • it was the the worst event ever 47 loot coins an got nothing in it didnt like this event at all

I don't get it what's the point of displaying stuff, when in years you're not able to get atleast one "atleast one" of the top order items. It's always the same. Doesn't matter what kind of names you throw on your zero chance bags. It's always the same.

I'm pretty sure there isn't any drawing for this, dunno why the rules are in the OP, but whatever, I wanted to talk about this one.

    • I never realized how good it was to just take a week off from chasing some shmuck I'm never going to unlock to possibly unlock one of the twenty shmucks I didn't unlock in months past. Especially in the era where it feels like every character is the best in their class until the next one comes around and then the other guy is completely powercrept, there's no reason why guys should be kept on a pedestal like that for years unless they became a true cornerstone of their class, and making the free characters part of this song and dance (i.e. Mherex out here calling Happy Corbin one of, if not the best trickster in the game) is a band-aid solution at best.
    • Back on track, the event was very... luck-based depending on how you would regard it. I actually got a few people (shocker) because I had a few bronze medallions fall into my lap and I got shard recruits that way, and the 20 dollar mega was also a help in things. As such, I think this event was a relative success and probably the best of the 'Best Of' events, despite that being a low bar to clear. But a lot of the free shards came from bags which came from a huge pool, which means it's a total crapshoot whether you get those precious shards closer to someone or the equivalent of nothing. And with how this event is set up, it kinda lives and dies by the shards. The medallion wall was a way to assuage that a bit, but only the bronze medallions were approaching obtainable and a lot of the higher-card guys were limited to one bundle of shards.
    • Thank god the bronze medallions actually existed because the regular medallion wall was the same usual whale food - 200 bucks for gear, more for other stuff - including my least favorite part of moments, permanent perks for the top 0.1%. As if the game wasn't pay-walled enough to compete in at that level. Aside from that, there was the half-hearted econ and token offers, which don't even feel like they match up to what other sources are giving out nowadays.
    • Going back to the 20 dollar mega, I have to agree - at this point with the quality of pulls we're getting (99% shard bundles where if you pull a couple hundred of them, you might have enough to take one person 6SB) it might as well be 40 for 20. It's not like I saw people pulling anything super great left or right from my faction (aside from DX HHH - you know, a 4SB, gear-based recruit that should be easier to get than he is) and surely the numbers show that with a loot system that lacks any sort of proper pity system or way to make a meaningful return on dud pulls a carrot works better than a stick. I would really, really hope that numbers show that.
    • Other than that, a pretty cut and dry event - tours had rough as hell requirements and the Corbin tour was super overtuned for a week one tour but it was all for faction points so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯, showdown was a bit more reasonable, and you could get pretty decently far into the milestones - though the cheap 40 pull really helped in that.
  • Thefefe

loved the fact that you could get the shards for past characters and that was really good.

cons without pulling a beat coin in the loot there was no way to earn enough token to get shards from prize wall

  • I thought the whole event sucked unless you had more than 1 of the showdown superstars and the talent up part was rediculous if you didnt have any of the premium guys low leveled cos most people already have taken up the free people as high as they need to be, and to be so limited to who u could take up for points meant a lot of people didn't make faction minimums

  • Blunt
    Blunt Member

I like the accidental loot coin packs. I think if there was 1 per player every event people would enjoy that. That being said the odds need to be changed a lot. Almost everyone who got said back barely got anything from it.

As for events every week they are getting slightly better, but I wish people could max them with grinding instead of money. I play the game a lot more when I can play 300+ showdowns to max an event. If I can't max I stop playing as soon as I max showdown coins.

All in all boss battle is my favorite mode right now. It's a team game that requires constant communication and with the right play the boss battle event is well with in range to max without spending.

IDEA: the general idea was good enough having an event were we can get shards for superstar but the odds of rare superstars were extremely low once more plus there were too many scrimmage cards were most people should already have them or be really close. imo there should have been more rare cards or only rare cards with low amount of minimum shards like 25-50.

REWARDS - milestones : rewards were also well also their scale but needed superstars were those that were in bags more or less so if you had them you could get some coins tps etc but no real chance of getting closer or even an new card ... if you dont have those cards tho then you couldnt get far enough to have a realistic odd getting to milestones that had many bags or ''better'' bags

LOOT: loot was as always with bad odds and even when you manage to hit a higher tier part of the loot then you most likley will get a common card but in higher rarity.

TIMES: as usual so i think more or less everyone is ok with that

DIFFICULTY : tours were normal on difficulty except the corbin one which was harder than the usual free month card tour .

in the end the overall event was a nice idea but the actual gain wasnt much unless you had all the cards to get a great amount of resources not cards neither shards...
