In the first turn of the first run of my faction boss sessions this weekend, I experienced a bug where all of my moves didn't run their animations, meaning I could rapidly get off moves and frantically place gems and do damage. It was an exciting, fast-paced change to prior faction battles and even normal gameplay. Then, on the next turn, everything went back to normal.

I somehow hate the mode more now that I got the briefest taste of a way more fun version of the mode.

    • There was actually a lot of format changes in this event, so there's a lot of feedback to be had, but I think the big one is all of the above changes shouldn't have gone through at once, but I like the idea of them in isolation. The set of 24 hour challenges addresses my 'Why should I not play Clash of Champions in SuperCard after Day 1' concern I recently brought up, bringing something new each day, and the change to a 20 level system means that the boss actually scales a lot better, but the reduced time for boss battle meant that trying to choke through the new levels (not helped by the fact that the cap for the general mid-low roster member is still only about 7 or so, the boss damage ramped up quick and I saw a lot of dopes try to force themselves into a lobby only to get KO'd turn one) was a bit of a chore if you aren't in the top 50 and the fact that the blitz was determined solely by your faction's performance in day 1 (of my faction actually hit top 100, but I never got any tickets), to be blunt, phenomenally stupid. Guess I do have a day to spend in SuperCard actually earning a tangible reward for my time!
    • Speaking of factions, man, this was overboard. Practically all of your progress this weekend was dictated by your faction, whether it be by event progress in the day 1 faction contest or blitz, or in terms of playing the main mode with boss battle. I cannot stress how frustrating it is to play boss battle in any situation outside of a dedicated discord call with top ~5% players, and the fact that the faction boss competition apparently wanted you to go up to like 17 or something for each character to get the 'free' rewards meant that missing out of this was even worse than prior battles. Give me the option to play with AIs or an adjusted solo version or something, because I've said it before, I'm not going to turn this game into a full-time job where I have to be plugged into a Line server or something all day just to get yelled at for not doing enough blitzes. Every other WWE mobile game lets you be successful without having to be tied to a team, and faction boss is always going to be a bottom-tier mode for me as long as I have to pray that I happen to be on whenever competent factionmates are for any modicum of progress.
    • Cody himself as a faction boss was... actually pretty even keel, if I'm being real. He had a shield but it was pretty reasonable for one person to handle, meaning the others could be on DPS duty and it wasn't a constant pain in one's side. Boss breakers played a part in things and his other abilities weren't automatic game overs if you ended up in a boss battle without the appropriate breakers, but the breakers did help things out if you had them. Something's gotta be done about defensive characters, though - I still find that they offer little to nothing in terms of boss battle in terms of breakers and general character selection, and trying to get levels for them feels like you're sandbagging the rest of the team for your sake.
    • Related to boss battle, but I regularly had matches where four people went in, but only three connected. There was even one where four went in and only two connected, meaning that things were compounded when someone serving a vital role (i.e. shieldbreaker) just didn't show up. Also didn't help my gripes about getting a good match and working your way up the new levels.
    • Didn't like the second challenge tour that was basically 'Thanks for coughing up 500 bucks per character for the last month', could use for less of those, and I didn't like both the blitz and tours requiring 6-star characters only a few days before talent-up. Rewards were basically all contest points, so I hope you were able to do everything perfectly. And boss battle. And the faction contest. and Blitz. Also, hope everyone in your faction was able to do the same. For 1,000 Cody shards total.
    • The shard loot was a travesty, and that's saying something considering I didn't see a single good pull from the normal loot all weekend. I heard someone say that key pulls would have been worth more, and I have to agree with them because 3SB posters of release characters hold no value to even newer players - key pulls and silver league loot would give them the same utility or in-ring power for less effort or money.

    Cash grab weekend.

Reducing faction boss to just 24 hours, well anyone who played who say meant lots more players playing at condensed time meaning glitches:red rings galore. The faction frenzy could easily have been run at the same time and blitz for That matter as well. Would have left boss for 48 hours.

the loot as well is stupid. I have 200 coins and a pull costs 100 but you have to have 1000 before you can use it.

  • Very disappointing competition as last week's competition.

Solo Points were highly placed at milestones that were impossible for free players to reach.

I tried all month on coins, stipulations and TP events to chase but the last week has disappointed a lot of people.

Feedback for Cody Rhodes Faction Boss Event

    Positives

    • Cody Rhodes finally added to the game... A moment a lot of Cody fans were waiting for. Plus the last character to end the month on a good positive note.
    • Introducing the special loot was nice. Was able to get shards of quite a few characters and also a new character. I think this should be something done once a month.

    Negatives

    • With the amount of craze Cody has generated on his fan base, I'm sure a lot were waiting to splurge on him so probably an opportunity for Scopely to capitalise on. 1500+ shards were advertised for free but with 1 day left I'm only sitting at around 800 or so shards... Also before I forget to add another new character means another weird looking facial model... I honestly feel if you would have designed the character a lot better looking and not hopping around like an ape, you'd probably even get a few more players spending to get an amazing looking character.
    • So onto the Faction Boss, honestly it feels like you're jumping the ship ridiculously fast for majority of your player base. The pace you're moving seem to cater to factions who are considered "heavy spenders" as they obviously have the roster to deal with the level your're increasing the boss but the rest of us are still playing catch-up. Leaderboards easily tells you when you see which faction has already maxed the event and the distance between them and the rest of the other factions.
    • The Faction Boss should not have been reduced to just 24 hours, it needs to be longer as this mode requires 4 people and that's asking a lot of your faction mates to be on at once. When faction fued started you needed 5 and that was quite demanding hence the solution was to reduce this down to 2 vs 2 and that worked well. So please re-consider keeping it to 48 hours to allow the community to get used to this new mode especially if you're going to keep extending the goal post by introducing Level 20 Boss.
    • The Faction Boss gameplay was again very laggy with disconnect issues causing us to lose out on our time as you can see the status saying the game is trying to connect yet the timer on the boss is running so there's nothing we can do in this instance but know that this was a waste of our time and re-start all over again. I've heard a lot of my faction mates and myself included feel like the lag and disconnect screwed us out of completing our faction boss at higher level especially when time is so crucial.
    • Our faction had few people with 6 stars but that's still not enough to place us well or have enough team members to help out with getting us over the line considering most of us were hoping to get "carried".
    • Prizewall was such a disappointment as the offer was only for items you can acquire by maxing the event and we all know that's not possible without any form of spending.
    • Having the blitz require a 6 star sucked and for many of us we couldn't due to this and this puts a lot of people in a dilemma as to whether to pull the trigger or save for upcoming MLC TU that's only couple days out.
    • Why not introduce the shard loot pull starting at 100? I now have 500 coins that says I can make 5 pulls but I can't do so as minimum is 1000. I'm sure this is another one of your ploy to obviously have people spend if they didn't want to float coins so I'll pass and take what I got for free.

Overall, this event wasn't very enjoyable. After the blog post release I was quite excited and thought this would be a much better Faction Boss compared to last month but still continue to be disappointed. Really hope the next one would go back to being 48 hours.

Boss battle was heavily skewed towards top 5-10 factions and a lot of bonus points for the new characters almost nobody has. I am currently in top 3000 in weekend solo contest and only at milestone 11/20. The "free" milestones are not free. The mlc solo points that are desperately needed by many are buried behind a pay wall. As mentioned, it's a bit unfair to have the last event of the month so heavily dependent on your faction. At least in a feud I can max the war score and likely get all the "free" milestones. It makes no sense to drag this contest out until Tuesday with no content available today.

  • Hello.

    My opinion about Nightmare contest:

Cody is the good balanced character. He was good as a Boss. I can beat him with teammates up to level 13 & then he became a real nightmare LOL. Also in the single contest he is super strong. I don’t like that I can’t play Blitz & one of the tours because I don’t have a 6s character yet even I played this game few years every day.

  • He is one of the best paid characters I have had chance he is will worth the money spend. He some great moves recycle fast and is dominant. Thank you for giving a chance at powerful character. Nothing like theory I wouldn't pay a dime for

First and foremost, like all boss battles so far, i am still unable to play this mode on mobile.

Debut character cody: great card art, but the in game model needs serious refinement. Imagine if you saw your own likeness in a game and it was botched disproportionately. I hope you update him and others down the track.

Contests: Whats with the timed events? It should run the weekend. Personally, im already inconvenienced being unable to play on mobile, then with the limited time frame, i need to be at my home pc, but by then the majority of my faction are done with boss battle (i work 8 hour shifts on the weekend, at least if the mode was playable on mobile i could join my faction during my downtime but alas...).

Tours: i keep getting boned with needing a new day css. The other tours were doable. I like the challenge modes, some are difficult, but thats ok, if the challanges could be just open. At least we could all get the one time reward, and the bonus for those that do.

Boss battle: the mode runs decently enough on pc via the portal. Some lag issues but could still play. However, in its intended mode via mobile, unplayable. So far as a personal protest, i havent been spending on the last 3 boss battle events, and ill continue do so, it does not make sense to me to spend money on a broken mode where i feel super inconvenienced. Please fix it.

Loot: spent zero dollars 😃 i feel super proud of myself!! Not a fan of 22 loot pulls for US$99, thats way less value for money. Besides, asking way more for less, and with a hideous character model, have some pride man, polish it up. (Side note: the conspiracy side of me thinks you made him deformed on purpose, to see if people would spend top dollar on an under par product. We know you can make good models, why the hatchet job on cody?)

Overall, i couldve enjoyed the event more, but being unable to partipate fully brings this contests' enjoyment factor to just an average event. 5/10

  • This boss breaker was less fun than the last ones. The breaker itself was harder and if you hadn't a zombie seth or a KO in your team, level 12 or higher was almost impossible.

That's the weakest point in the game actually, a few characters beat everything, all others are just there. I don't play everyday showdown actually as all opponents are just Seth, KO, King Booker or the good street profit I even don't know the name.

As I got no blitz ticket, I skip this part. Tour was ok. This 10 loot coins for 3$ was not worth the money from my point of view, so many bad characters and no one in my faction pulled anything good. This makes the game less interesting at the moment, it's more about generating money than giving the players a good and valuable game experience.

    It was interesting event.

Faction boss is laggy as before, but i didnt had problem with disconnection.

I like that idea with 24h events, you should do it again.

Cody is great character, hope i will get him. Best regards

I'm not sure what to say about this event that hasn't already been said. I can only add to the whining about the Shortened timed events and and the connectivity problems are caused.

I was also disappointed with shard loot pulls. The odds there are just as great as they are with the key pulls. And we all know there's no real winning there.

I also am not a fan of The limited amount of characters that can be used to advance in some of these events. I understand that you do not want the entire world running to these events and advancing. But the odds of getting some of the characters needed for these events are so small, That it's almost cruel that you create these events.

I've played this game every day since it was released. And I will probably continue for a little while longer. However I am becoming increasingly disappointed with how challenging it is becoming. It seems like the game is now geared towards the top 10 factions, and those who are willing to spend big money.

  • Cody pulls in the store gave a relief by seeing some nice posters getting pulled through loot. I had to spend £40 to get some decent posters pulls to build my roster but still I cannot play the limited matches :(

    Worst faction boss.

    Ridiculous low cost pulls.

Strange reward system in faction boss battle.

Worst solution last challenge requires 6 stars superstar.

I can't anderstend, why Rey in this event?

    It doesn't make sense.

    Imbalance new characters-like always.

But other roads can sacess all players and this good idea

I would love to get Cody Rhodes I am a huge fan, and I like the contest and the blitz it’s cool and the superstars you get from the loot is 😎 COOL! It makes the stakes higher to be at the top of the mountain also I feel we should get him like we got Otis for free and work our way up

    Faction Boss

    • Maybe its a lack of understanding on how it works on my part, but Raise the Roof was very underwhelming to me. There is a few great Boss Breakers and (at least so far) a lot of underwhelming ones. Maybe having videos in the blog where you highlight the usage of the Boss Breakers so people aren't as underwhelmed with them, or understand how they work to get the most out of them.
    • New 20 level system seems better and allows more people feel like they are accomplishing more.
    • Overall I did not like the 24 hour time limit versus the normal 48. It is fair to say that the lower time limit benefits more organized factions and players, and maybe that is the intention.
    • Boss Contest Bonuses at level 9 and level 13 for specific characters seemed very fair to me. I like that it wasn't level 15+ which I would typically expect.

    Solo Contest and Tours

    • Tours and contest seemed pretty standard. I'm sure there will be a lot of complaints on the 6 star Req. for the Challenge mode. With it being just one match in Challenge mode it helps to allow the Challenge mode to live up to its name.
    • The cheaper Evo to 6SB for Cody was a neat touch and encourages people to level their new characters versus sitting on them unleveled for an extended period of time. I don't mind this being the norm. There is a huge resource investment for people to take advantage of it.

    Faction Frenzy Contest

    • I was very concerned about this contest but its one of the reasons we should play and experience the events prior to freaking out. I feel like factions could progress if they worked for it. In some case it may be using a 5SG Evo sooner than you would like, or working up a lot in the Legends Era. There was multiple avenues to push this event. It seemed like there was a normal level of factions that max'ed the event so it turned out to be a standard faction event.

    Blitz and Shard Loot

    • I think the 6 star in Challenge mode is acceptable, I thought the 6 Star req for the Blitz was a bit much. When you also are requiring a 5-Star Rey, Dusty, and Randy it seemed overly restrictive I would like this scaled back in the future.
    • Trade in tickets in the store for the shards pulls was a good save system for those that couldn't participate. I didn't get anything worthwhile but overall its something I wouldn't mind seeing with the shard ecosystem in the state its in. Complete Faction events earn bulk shard pulls.
    • Enabling the loot pulls at 100 coin increments would feel better for players. Lowest available pull at the time of this post is 10x1000. Leaving me with 600 coins is not a great feeling as a player.

Another fun filled boss battle weekend. I don’t comment often, but when I do, people still probably don’t listen haha.

    Pros:

    -         Milestone rewards seem to have adequate resources. Mostly being the coins that you earn in each milestone for the contest. Could always use more especially the increased economy of the game. Those are things I focus on most, coins and TP for rewards.

    -         In boss battle, having the shield going up every 3 turns and destroying itself every 2 turns was helpful. That gives us at least one turn to knock out some damage on the boss, rather than endless shield regeneration.

    -         Going up to level 20 was good in boss battle, gives more room for players to play and modify the scaling. (Then see con.)**

    -         Speeding up the boss breaker moves so they take less time on the animation. Great to see the improvement there. (See con)++

    Cons:

    -         Connection issues. Always will be my first con until fixed. It frustrates people the most that sometimes they just quit the event and log back on when it’s over. Starting battles without players, them being left in the lobby. Constant buffering. Losing connection mid battle. I know it is difficult connecting people from across the world onto a server, but other games have managed to do it.

    -         **The scaling from levels 1-20 was off though, low level talent only being able to level 6 or 7 is undesirable, which was no different from previous bosses when it was 10 or 12 levels.

    -         24 hours for the faction contest on Friday should last the whole weekend. Doing that in 24 hours pressed people to make irrational decisions on evolving their roster just days before the next MLC and Talent up event. And people not even having the chance to play to participate. I get there are strings of 24-hour events during the week, we are already conditioned for that. Doing it on the weekend really messed things up. It causes unnecessary stress for people going into weekend thinking they can enjoy real life and then work on the things Saturday and Sunday evenings.

    -         Faction Boss Battle should be 48 hours, at minimum. 24-hour boss battles stresses people out trying to hit milestones and work with the top teammates to achieve those scores. It takes research and coordination to be successful in the boss battles. When we are trying to help others in different time zones, we need more than 24 hours to coordinate. I think 48 hours is the minimum, but should be the whole 72 hours, ideally. You see a lot of “I must get mine” attitude arise from people and constantly reaching out to the top members to help them before the timer runs out. Again, it’s a weekend event, people enjoy playing the game but when it starts being a chore to play, people lose interest quickly.

    -         ++Signature move animations take too long and waste time. These need to be sped up similar to what you did with the boss breaker move animations. I understand that is a finite set of animation to change and are sped up solely for boss battles, but let’s make this modification across the board on all moves. If it is easier to do a select all and it affects the speed in the tours/showdown/blitz too, then do so. Have all the move animations be sped up for the weekend when it is boss battles.

I know there are more cons than pros, but people don’t focus on things when they are right. Just the things that are wrong. The idea of boss battle has come a long way from the initial launch. You guys are almost there, besides the connection issues. I can’t quite put my finger on it to what is missing to make it fun to whatever level you are on. Hmmmm…. maybe try making it like a grind session similar to what you do for showdown and feuds. Beating higher levels repeatedly will reward more points. So, the top can complete the boss battles quicker than others because they can reach the higher levels. But the low-level talent rosters still have a chance at similar rewards if they grind the lower boss levels repeatedly. Maybe an idea.

    Respectfully yours,

The major problems with boss battles are moves taking too long on the animation side, move effects not firing at the end of a turn, connectivity issues (loss of connection and being left in the lobby when a battle starts), lag, lack of replay-ability. What did you change this time out? Added more boss levels, rescaled them, limited the event to 24hrs.

You warn us that we won't get the full payout if team members don't stay connected and then you put in an idle timer so that the first person knocked out might get nothing while they waited. Hello?

These were not improvements. If anything they made the enjoyment factor go down.

Requiring a 6star character for any game mode at this point is asinine.

Other than those unique factors this is just the same boring, poorly designed events you've run all year. Bring back last years format and leave it there. It was far more enjoyable.

The day 1 only faction tour is a terrible way to do weekend events.

Special ticket blitzes while our regular blitz tickets sit and collect dust because you're not willing to design those properly is as foolish an idea as the silver hangers no one can use when they pull duplicate gear. You have too much going on such that no one thing ever gets proper attention.

    Cody

    • Good to see him appear in the game. His character model, particularly the face was below-par. The rest of his presentation was pretty cool.
    • The 6-star Evolve for those who recruited Cody was a nice touch considering the money and resource cost of doing this.
    • The free shards advertised were absolutely not attainable without spending. This just leads to disappointment and distrust.

    Faction Event

    • This turned out to be quite reasonable and the rewards felt pretty well balanced too. The limited timeframe wasn't really an issue because faction members could do their part in a matter of minutes.

    CSS

    • These were too rare and restrictive for my liking. Lots of very recent releases, most of whom were heavily paywalled. Faction boss bonus points were significant, the blitz required a 6-star male, and the tours required a modern 6-star. The modern era requirement was particularly brutal. On the positive side, it did feel like the CSS were mainly tied to reaching BONUS rewards, so that does feel quite reasonable if it was the intention.

    Faction Boss

    • Technical issues really affected my enjoyment this time. In most games I was sat waiting for the game to unfreeze between turns, my boss breakers froze when the timer hit 0, and other boss breakers didn't even function as intended.
    • 24 hours was a huge negative of the event. Given the nature of faction boss where we should strategize and test out different approaches, 48 hours works much better and is far more enjoyable. Given that blitz was 48 hours, surely this could have been switched around?

    Blitz

    • Nice to see something different being tried here. Good that players could cash in their ticket if they couldn't blitz. Rewards were helpful in terms of solo event points and shards. Nice addition to finish off a weekend event.

Overall i would consider this an okay event, not great but not the worst.

    Positives-

The ability to cheaply make a 6s is a bonus for both the player and for scopely. This allows us to get benefit from an early recruit and allows you to make more from shard/resource sales at the same time. This is a win/win situation.

The shard loot was very interesting for resources and fuses but i did not like that ending with 300 currency meant i could not make a 3 pull.

Boss was okay and seemed to allow for lower level rosters to participate which is a plus.

    Negatives

The tours were extremely restrictive. requiring a high amount of relatively new cards was a poor choice. The worst choice though was requiring a 6s modern. Actively punishing people for choosing a different era or a female wasn't the best choice of restrictions.

The blog listing faction shard max under the free shards gave a more positive picture of available shards then the actual event would allow for 99% of the player base.

Shardless main loot and extremely limited shards in the shard loot were not a good combination.

This event had a solid foundation but appeared to lack in the big picture for alot of people. I would like to see future releases allow 6s in the first 5-6 days. I would also like slightly less restrictive tours. This event structure can be grown upon and made better for sure though.
