State of the Game

I want to say.
The way you currently have the game set up has made me completely check out. There is little interest or objective in playing for hours, to obtain 1/3 of a character, who I cannot complete the next objective without. Your ingenuity and competitiveness for this platform has absolutely stalled. It seems your only goal is to produce a Superstar week after week that bests the last. There is such a staleness to this game, that you are even now, losing your whales. I know two, just today, that hung up their hat. This game used to be about bringing people together thru the week to push on a weekend, having fun, trying to best both buddies and opposition, but together. It then became about working together and achieving a goal. You have dropped the ball on this. What used to be, push for the team, became, hit your 1% - let's raise the bar - to, it's first come first serve to score points, or spend. And now, it's simply, spend to succeed. And log in to do your chores to keep your place. You are absolutely 100% flat in keeping your players engaged. It's the people who keep other people, and you are just shitting on all of them.
What I would change.
Bring back excitement around an event, or feud. Not a character, a new approach, team oriented. It doesn't necessarily need to be a new game mode. Just a revamp on the existing.
Bring out a new mode, (hint - this doesn't even need rewards!) Something like a practice ring. Where we can go against our teammates and try different move sets, medal setups, etc, with no hp penalty.
I know you are releasing a new Grand Tourney. Of which all of 16 players will participate. You've checked out a majority of your base before it's begun. The new team mode has potential. But if it's 4 people doing a titan style blitz for 100k coins and 100 tp, you may want to add a twist. Otherwise you are adding a dollar store toy, that will be played with for a day, then forgotten about. Perhaps a game boost similar to feud for the highest scoring group, or create leagues that give them a sd advantage.
Right now, it's literally log in to keep my streak, claim the daily free things, maybe do a blitz or a tour. It's boring, and a chore. The weekend events I can do the tour, and skip, since I don't push solo.

We appreciate feedback like this. lets see what others think.

Also customer support / Dev Team has to get better at help players with game glitches, game crashes, game issues instead of just blowing it off and closing the issue. We just wanted to be treated fairly and quickly not wait 3 - 4 after the issue then to be told ..we can't help you or there is nothing we can do or we have forwarded to the team ( and you wait and wait for a resolution and all you get it we have close the issue with solving it ) . it's not fair or right. This costs players milestone or sometimes a superstar. If it's glitches that's on scopely not the players .. we should be at least compensate or rewarded for the issue. Especially if we are waiting 3 - 4 days after an event or issue..

I'm with Sissa 100%. I've been playing this game for a long time. It used to be fun. The only reason I still play is the people I've met and the friendships I've gained along the way. Something needs to be done, and be done soon, or many more will quit playing.

For the love of God stop releasing new people every week. I have waaaay more than enough to work on for a long while. Slow the pace a bit, and lower the coin and tp costs for events. And the t-shirt costs for things. You swung the pendulum way too far back this month.
21 -
Also PLEASE give us something to spend our silver and gold gear hangars on. And another inventory clear out.

Definitely agree with everything written here. It's become monotonous and like a chore now. There's new bugs everyday and the CS does not help on time. If there's any issues on weekend events, there's no way to get it fixed since more than half of the team has their offs on weekend.
We do not need new game modes. We need the old ones to get better. Revamp them with better rewards - not necessarily with coins or tp, there's tons of other stuff that ppl cud be excited for. Give them guaranteed T5 medals or rare gears to grind as rewards, now that's something I'm definitely interested in.
Finding the things important to the playerbase is the key to getting this game back to old glory imo. Pls do that scopely!

I will add/echo, that the money grab plus the time suck is insane. In order to be competitive, not only must you spend time, but money. That is insane to me. Ask for one or the other within reason not both to a level that says this gane is now my life. For Fued doing a reset at 3 am makes me stay up to an ungodly hour to try and max an event only to find without the special characters or loot lottery I don't come close. I have become disenchanted to say the least, and that (plus the undisclosed odds lottery loot pulls) have made me stop soending beyond the minimum to keep my faction place. Now that I was demoted because I didn't have special characters, I am on the verge of just showing up and saying whatever. Get your shit together, innovate and grow, don't fleece and plunder both time and money.
14 -
this is absolutely true...this month was a 100% over-correction.
And, as Sissa said, these new "contests" do nothing but further alienate your base.
What happened to the days when every weekend and mid-week contest was different?
Blitzes for resources? Faction vaults to earn new characters, gears, and resources? Contest prizewalls with coveted gears, characters, etc that were actually somewhat attainable?
It seems lately that we get the same contest over and over again, where even if you max the milestones, you end up with 2/3 to 3/4 of a new character...what's the point of that to 80% of your player base?
For a while it felt like you guys were trying, and idk what has changed since then, but it certainly doesn't feel like that anymore.

+1 what sissa said
I now only play whilst multi tasking on the computer, the game barely holds my attention for longer than half an hour otherwise.
The game is just a formulaic cash grab with no creativity which preys on addiction and sunk cost fallacy. I cancelled all my subscriptions and will likely quit soon if nothing changes.

This game has just become so repetitive as of late. Weeklong blitz that’s boring, weekend event where we will come up hundreds of shards short unless we are willing to spends hundreds.
it would be nice to see some changes to the current game modes and not see new modes that will only reach out to your top 16 players.
It would be nice to bring back the grinding part to actually earn decent rewards like superstars or rare gears.
15 -
I agree with Sissa for sure.
Instead of releasing new characters every week (which we've been told is usually weeks of planning), it would go a long way to work on the connection errors/glitches that occur when someone has a reliable internet source but can't participate because of red rings. This has been an issue for quite some time for many players in the community.
Additionally, although not specific to this event, it does seem to be the way the game is progressing, where the weekend faction events don't necessarily correlate to either 1) the need for factions to work together, or 2) the event that the weekend is supposed to be. (example: This weekend was a feud weekend, but the faction event does not take into consideration someone's desire/ability to grind and feud). As a result, there isn't much incentive from players to actually participate in the feud. Similarly, Showdown events are all about collecting shards of the weekend character, not necessarily participating in the Showdown event (yes, I know participating in the SD event gives points towards the solo event that will give you shard bags. But you can just as easily spend $$ on loot without doing a single showdown match).
Adding onto what Sissa posted above, I think it would go a long way to have a more collaborative gameplay that encourages working together with the other members of the faction, and not simply just for getting rewards. Not to bring up a game style that has been obsolesced for a while, but Invasions brought this type of team work/strategy to the table. To some extent, so did the 4x4 type of faction feud matches, although that would likely cause more connection errors than already exist.

Game is getting to event heavy, making players have to play the game everyday in order to accomplish something. Take away some event and make others more important/meaningful. Also, support responses take way too long.

After reading the blog regarding the new ‘grand tournament’ I have already relegated myself to the fact I’ll never get the chance to participate beyond the stipulation tour. With only the top 16 qualifying that instantly turns off 99% of the playerbase. The 16 players who can dedicate 5 hours to leaderboard on a stipulation tour will qualify. This doesn’t mean the best players qualify. It basically means who ever can repeatedly do the same combo of moves over and over will win. Whilst the rewards do look fantastic I definitely won’t be wasting my time chasing a lost cause. In regards to @Sissa’s post i totally agree with everything. The game is copy and paste week after week. We don’t need a new character each week where we get 2/3 of the shards and that’s it for another year. With straps and gears being such an important part of the game having them as more of a focal point would freshen things up as event rewards.

I agree with many comments already mentioned. The pay to play aspect is crazy. Every week you add a new superstar and often the only way to obtain said character is pay pay pay some more. Most of us only stay because we enjoy our faction but the game is stale and boring. Rinse repeat. If you put in the grind, milestone and characters should be attainable. Not only by dumping tons of cash into pulls which are a gamble and rarely pay out. Those who don’t pay for pulls get left behind by not getting that new powerhouse character that beats everyone and is needed to progress.
i don’t mind spending for the free character upgrades but this new character a week has to stop. It’s too much and is driving lots of players away. New characters are fun but the excitement is gone because there are too many. The game has other issues you need to focus on.

I would like to highlight some points that need to be addressed:
1) Releasing 6 New Superstars a month is a joke (not everyone is willing to spend $10k a month on a game)
2) The game has become so pay to play now, how is it meant to be enjoyable for any new players?
3) The addition of the new Road Tours were welcomed, but they’ve been completed and could do with a reset or new tours to be added.
4) The Chase Superstar is welcomed at 5SB and 3000 Shards to recruit, but the shards should be more readily available and not have a price tag attached to them. Also on this point, it’s been noticed that by completing the Month Long Solo you will receive the Chase at 3SG, this should be 4SB at least.
5) The blitz at the beginning of the month is a joke, requiring the Free Superstar at 4SB to complete Hell Blitz is understandable, but forcing people to purchase the 3 Star Fuse Pack to take part in the Hard Blitz is unacceptable to be fair.
6) Requiring a New Superstar each week to compete needs to be either changed/removed as a requirement, or the odds of being able to recruit or pull said Superstar drastically needs to be improved (even if only at 1SB).
7) While Showdown Tournaments did for a while took 2 steps forward, they then took a u-turn and took 10 steps backwards. We as the user base should not be forced to spend an obscene amount of money to be able to compete, it takes the fun out of it.
8) Getting onto Feuds! What is the use of forcing people to use the Fuse Steps? They spoil the whole dynamic of the game. Whales just spend money to get obscene feud scores and make it impossible for people in other factions to compete! The whole point of this aspect of the game is to make sure people are on an even playing field and not make it easier for pay to play whales.
I think that should cover all the areas that there are serious issues for now.

Agree with all comments above. I too feel like i just log in daily to do stipulation, sd, tours when up and done.
Biggest thing with me is i am a grinder and medium spender. Would like more things to be based off me grinding my butt off for me and my team.
Fueds- have become solo events. Nothing i do really help faction except leaderboard. When in top factions those rewards not really worth grind go motivate entire faction. Why diesnt fued score contribute to faction contest
Showdowns- again no real push for faction to work together. What happened to sd coins contributing to faction success. Back in the day we all watched out for each other and made sure we had everyone above final notoriety. It took teamwork. Now you have added loot coin competition?? So main solo is easily maxable but rewards are uninspiring. Back in the day i could grind and spend a little and max. Now i will grind and spend NOTHING.
MLC- as mentioned before so many points based on 1st come first served. So when most of us are working things are maxed. Change this to certian number per person not faction so we can all contribute. What other ways besides AWEFUL BORING blitzes can we do to work as a team.
Blitzes- Everyone HATES blitzes. Replace blitzes with some other method. Maybe grind tours for keys in loot or maybe a week long sd with keys intead of sd coins
KOK & VIP- Im embarassed to even admit i still have membership. WHY???? they are not top tier and KOK tour and blitz is WORTHLESS at this level. Why havnt these items scaled.
Diamonds and Headliner- when is last time anyone needed or wanted these. Again needs scalled for 5s tokens maybe 5s medals or gears
Silver & gold loot- we have everyone in there. WORTHLESS. Change these up monthly and give us a reason to use them. Holding mine for next level or update

I love the feedback given here, I agree with a lot of this. The game does get quite monotonous. It is a monthly grind, and very much a continued sort of routine that gets a bit painstaking at times.
A few things I'd like to see change include the hangers for the gear, would be nice to be able to spend them on any gear I want, I already know it's going to be far too restrictive when the shop does come up, for example the medal shop should certainly have all the medals in the game available.
I think the rewards for the events and stages are about 2-3x less than what they should be, a global reward increase - i.e. coin and to rewards for stages, token and shard rewards from bags or milestones, current pull rates for characters, and items from purchase, all about 2-3x higher than they are currently.
I would also like to see the events more evenly weighted across the milestones, I understand that there should be a slightly higher reward for the upper tiers like the 3s chase card in the top milestone, but if the event gives out a total of 150 shards for example, I think that after finishing 10 of the 15 milestones, you should have 100 shards.
I am also on the side of far too many new characters too frequently, no incentive to use the ones we currently have or try to find other innovative ways to use them, I do think this can be helped by reworking the current modes like mentioned above, updating characters like was done with rocky miavia for example.
A lot of the time it feels like very little care is put into the maintenance of the game and it's getting very cut and paste. What I mean is the ongoing issues there seems to be at the beginning of an event - like how the loot this week had zombies unleashed prize wall coins as rewards for pulls, how the talent up always seems to have problems, this week how the newest daily events in the revenge tour are showing up in the middle of the event rather than the bottom, gauntlet blitz errors for example. It feels like almost daily there's a new thing, and I hate to see it. I see similar things in other games I have played and given up in the past, and it worries me.
Don't get me wrong, I still like this game, but I am definitely getting those early warning signs that it's becoming less fun for me. There are a lot of other things I want to mention, but I don't want to overwhelm and dump it all out right now. Maybe tomorrow lol.
Thank you for the work you are doing and taking the time to listen to these concerns, obviously I am very little expectation for what might end up changing, but I am very much looking forward to seeing what comes of this.

This is all so true! I’ve stopped spending at all as a matter of principle. Even if I wanted to, ir is against my morals to perpetuate this greed and monotony. Player since beta… no self demoting with an eye to finally quit.

So 1st of all. I agree with everything said. I have been bitten with a bad customer service issue at least 3 separate times. If it happened one more time. I am indeed done with this game for sure. Has cost me rewards, a character, and pulls. All solutions were handed but only 1 was before an event ended and they had 4 days to handle it.
This game has been fun for a long time. Now, it seems like every week a new person is released. Only to be outdone by next weeks released person to come. The last few months were fairly tough to cruise thru but if you did all the coin/evos, tp events, showdown, fued, blitz. You got the mlc done. This new month with everything raised up about 30% has been a nightmare. We aren't getting enough resources to replenish what we are using.
Now it seems that every time we log in there's a new bug. It's become more of a chore to just log in so we can keep our streak going. No new things need to be be added to the game. Just some things need to be revamped indeed. Bring on Invasions again. They were team based and strategic planning but were something different. Also your tag team elimination matches are fun. Why not do more of those. How about maybe elimination of perks or a more permanent perk system?
Just things to think about.

Bring back weekly mixed and female tag leagues.
4 -
Definitely agree with the OP.
*The game definitely feels more like chore than fun. (More so if you unable/unwilling to spend)
*Too many character releases. (please slow it down).
*It is very discouraging when you put in the necessary work and your progress gets blocked by a paywall.
*The grind has always felt it outweighs the reward.

My opinion as a casual player
Things I like. I like that the old free to play players are being used more to help complete monthly tours as the bonus character instead of all the bonus characters being only rare people that few have. I like that resources seem to be more easily obtained. I've been able to level up my own roster more easily since right before 5SG dropped. I enjoy the ability of being able to obtain or nearly obtain new characters without having to spend lottery winnings. I like that if I put in the effort and complete the tours, maybe spend a little, I can easily obtain the 3SB version of chase character at least each month
Things I hate. I hate the occasional character release that is opposite of above where the only way to even get a few shards is by spending lottery winnings. Why have an event for a character where not a single shard can be obtained through normal play? I hate that a lot of gears seem to be highly unobtainable and I have no use for the crap ton of gear chips I have. I hate the random glitch I've been getting for months where moves or props can't be interacted with and all I can do is swipe gems or force quit and lose all my health either way. I've had to message support about this issue numerous times. I've noticed it less lately but even earlier today I had it happen. I also do hate that the game grows stale after a while and I need to take a two month break before coming back to see if anything has changed or to chase an MLC I really want.
It would be nice to have some new modes to dabble with..either solo or team oriented. Which would breath some life into the game. Maybe some strategy oriented tours or game modes. Make more use of the odd ball move sets. Revamping some of the old characters to make them more viable would be nice too. The game has changed so so very much since the 3 star days that most of those characters are barely useful outside of the needed trainers.

What about adding steels stairs and chairs?
And about adding a new match type
"STEEL CAGE"
Rule will be very simple..
Superstars can win either by normal pinfall or submission inside the ring as usual we play.. that's all...
But also can win by coming out of the steel cage and a superstar will come out as soon as when his opponent is in danger.. Once his opponent comes in danger(0 health) he will fall down... and the other will come out of the steel cage automatically.
Example: If Kane & Otis are having a feud... Kane used a normal move or finisher on Otis and his health reached zero(danger) then he will fall and struggle to get up and Kane will slide his way to out of the cage through the steel cage door...

Bring back Invasion and revamp the KoK tour- prizing is outdated. Dx Vault has an option to boost. Why hasn't it ever been used? Newer players cant catch up to Vault level 24. It would take them three years and still be behind without boost activated.

I agree with many of the points raised, and although I may repeat some of them, these are my major issues with the game currently:
1) Locking the ability to do the hard level of the first blitz of the month behind a paywall is honestly pretty gross. I understand paywalling hell, but forcing people to grind easy unless they pay is just ridiculous.
2) The game is in a serious copy and paste rut. 6 character a month, blitz first and third weeks, showdown first and third weeks, regular feud second week, flash feuds forth week, etc. This is a major factor is the game feeling stale and people falling off.
3) Minor complaint: Unless there is some long term plan for them, adding a useless item to further clutter the inventory when you max the monthly solo event seems...dumb
4) What happened to to the option to get character shards or even gears with the monthly event (t-shirt) currency? Everyone liked this, so why was it removed?
5) The milestone currency increase for TP and coins for the current MLC is flat out ridiculous. A increase was fine, but it was scaled way out of control.
6) No offense, but this new grand tournament is a big fat nothing for 99.9% of the player base. People want to play things to progress toward rewards for themselves and their faction. This is an "event" where people will "compete" to be told their roster isn't good enough when they knew that already going in. Then they got to wager on other people they very likely don't know or care about. This seems like a giant miss to me.
7) Loading. Loading during feuds is insane and has been a problem for years. There is absolutely no excuse why this is still acceptable
8) IOW characters cost the same coins and TP as every other character in the game, it's past time to add some value to their tokens for evolving/enhancing.
Credit where credit is due, the sim daily's with the multiplyer is one of the best things the dev team has ever done for the players.

I knew this game was going down the drain when I did last weeks zombie auska cash pull and got PW COINS FROM OCTOBER. Lately it’s just been really time consuming and pointless to grind for milestones only to be blocked behind a damn money wall wth scopely?? I’m not saying give everyone every guy in the game I’m saying restore balance in your damn game
2 -
A few other things not touched on:
1) Fix the random belt generator so that it matches only existing wrestlers currently in the game. I’m not going to be able to use the female Legends Trickster belt that it generated and a usable belt is way more valuable than the 700 or 1,250 strap parts that I can get for it.
2) Stop giving a minuscule amount of health packs as compensation for game issues that Customer Service (CS) is either unable or unwilling to look into. It’s a very lazy and uninspiring tactic that the CS agents default to. Give something that is of true value to us players: a notable amount of coins, TP, strap/medal parts, etc.
3) Bump up all of the TP bags. The TP required in the current 5 star meta has increased astronomically without an equivalent increase in what we get from bags. Bags with 1 or 5 TP need to be upgraded to 10 TP. Bags with 10 TP need to be upgraded to 25 TP. And so on. Obviously the high count bags don’t need to be adjusted but the bottom-to-middle section most definitely needs to be overhauled.
I wholeheartedly agree that the one-click daily claim has been a fantastic addition to the game. The players who are airing their grievances aren’t 100% unhappy (for the most part) with the current state of the game. If they were, they would just quit playing. We’re taking the time to offer constructive criticism in the hopes of retaining what works well and reviving what did work but has left the game. What Scopely needs to work on the most is positive player engagement across the full spectrum, from free-to-play to the biggest whales.

While I think the game has improved hugely, especially for newer or casual players, I absolutely understand and agree with those who say the game has a staleness right now.
For me, this is largely down to the fact that there is so little to actually play/compete for at the top level of the game (ie those who have invested the most time and money into the game). Unless you are willing to buy warscore steps and play for 20+ hours for the top 3 spots in feud, there’s nothing to actually earn in the game.
The alternative is just to play for a couple of hours every weekend and hope to get lucky on a bag for a new character. This is anything but engaging content.
A lot of the staleness in the game could easily be solved by drastically expanding rewards for events. This doesn’t mean giving out brand new cards to 1,000 players, but so much content (eg grand tournament with 16 qualifiers) is alienating so much of the player base. Expand leaderboards and give more ‘stretch’ grind goals for players to compete and earn.
9 -
It seems like you guys have gotten away from a lot of the faction focused events. Right now we only seen to get a faction event for blitz, feud, and showdown. There was a time when some of the faction events would reward partridges or a full poster as prizes but that has gone away. Every month is really just the same cut and paste of the last one.
