R58 UPDATE NOTES – SPEED UP & AUTOPLAY

How can you keep adding content and continually have screw ups? Are you just winging it, hoping it all goes ok? This boss battle is screwed because you haven’t addressed the trap gem vs trap gem issue. We’ve all lost points towards the event and you still remain silent.

I'm excited to try autoplay, but (and I could be 100% wrong here since it obviously hasn't debuted yet) I want to make my opinion known about the speed up.
I am extremely disappointed that the speed up 2x is going to be paywalled somehow. This is a basic feature we should all be getting for free, and if others are going to cheat and cut animations completely anyway for free then what incentive should I have to pay real world dollar for 2x speed?
- Available Speed Levels:
- Normal animation speed (1x).
- Speed Up animation by 1.25 times (x1.25).
- Speed Up animation by two times (x2.0). (Can be unlocked in various ways throughout the Game and Shop)

I have tried out these new features and have some positive and negative feedback to give.
Positive:
I like being able to not be glued to my phone while having to do 100+ of the same repetitive match.
The auto play has also gave me a interest in doing the stip tours which I would not touch before.
The speed up on animations and the loot box is something i have asked for in serveral surveys for 3+ years. Was happy to see this implemented.
Negative:
The AI has no rhyme or reason on auto mode. With some characters regardless of how the moves are set up the AI will play it incorrectly. Ideally a change having the moves play left to right or right to left would be more ideal.
The captcha when cycling through the auto matches where we have to click the 2 stars is a nusiance.
I wish the speed up feature would also include the AI gem swipes in subs.
Overall if the dev team could correct the randomness on the AI either by having it choose moves in a left to right or right to left sequence, or by being a "smart AI" and just playing the moves in the correct flow the feature would be solid.

A huge step in the game would be to have the AI play the moves as we set them up. Either right to left or left to right. This comes in to play especially with the Auto feature now. If requirements to max milestones are hundreds of matches Auto is a great thing but only if we can get the randomness of the order moves are used, out of the game.

Autoplay and the speed increase for certain game modes is a great idea. It makes having to do repetitive things like blitzes and stip tours easy to do. The only negative thing that myself and every other player dislikes is the required captcha every 10 matches. I understand why it's there, but it defeats the purpose of using autoplay if you're going to interrupt me every 10 matches to do a captcha to continue. The captcha ALSO shows up regardless whether you are using autoplay or not which is also frustrating. Can we do something about the captcha? If you have to have it there to prevent macros can we decrease the frequency at which the captcha shows up? 50 matches? 100 matches? 10 is just obnoxious.

Positives
- Repetitive activities are now much easier to complete with this update. There's a rewarding feeling to building up a certain character for tours/blitzes/stip tours that can autoplay their way to success. The AI isn't so smart that you can cheat victories, but if you as a human player put some thought into how the character is built, you can hold the AI's hand and find victory.
- For times when manual play is necessary, the speed up is very helpful to give matches a little bit more pep, especially when using characters that have excessively long animations.
- The ability to toggle auto on and off at will is very helpful for stepping in when the AI makes a mistake, or when manual play has achieved the desired result and auto play is all that is needed to proceed.
Negatives
- As of Oct. 17, it is obvious that the development team has grossly overestimated how this changes players' productivity. An adjustment should be made to meet the player base in the middle - while it's understandable that exploiters have poisoned the well, the maximum milestone in the first grind event after the update shows a disconnect between the fears of what the exploiters are doing to the game economy and the reality of what even the most savvy exploiters can do.
- On the subject of exploiters and autoclickers, the captcha is a wise idea, but having it be tied strictly to the number of consecutive times a player attacks a node, with no consideration to the speed that players are interacting with the node, is a very rudimentary captcha that frustrates more players than it slows. I hope the dev team can find a way to better implement the captcha to slow down autoclickers while having a smart enough equation to sort out players that are showing human tendencies when using the app.
- The autoplay AI, through early testing, appears to be dumber than the script used by enemy players in showdown and feud. This has caused some frustration in the community as it's undone a lot of assumptions that were made about how the AI works on defense - if there is a different script at work here, providing players with the correct script will actually go a long way in helping players understand these defensive tendencies and would provide some valuable knowledge for them to better build defenses against opposing players and build player engagement.
- At least on Android, the auto function is blocking the usage of the device's back button, even outside of matches, until the auto function is toggled off either in a match or in the pre-match screen. This is a very strange bug, but at least one that can be temporarily fixed when it pops up.
- This is a hypothetical negative, but it is widely believed in the community that 2x speed will be paywalled in some way that will further exacerbate a huge gap between heavy spenders and non-spenders or light spenders. I will revisit this when the roadmap for 2x speed comes into focus.

Have tried auto play not a big fan as it doesn't play like I would play. Makes matches that don't apply to my move sets. Or doesn't use the move when I would. I haven't divulged too much into the memories however what I do see they are mostly toons players rarely use maybe with the boosts they get will make them more usable🤷🏼♀️.

Autoplay is very convenient. On farming for tp or completing a lot of tours battles task for the faction event. The speed is very useful. But the downside of autoplay is the AI not playing the moveset in the right order and not even playing a charge move. I tested the order on which AI uses the moveset and I tried to change the moveset in that particular order but unfortunately the AI still plays the wrong order.

Absolutely love Autoplay and the x1.25 speed up.
Appreciate the caveat that the AI won't always play it as smart as I would so you've gotta be careful when it comes to which wrestlers you use it on.
But using it for stip tours, regular tours, blitzes, farming, great improvement.
Would like to see the x1.25 available in Faction Boss in the near future, that's not PvP
And will have to see how x1.5 and x2 is rolled out and made available

Autoplay is ok if you make your character idiot-proof. I guess it's good for humankind that AI doesn't solve the complexities of Champions though. We don't want this to turn into a Wargames scenario where Joshua becomes the top feuder in the game on it's way to solving the intricacies of global-thermonuclear war. Then we're all locked in a bunker waiting to see if the nukes that are flying are really about to land and end humanity or just a simulation.

faster animations=great
Moments=not great if i wanna try for 6star. Another use for resources.
Autoplay= ok sometimes. seems to glitch a lot. Moves not being charged correctly etc. Very inconsistent.

I enjoy this game so much that I played the tapjoy games for a time and found one that I liked. In that game, I noticed it had autoplay and wished the day would come that this game would also have some version of that. Now that is here, I'm as thrilled as I was the day I found out the concept existed. The only shortcoming of it is being at the mercy of the unpredictable AI but I will gladly have those circumstances over the option not existing at all. I feel like autoplay actually gives me reason to spend time in the game as i can now do so while completing other activities.

Now that autoplay and speed is introduced into the game, it does speed up doing redundant matches we need to help our faction, but not necessarily where we need 200 or so matches to meet the requirement for 300k for the Apocalypse Blitz this week.
I found that the autoplay feature was great to use in stipulation tours and grinding the normal matches for the weekly blitz using only a submission. That captcha every 10 or so matches were very annoying, would like to see it increased once it popped up the first time, possibly after a period of set time like Netflix asking are you still watching this show?. I believe finding exploiters could be easy to find with the partner Scopely is partnered with to find people using macros or whatever else they use to get an advantage.
Speed at 1.25x has sped the game up making it easier to get things done quickly and on with my day. Not even sure a 2.0x is necessary at all. I’m perfectly fine with the speed the way it is.
The overall introduction of these two improvements has dramatically improved my enjoyment of the game and would keep me around playing for a time to come. One of the best improvements to WWE Champions has ever done!

Autoplay is a great addition to the game as a number of aspects can take a lot of time, but the AI does a lot of the moves incorrectly, especially snowfall and pyro gems. Hopefully this is something that can be ironed out soon.
One thing I feel needs to be added to the game is the ability to obtain plated that have not been obtainable in a while. Boss Plate and the All heart plate to name a few. Should you be allowed to use multiple plate tokens to get these. It's important that all players have a chance at these plates.

Love it. A little disappointed to see that this feature is being paywalled for the faster speeds, but any increase that allows me to get more done in less time is still welcomed.

- Speed up; we will see how the 2x feature will be obtainable (pay 2 use is of course the way all of us are expecting this to be available - maybe another perk feature which is not pay walled by RL money), 1.25x is nice to have but nothing too spectacular of a game changer.
- Auto mode; what's the big difference using Auto mode instead of Auto Clear tickets? 1. Ok, tickets are only available for players who are using the subscriptions. 2. When I get this correctly, Auto mode counts for event points. Auto clearing won't be considered for event points. Right?
- Auto mode AI; this is discussed heavily by community and I can just agree to either put in a feature that allows us when activating Auto to choose the play style (ie moves from left to right / right to left / middle to right then left / middle to left then right / finisher use only when all other moves not loaded / choose mandatory move to be used on every turn) or fix AI to a degree that makes sense (as now AI is not using moves in a very logical way - with exception of using finisher move before everything else all the time)

I am excited for autoplay. It is a wonderful feature in a number of mobile games that have a grinding element. I believe it could really use some tweaks in order to make it better for the playerbase.
*True Autoplay - For certain matches where you want to play the same thing over and over if I turn it on, please let me go ahead and continue to play the same match without me having to come back after every single match and hit restart. This will help with things like grinding events, because I can actually set it and forget it. If you want to go ahead and still have the Capcha, I suppose thats fine. Its a weird add, because if you have autoplay your assumption should be set it and forget it. There isnt that much time difference in me playing a 1 turn grind match vs me hitting autoplay right now (in fact it might be slower), other than I can hit autoplay, do other things that have nothing to do with my phone and then come back and hit autoplay again. It gets the points, but if the goal is a REALLY large amount of matches done (in order to get 300k which would have been 1% of the top prize, I would have had to do 600 match, which .... is a lot of active playing when autoplay is available). Especially when the points are only available in a day.
Animation speed up is awesome. A welcome change.
Ai for autoplay is a little dumb, but if it just would restart I would be able to forgive dumb ai because I would never realize how silly their moves are they are making.
All in all - good effort, but some tweaks could make it even better.

Having the see the auto play for several days, here are my thoughts.
Overall, I love it. I love that I can turn it in or off whenever. It is the only thing that might make me do stipulations, if they stop crashing on me. (They crash on auto too).
what I would love to see is an auto play settings tab for each character. Allow us to set up the move priority and the gem break priority. I understand that we probably can’t stop it from putting snowflake gems at the bottom of the board, but at the very least I would like it to out the snowflakes on the board before hitting the break snowflakes move.

Positive: nice to speed up through matches that are easy
Negative: WHAT WERE YOU THINKING OF LOCKING TWICE SPEED BEHIND A PAYWALL? I know of countless other game who offer that for free and you are forcing players to pay… when I saw that I thought ‘That is so going to blow up in your face when a small fraction of whales will purchase’ and even then, it was for a select period of time
in the end, great idea… but in typical Scopely fashion, they fumble at the one yard line
