Question RE : Changes to Web Coins and Trivia Energy
Comments
-
As always, Scopely detonating the benefits of those who don't spend in the game, this change that they are going to implement is absurd, it's just so that we can spend, even those who spend, it won't be worth it, why that?? and the hours I spent playing Trivia researching, and trying to get as many hits as possible, that's pure selfishness on the part of Scopely to make a cut as drastic as this, yeah just to discourage us from doing the Trivia so that they don't lose out, it was a way for agents to try to get good characters, because in loots and cash loots, it's practically impossible, what do they want is to fill their pockets, the good thing for them is for a person to spend tons of dollars or reais, to get just one character, you should think about these changes well, instead of bringing them closer, you will push the players away, I myself thought several times about stopping for not having good characters, but as last month I had access to winning good fighters, it gave me an extra boost, but you with this change, think carefully before launching this new webmarket with these limits, there were these accounts again, these rubies that you give us could be exchangeable with Webcoins, don't do that Kill another cool event to help the players, you guys already took the global event, hope you don't let us down!!!
1 -
I agree! this is ridiculous, many of us don't spend it, and yet you practically force to spend a fortune on this game
5 -
LAAAAAMEEEE!!! I'll be spending the next 48hours on trivia since that be the case instead of the lousy mid week showdown.

Although some changes were needed the solution proposed by Scopely would just kill the feature. Some middle ground should be sought. Let us hope they are getting the feedback provided in the many posts about the subject in this forum 🤞
3 -
To those that have inquired. There are no plans to remove energy you have already saved
7 -
now we answer ourselves: when can we spend web coins on something worthwhile? when will the Flash Market return? or will not come back?????
1 -
Don't come at us talking about maintaining a healthy economy when the game is run by a horde of clueless people who believe 50 shards of Acrobat Sami Zayn and 10 shards of Killian Dane are worth 300 rubies and that it is perfectly fine. Spare us the steaming manure. You just messed up being too generous last month and now believe going too hard the other way would appease some of the people hoarding large amounts of rubies who bawled in your inboxes. You've already proved you're incapable of being competent or thoughtful. At least be honest. Maybe then you'll get an ounce of respect.

I can't be the only one hesitant to do anything after this answer.
There is a difference between "no plans to", and "no way they will", "remove energy"...
2 -
it's absolutely ridiculous - Trivia and Web Market is dead with these "changes" - very stupid from Scopely... But they never cared about the community - not at all -.-
5 -
True, when the community benefits from something moderately good, Scopely appears as a super villain, ending any hope.
Please Scopely amazingly "Listen to your global gaming community" that will help improve the game and recruit new users.
I normally make small purchases, some loot coins, backstage, among others, but I am not in the economic capacity to spend thousands of dollars monthly, but as things go I will see myself Forced to spend even less now. And surely there are many with the same thought...
There are many things to improve in the game and they are leaving it aside, just to limit the benefits of the community.
2 -
I would like to ask then when will these awful changes roll out. I truly loved it last month but this month with these changes you just created a whole storm for yourself. Kudos to that then. *cheers*
1 -
You must be new to games. Free-to-play games that are good always make money. Look at fames like Fortnite, overwatch, and League of legends to name a few. These games do not required heavy spending and they do fine
2 -
Wow... that's a big slap to the face of your community, scopely. But ok, anything else would have surprised me. I hardly doubt that another change will come as this company is not at all listening to its community... why should they, there seem to be still enough players out there who are spending way too much money on a game like this which somehow is confirming every money grabbing decision scopely is doing as people are still willing to follow along.
I can understand that flash market has to be nerfed but... ah... I guess all on this topic was already written here.
so, will spend the coins / energy I still have and then will continue to ignore the flash market again. Well done!!!
2 -
so badly will they leave the trivia and the flash market that they are not able to announce a return date? why with scopely everything seems to be improvised and unmeasured? where are the creators of the game? oh yes they are doing copy and paste to the MLC

I'm sure this'll get swallowed up in the chaos, but the changes are also bad because in fixing the monthly web coin shop problem, it just harmed other ways of using web coins - the daily offers in the web coin shop, IOW Charlotte, and the cosmetics that are so insanely priced and underutilized that at this point I'm not even going to mention them going forward. Kneecapping web coin amounts means that it's just all the harder to get those rewards which were balanced under the old system, and the bump in webcoins for purchases just means that the solution is to apparently pay the guy who busted my kneecaps more actual money, to keep up with the analogy.
If the monthly web coin market was the issue, then the solution had to adjust the monthly web coin market - not web coins themselves. If the issue was people were getting resources at a rate that actually let them keep up with all the events that are put out, then make adjustments to make these more difficult to get. The most common solution proposed was 'Jack up the prices to hell and back', but honestly I would have thought it better to focus on rerolls. After all, the markets only work as unlimited resource machines because of rerolls.
As such, I would feel that the best way to tackle this would be to either bump up the cost of rerolls across the board or, ideally, just put limits on how many rerolls can be used at a time. The system in place already allows for free rerolls after a certain amount of time, why not have it so that once you reroll you can't do so for another four/six/eight hours? It limits resources coming in while also ensuring it isn't an awful grind to get any resources you get, and it doesn't make everything in the web coin shop a giant pain to purchase overnight.
In short, I have to agree that even past the idea of Scopely having to make money and keep things up is ultimately expected but the solution that came to light was another overcorrection to something that players enjoyed. In this case in particular, it even creates more problems for the players compared to pre-monthly web coin shop, continuing the trend of problems that likely aren't going to be fixed because most of the time the intended solution is "Pay up".

That is a great idea! Having the change be limitations to the amount of rerolls. I like that idea.

wow what a lot of selfish players you lot are bitching and whining about this.
it’s not like we don’t have out of date tours , a KoK pass that is so outdated it’s unreal , a vip blitz that is not worth you time doing, leagues that don’t update fast enough, MLC’s that are copy and paste monthly, yearly . Weekly contests that are spend & spend some more ( let’s really promote that healthy economy) , a loot system that is over priced and shocking!!.
i like most have been playing this game since day one and spent way more than I should for really bad loot pulls and last month i finally felt it had been worth it and that you guys did the right thing for your loyal players .
How wrong was I it’s amazing that you can do things to help yourselves so fast but to actually sort the game out you do nothing or take ages .
2K games messed up on WWE 20 took a year off and made the new game amazing for the players that pay good money for there product . What do you do turn around and say screw you we care about the top 200 spenders and the rest of you can struggle and get nothing for it .
But without us there is no game!!
And people are right they won’t read this or care about this or us they prove that week in week out .
And now I am at the point where I am thinking is this all worth it any more .

Scopely always: "please tell us your constructive feedback about..."
Also Scopely: "we don't give a crap about the community..."

Funnily enough, I cancelled my subscription the month before last out of frustration for poor odds and the game becoming a total cash grab.
when they updated the flash market and I finally started to enjoy the game again, I was considering resubbing, but I wanted to wait to see what the nerf would be.
well, scopely have outdone themselves. Safe to say I won’t be resubbing and I’m unlikely to be spending anymore on this game. What’s the point? Resources are nearly impossible to get, pull odds are shocking and when you do get a new card at the rate in which they pump new characters into the game your newest top tier card is now absolute trash.
it’s like a weird social experiment on how to kill a otherwise successful game.

Please, please do not ruin the flash market and tame it down to shards for players that are completely worthless in the game. I really like the way it was on the first run (including the solo points) with maybe a few more additions, possibly in-game cash also.
If anything, it's creating a better balance, otherwise those who are willing to spend tons of money (not everyone can afford that) have a competitive advantage and they still do since they have a better chance of pulling newer stronger players. This way at least others have some chance of increasing strength and making the game more enjoyable.

5 per day is RUBBISH. Just keep the energy rate at the current state, but cap coin gain from trivia per day to 1000/1500 or whatever. That will throttle the paid farmers(yes, they exist), while still allowing people to play it the normal way/make honest mistakes/get hit by the "spell Ricochet, oh, and two of the answers are 'Ricochet'. Good luck figuring out which one we want."
3 -
You're right about that. Alundra was an awesome chase character and I actually put money into the game for the first time in a while because the flash market actually gave me a fighting chance at keeping up with the ridiculously spiralling costs of coin/evo events. Then they release this new Becky, whose trap gems are RIDICULOUS. 63k per trap gem. NO SAVING THROW. NOTHING REDUCES THIS DAMAGE. Sorry, but this is just BS. Trap gem damages need to start getting affected by Move and/or Gem damage reduction. Reminder, trap gems can hurt the enemy AT ALL TIMES. Someone moved the decimal point too far to the right for Becky's trap gems.

So is there any update as to when these updates are going to be done? Players hear day after day that the change is coming but nothing happens. When are these "healthy economic changes" going into effect? And when is the web coin flash market going up? There is only two more days (outside of today) for it to go up to be considered "in week 2" like the blog post states, so players would be appreciative of a lot more communication from the moderators/developers as to when things are expected to be changed/put up, whether that communication come on here or through social media.

We are waiting, no justification, no updates, nothing!!!So I say, game players and fans be damned, we don't deserve to know anything, we're not important to them!!! Unfortunately we have to wait without knowing anything!!

It will be tomorrow now at the amazing new event launch . And the blog will lay out all the new BS that is dropping. The mods and management don't care they have proven that time after time

15 whole web coins per dollar spent! Oh happy day! Now I can spend $33 instead of $166 to get 500 web coins. I know the decision makers think this is a generous compromise but it's a kick in the teeth to most players after last month. They can't give us something that cool only to rip it away and expect us to be happy about them wanting us to spend more money.
P.S. none of my anger is directed at the mods I know you guys are just the messengers.

I can understand they want to make changes to the trivia system. Buying unlimited energy packs for people to play trivia all day long and amassing large sums of web coins is something I can understand that Scopely wants to avoid. But the solution could be so much simpler...just remove the energy packs from the store. That way everyone can play a maximum of 3 trivia's every 2 hours and 15 minutes. In my opinion this would be a good balance to limit the amount of web coins people can gather, and still being able to provide players good rewards.
