ALL-NEW GRAND TOURNAMENT

Worst event ever. Seriously, I wonder what he was thinking. Pathetic rules, inappropriate system balance, and events that do not take into account the value of individual precious time.

Last night I logged onto twitch for the first time ever, To check this out. I gl to find out that the contest became a “who will loop the no pinbar move for the most hours straight” contest.
Talk about the biggest time suck / waste of time I have ever seen.

Spent less than 20 bucks the first weekend in 3 years because this idea and implementation was so poorly done I'm disenfranchised by it and you can't even code the thing right. Thanks for finally giving me a reason to not spend.

I'm not as negative on the grand tournament as others; there is definitely potential for a cool mode/event if some changes are made to future editions.
The restriction on playing this round only once when literally every player knew there would be crashes was incredibly poor planning. All you need to do was watch the Mherex stream to see everyone knew what was coming. Why not consult some experienced players for advice before rolling out these events?
I avoid using zHHH or Cesaro for their respective stipulation tours nowadays because I invariably crash at least once during those matches and I don't want the headache of replaying and opening support tickets. Why run an event that you know isn't going to run smoothly?

merging this with the feedback of the grand tournament where it should be

Spamming a no pinbar move for hours has got the be the stupidest thing ever. What’s the point. What are people proving? It’s flawed in every level. Completely broken.

Most of what I had to say has already been said. But this weekend was a hard pass for me, and this tournament was a complete waste of time and effort. I don’t want to watch other people play this game, especially for hours of someone doing the same repetitive thing over and over. No matter if they’re normally entertaining or not, this is just torture. Poor execution and no fun.

As mentioned by some others on various platforms here’s some things that could have made this mode much more interesting:
*Much like a trial character, provide all players with whatever unique character you wanted them to be able to use for the mode AND their needed trainers/enforcers.
*Do not allow props
*This would allow every player play on a level playing field to see who was the best player at the mode. Not, who has the most characters/resources to put them at an advantage. There would be much more excitement if a virtually unknown player upset someone already known as a top player.
*Rewards: Rather than only 16 players getting these rewards. Here would be a situation that could be more beneficial for the community. The overall winner get a top unique prize as they obviously should. Outside of that one prize, when players who did not make the tournament use their favors/picks in the tournament, let those 16 remaining players represent the players who favored/picked them in earning quality rewards.

This event was probably the biggest screwup in the history of the game and that’s saying something.
extremely limited number of players qualify.
then the coding is screwed up because whoever decided which tour to use didn’t know the game well enough to keep contestants from using someone with a no pin bar move and the matches could go so long that the game freezes.

I know a lot of people didn't like this but I did. It was new and fun to watch people figure out strategies etc. definitely room for improvement like time limits or making it be a character that can't loop etc.
But the determining factor can't be that the game crashed and oh well, too bad so sad, your score doesn't count and you are locked out of that node. It isn't like only one person crashed, we're talking half the field. And looking at the scores it just looks like some of the players suck, but they lost the ability to do hell mode so therefore are super restricted on points.
Come on Scopely, you can do better and should for all the hard work these players put into this. Watching Mherex crash with over a billion points is horrible. He's a true gentleman and not mad but I am and it wasn't even my game. MattSabre etc all these players crashed and basically got told we can't fix it.
Honestly, this makes me more upset than any other issue, which there are a lot, as it is in your control what happens and players in the tournament are getting screwed.

you couldn't buy your way into more runs, it was the 3 free that you could get and that was it.

Matches that last longer than any wwe match ever. And spamming a no pinbar move is the most pointless thing anyone could ever do. besides watching someone else do it.
The player base has really jumped the shark if this is what passes as a competition now.

I basically think this is great...gives me time off as the top 16 fight it out. I don't even need to think about spending money on a worthless event like this....win/win....LOL
Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

Idea of the Grand Tournament was cool. Even the portal experience with the favors and pick 'em were a good addition.
I don't like the fact the favors affect the score - the favors should just give a cool skin affect or additional prize for the winner. 5% bonus score on such huge numbers is defining, especially when you are talking about the top players. Like how pro players need to include 1% calculations in their strategies (I get it).
I agree with most of the people here on the no pin bar characters used for the event. This is definitely a turn off, though I like watching a good chess game... I can understand the viewership response here.
All in all - great first attempt, could use much tweaking. I don't want to see these go away as I find it is a great way to bring the community together on twitch. I see our content creators have a lot more active viewers, and I'm sure it brings a new avenue of marketing to the WWE champions arsenal.
Love to see what this idea morphs into in the coming events!!

I participated in the event. I got marquee coins. I didn't qualify for the next round and my interest stopped there. This is not something that excites me to follow as a player. But congratulations on whomever that wins.
Edit: my suggestion that would interest me. For context I also play league of legends. On their worlds pick'em they don't ask for money to pick. You can just make your picks for that bracket and if you get all of them right, you can move on to the next stage of picks. The person (s) with all correct picks wins a skin pack for X number of characters for example. Web coin and rubies is hardly an incentive for me to continue participating in this tournament. Let alone paying to make picks/favours.

congratulations, you made a tournament no one cares about.
congratulations, you made a tournament that, very unexpectedly, is won by the person who spends enough every month to feed entire village in some places for a year.
in short, 0 respect from me.
