What are the fixes to the swipe plates?

I watched on Mherex daily news the subheading swipe plates fixed, however he probably forgot to elaborate on it. If anyone knows what the fix was and kindly explain, I would appreciate it.

You no longer have to "Swipe" a match in order to trigger the plates.

Sweet. Thank you. Now I just have to wait a month so I can use the plate on a character I'm wanting to try.

they now do exactly what the description says, destroy gem any way will work, destroy move, swap, match etc

I saw the thread. It was just an offhand comment. I was keen to experiment with a character but remembered I had to wait. I've put my support on that thread.
