Fire Gem

Scopely Dev Team,

I have a suggestion for a new gem, the Fire Gem. As the Snowfall Gem has the Pyro Gem, the Frozen Gem needs a counterpart, the Fire Gem. This is also to help fight against the very annoying King Booker T, who is the flavor of choice when it comes to Showdown Defenses. Many don't want to fight him because it turns into a 15-minute battle ending with a loss many of the times since he continuously freezes the board.

Back to the Fire Gem: It's ability is it burns up opponent's gem modifiers on a gem. The main idea is to counteract the frozen/trap gem board from King Booker T, but it can be used to burn up any of the opponent's gem modifiers (frozen, pyro, snowfall, reinforce, multiply, immobile, trap, juggernaut, blast, etc.) If a gem doesn't have a gem modifier, it then breaks the gem. For example, you make a move the generates 15 random fire gems, if it lands on an opponent's modified gem it burns up the modifiers (the gem stays) and if it lands on a gem without a modifier, it burns the gem (breaks the gem).

    Nice idea but unfortunately they scaled the numbers on Booker to a ridiculous extent so unless you had 49 fire gems to unfreeze all of his freeze gems and all the traps, you’d still end up with the same situation again and again.

    There’s a lot of ways to beat Booker quickly though, and as more people figure them out, we’ll see him used less and less just like zAustin way back.

    Thanks for the suggestion, I do agree with IRL that it would pretty much be a niche use for a poster or two but any additional game strategy is always welcome.

    I believe pyro gems will trigger over freeze gems. but that may have been a bug. and you'd need to drop them which is hard with booker turning the board into traps
